Proud Mamas - Good Food and Honest People: I did not notice when $220 cash dropped out of my bag while I waited for an order at Proud Mamas at 1114 Francis Street. The next day, I stopped in to get a cinnamon roll and learned that the owner, Kelly Jorgenson, had found and held the cash for me. Since I didnt know where I might have lost it during my eight stops the day before, Kelly and her crew could have kept it. They didnt. Thank you, Kelly, and hurrah for honest people, good cooks and friendly service!

3rd times a charm. Have ventured here a couple of other times and it was closed. I got the spicy Cabbage burger and German potato salad. Both were excellent. While it will not blow you away with ambiance, the staff makes up for it with a very friendly "you are visiting our home" feeling in the way they attend to you. My husband and mom both enjoyed their plates very much as well.

First time was last Friday. Girl that greeted us at door was very friendly. Service was fast. Burger and Cole slaw best Ive ever had and Im a cabbage fan. Then we ask about cabbage burger. Very friendly woman brings us sample. Unbelievable. This is one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to....and I been to a lot of em. Keep up the great work good eats!

I just got home from ordering a stuffed Buffalo burger and the soup of the day. AMAZING!!! Not only that but they are friendly and inviting. The hostess couldnt let me leave before sampling thier green chillie used to smother their breakfast burritos. That too was AMAZING!!! We will be back often.

I thought I was getting just a burger with, I guess, some cabbage on it or something. Oh how wrong I was! What I got was so much more delicious, a tasty surprise wrapped in crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside baked dough. So good. The hot potato salad was good too.

Was okay for breakfast; but would like to try more of the menu. Small place, pretty clean, and staff was friendly. Breakfast burrito was good, but tortilla seemed stale even tho I got it smothered. Meh, maybe next time GECafe...

I have been looking for a place that makes everything in house. This place is it great home town feel and the owners are very personable (in a real way not a "nice to get sales way"). Do your self a favor and eat here once.
