Let us take a moment to discuss Cappuccino. The proper balance of foam, to milk, to espresso is a delicate balance only slightly more important than the actual temperature of the drink itself. To hot and you have burnt the milk and usurped the flavor of the espresso. To cold, and, well who the heck wants to drink a to cold cappuccino. The folks at Luna Cafe get this delicate balance. That is why the classic cappuccino is the house special of this establishment. It is a hard drink to get right and they have shouldered the responsibility of perfectly delivering on that dance time and time again. It can be frustrating to put good effort into something that is overlooked by so many patrons. This is not your caffeine drug dealer cafe. This is a serious and professional barista cafe. If you are part of the mindless masses confusing over roasted coffee and burnt milk as a quality cappuccino then I would urge you to actually come here. Sit down, have that cappuccino in a mug instead of a paper cup, where the temperature can be maintained better and the chemistry of the baristas hard work can be finalized. You will be rewarded for your patience with a creamy, buttery coffee experience. At times I can tell that the caffeine zombies have worn away at the patience of some of the baristas here. It takes a while for some of them to warm up to you. However, if you are patient and forgiving of the occasional curt reply you will be recognized and rewarded with kind banter and warm greetings later on down the road. Dont hold it against them folks, The Big Stupid reigns supreme these days and it can be taxing for anyone who cares about the little things, your barista is no exception. The long and short; get the House Special, sit down, turn off your phone for a second and enjoy the quality coffee that was made by quality people. Look to the west and see that over the trees the peaks of distant mountains reach up to touch the face of God. There is beauty to behold here in Longmont, and the front porch of Luna Cafe is a pretty darn good place to see it. ~A

Didnt even feel welcomed at this place the moment I walked in. Went to the barista and after ordering she gave me this annoyed little huff. It was like she didnt even want to be there or serve her customers. In fact, the only word I got out of her was a half-hearted "hi". A couple minutes later she sets my drinks on the counter and walks away! No "Thank you" or "Here you go". At the minimum I would have liked an "Eff off" or "To hell with you". At least I would have gotten some sort of acknowledgement from being there. As for the drinks...they were ok. I ordered two Mocha Frappes. The cups were filled a little over 3/4 full and when blended she hardly used any ice. By the time I left the cafe it seemed like whatever ice she put into the drink had already melted. Id rather spend my money on coffee at another cafe in this town. I was there 6/17/15 at around 4:00pm. I hope the owners of this cafe read this so they can talk to this barista about some simple customer service tips.

Ive been many times cause its across from the bus station and I dont think Ive seen an employee ever smile and they are incredibly rude. I got mean looks and attitude for letting the lady know the toilet was clogged. A "thank you" would be the appropriate response. Then as I waited for the bathroom to reopen she closed and locked the door in front of me and walked the key back to the front. I thought it was pretty obvious I wanted to use it. Also, they all move astoundingly slow. Plan at least 20 minutes when you go, thats with minimal/no line. They will sit and watch something microwave while a line builds up instead of helping the next customer. Most people are in a hurry in the morning, not sure if they are genuinely oblivious to their surroundings or if they intentionally move as slow as possible. A coffee shop is a speed business and this place cant keep up. Try hiring people that arent so old and grumpy

Great coffee! The temperature is always perfect and the taste is always amazing. I love it :) but... theres one lady I encounter who talks and looks at me as if Im not good enough to get coffee here which I dont understand at all. Im a paying customer who takes precious time out of my day to come here. Ive also needed a lid and none fit and I kept getting ignored when trying to ask for one. Ive also been charged two completely different prices for the same drink in the same size by different employees. It wouldnt matter much if it hadnt been almost twice as much as I had expected to pay especially when I always leave the highest tip option... Ive also applied here and the girl who took my resume only responded with "um ... thanks?" In a nut shell its not a very accepting environment but Id still endure it for the great coffee

My favorite café atmosphere in Longmont. Music playing and people lingering in a creaky old converted residence with a nice big porch and nice shady outdoor seating. Other highlights include a small but surprisingly diverse and quality selection of used books. Plus free wi-fi. Sure its painfully slow, but it is free. The espresso is not that impressive, but they reliably brew several OZO roasts quite well. That is good enough for me. Theyre busily baking up a variety of glutinous and gluten-free goods daily. They are reasonably priced, fresh and pretty tasty. All in all a good place to while away a few hours. Moreover, its location makes it a nice diversion on your walk around Roosevelt Park or biding your time waiting on the bus.

Good coffee, but the wait can be interminable even when theres no line, and the owner/manager doesnt seem to know how to make his own espresso drinks, which just seems strange. We ended up with really milky and kinda burnt cappuccinos the one time he made them for us. The place is cute, and their pastries are always good, so I think they could really take off if theyd just hire more personnel and maybe kept the kitchen looking a little neater. Shabby chic is a cute look for the main dining area, but I wouldnt be surprised if some people were turned off by the mismatched, cluttered kitchen; it just doesnt come across as very sanitary.

Cute location with beautiful outdoor seating. The lovely character that comes with being in an old house brings with it the liabilities of odd table arrangements and the awkward-doorway-shuffle when its busy. The coffee itself is only okay (too bitter -- dirty carafes?), but the real standout is the Worlds Best Gluten-Free Banana Bread. If youve been eating GF for some time, youre probably used to dry, gritty baked goods that fall apart as you eat them. But the banana bread was out of this world, wonderful texture and flavor, sweet but not too sweet. Im coming back for more.

This place has been here Forever. I dont care what the sign says, it will always be "Cafe Luna" to me. I love love love it. Adorable old house turned coffee shop. Delicious coffee and baked goods, beautiful old floors, huge windows, cozy reading area full of cool books... One of my favorite places in Longmont and a nostalgia trip every time. Its nice that they accept cards now, used to be you needed cash. I miss the big pine trees that used to be out front, but I guess everything has its time. I hope they plant something new there soon so it has time to grow.
