DONT BRING YOUR KIDS! First of all the ONLY reason we decided to come here was because the Cheese Importer was not finished yet. So we come into the Sun Rose Cafe ready to eat & it seemed like they werent too busy (surprise, surprise) which worked perfect since we did have my 1 yr old son in his stroller. We put him in his high chair & moved the stroller out of the seating area. I was then informed by our waitress that the stroller needed to be moved due to fire hazard. Fair enough. I move the stroller to WHERE SHE SUGGESTED & returned to our table. Then the hostess comes over & asks if its okay if she moves it somewhere else ("out of the way"). Since my wallet & other belongings were in the stroller I decided to take everything out, fold it up, & put it in the back corner of the "cafe" by our table & behind an empty table. Then the waitress comes over yet again saying that, "that will work, until I seat somebody there." (& thats what the OWNER told her to tell me!) Which I could understand if they were @ ALL busy, but they werent!!!! Now Im just annoyed & feeling like it may just be easier for them if I (& my guests) just went somewhere else. Nothing feels more welcoming than being told you & your s**t are in the way...... several times........ before we even get to really sit down. And instead of being helpful in ANY way & trying to assist the staff became very rude & the owner seemed less than disinterested in how we were treated. Im guessing in part because he couldnt care any less about his patrons & whether or not they are treated well. Needless to say we wont be going back & Im telling everybody I know how terrible a place it is.

I usually like this place but today I had such a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. The service was very slow, even though the place was almost empty, and we had our 17 month old son with us, which is like dining with a ticking time bomb. But that I can overlook, what bothered me so much was that this place is supposed to be all about gluten free and whatnot, so youd think they would be on the ball with allergies; not so. I am very allergic to milk, and I told the waitress that before ordering. Well she brought my omelet with cheese, so I sent it back, when it reappeared it was not the omelet that I ordered. I asked for the missing ham, which she brought (cold). When I tasted the ham it was off smelling and tasting, as if it had started to go bad. I told the waitress that and she said that it was rosemary ham and I was mistaken. I can assure all of you that the smell and taste that I was experiencing was not rosemary. Plus I have had their ham before and I know what it is supposed to taste like. I told her that, and said I just wanted them to check it for the safety of other customers. Well she charged me for the omelet and the extra ham, so I asked her to take the ham off the bill, which she did, after sending over someone else who also told me that the ham tasted funny because it was rosemary ham and hadnt been heated up. Whatever. Off ham, is off ham in my book, and doesnt smell anything like rosemary.

This is one of those spots you could walk right by and not know what amazing sandwiches and entree await inside. Everything looked so tempting so we just ordered a few different things and split them all. From the grilled cheese to the Reuben to the cordon Bleu. There was cheese, more cheese, and more cheese. Its like it was flowing from heaven. I fee like this place could unlock even more potential with how spacious it is - but it felt more like eating a Cracker Barrel with a very limited beer and wine selection. With no music playing youll find yourself wanting to whisper to everyone because your voice carries through the whole place. Final vote: food - amazing. Service - good. Ambiance - zero. Thats like a B+ in school my friends!

My new favorite breakfast place, passing Snooze AM Eatery! I had a meat and potato bowl with sausage gravy. The Rosemary in the gravy was fantastic! My wife had malt waffle which was so fluffy I could die. Food: Top notch and ask tastes made from scratch Price: $30 for the two of us with drinks Environment: Rustic with art from local artists you can buy, the ceiling looked like hammered tin that had been painted. Staff: Very helpful especially towards two people who didnt know the menu. Surprise: Their strawberry jam was made from scratch and the Sirata sauce was made by a local Colorado company, both were fantastic! Will return: As often as I can!

I was not all that impressed with my experience here today. While I was thrilled to take my out-of-town guest to a place that had a gluten-free menu (a requirement for her), I felt that the prices were quite high for the amont of food we got. We had my 8 month old daughter with us and my sandwich had avocado on it, which I was breaking pieces off to give to her. We asked the waitress if we could have one slice of avocado on a plate for the baby...it took forever to get (ONE slice of avocado!)...and then she charges us a dollar for it. A DOLLAR. That made the whole avocado cost about 25 dollars.

The Sunrose Cafe has the best gourmet food available in Longmont. To really experience what the chef is capable of you need to sit down for a dinner here and try something from the knife and fork menu. The drinks always taste great and they are always coming up with a new combination that surprises. The owner is always walking around asking how things are. Lunch is good and worth the visit, but it is dinner that really shines. If you have not been here yet make a date to try out the dinner menu. We have had no problems taking our two young daughters with us every time we eat.

The Duck Hoagie with Hoisin was fantastic. My wife was equally pleased with the Tuna Melt Panini. The menu was creative without being gaudy, and the atmosphere was modern without making us feel too stuffy. We really enjoyed the makeover given to the buildings interior and the layout of the cafe! The wait staff was pleasant, and the owner ensured that our meal was to our satisfaction. It is great to have a restaurant in town that serves well-prepared, wholesome food at a reasonable price. The Sun Rose is definitely among the best dining establishments in town.

We are so happy that we found Sun Rose Cafe. Excellent food - especially the soups and lunch specials. Dont even get us started on the desserts! Someone (we think the husband/wife owners) has an amazing culinary genius for food pairings. - gluten-free menu and staff well trained in the importance of gluten intolerance - serves alcohol and makes excellent mixed drinks - Friday night entertainment My wife and I eat at Sun Rose often. Always excellent food and service. And, wonderful atmosphere.

I met two friends at the Sun Rose Cafe for lunch yesterday. The salad with grilled chicken was truly delicious, the kitchen accomodated my special requests perfectly, and our waitresses (Lisa and Lisa G.) made us all feel welcome. My friends loved their pumpkin soup and sandwich specials. Plus, the owner came over to see if we were happy customers -- and we certainly were! What a fine experience -- I really cant wait to go back!!
