First, I just want to say Im not the one to usually review a place unless I have a terrible experience. I can handle food or drinks not being good, but when I feel uncomfortable in a place because of the SERVICE, I will review. I started a group where about 5-12 girls and I will meet weekly at local coffee shops and get work done. This group brings companies service, because in the end, we all end up ordering something. This week, we decided to go to spur. We will never be back there again. I brought in a sandwich to eat at Spur because spur doesnt provide breakfast foods, if they do, they are little desserts at a ridiculous price. I hadnt eaten anything that morning and knew I needed to or else I would have gotten a migraine. I was eating my sandwich, when the owner came up to me and told me I needed to leave because they dont allow you to bring anything else thats not from them in the shop. I could understand this if they had signs posted on the door saying not to bring in any outside beverage or foods in, but they have nothing. I dont think I would have minded this as much if the owner had pulled me aside privately and just KINDLY let me know that for the next time, but he came and told me in front of a full table and even made the ladies around me uncomfortable. He didnt handle it professionally and made me feel so uncomfortable. Furthermore, Spur would have never even gotten that service from that morning if I didnt start this group to begin with. This was our second time going to spur, and Spur got plenty of service because we all in the end would have ordered from them. But because of this, they lost service from us. We all are business owners and discussed this experience afterward, and if it was my business, and I had that rule, I would have pulled the person aside privately instead of in front of a full table of people, and said to the person, "hey, we really appreciate that you are in our shop, and think of us when working! Just so you know for next time, we would love it if the next time you come in here, you order from us instead!" the owner didnt even question if I was going to order something (I was going to order a coffee) but instead assumed and was incredibly rude. Again, I will never be coming here again. And I will never be saying anything good about Spur.

Great atmosphere and product (I ordered an almond Chai that was delicious). Sharing a three star review, hoping the suggestions will inspire better service. I was part of a group of 8 women who came to Spur to connect. Our order had a few initial hiccups and the staff were very gracious in making them right and delivering the correct drinks. As we started our conversations we competed with the volume of music. I asked the staff to turn it down and was told "sure". After waiting nearly ten minutes with no change in the volume, I walked to the speaker and adjusted the volume. (The staff WERE very busy and I assumed they simply just did not have time to meet our request). Mysteriously we noticed the music got louder. I turned it down again. This repeated 4xs. I wanted to have a drink of water and noticed no glasses and the water was empty. I took the time to explain again that the music was excessive and asked if they could replenish the water and glasses. Again, I was told "sure". No action on either the music or the water. My friend eventually pulled the plug on the speaker. A staff member came over to check the speaker. I imagine, but do not know, that someone was adjusting the volume via an app. Since the plug was pulled it no longer worked. I explained the action we took (unplugging) and repeated that we had asked multiple times as we could not hear each other. At that time we were told of the private "meeting room" in the front (we were there more than an hour). We moved to the front room and it was GREAT. We truly would have appreciated (good customer service) being told at the very beginning (avoid the passive volume battle) of the quieter area. The water nor the glasses were ever replenished. I will not be going back, there are other choices close by with great customer service, product and atmosphere.

Brightly shining amidst a sea of mediocre coffee served with smiles and less-mediocre coffee served with snobbish smirks, Spur is the diamond in the rough- a welcome anomaly, serving highly specialized coffee with highly generalized kindness. The menu is brief and includes a handful of items I had never been exposed to before; the staff offer happy and humble answers for those of us who may not be so keen in the coffee scene... what a breath of fresh air! I learn something new every time I visit. Last time, I asked the proprietor how he became so knowledgeable and specialized, and he responded that he and his family strive to offer the products and services that they themselves would seek. Ah! The good ol Golden Rule. There was one thing he was wrong about, though - I did, in fact, make it to my car with both of my gooey butter cookies still in tote (albeit, no further). Thanks, Spur, for offering a paramount product at a pretty price, without passing on the pleasantries! :)

My wife and I went to the spur today for the first time. Weve been scouting out new coffee shops due to the always the same Starbucks experience. Even before we ordered we were upset about the selection of food that was available. We decided to just get drinks and no food. We ordered a regular coffee and chai latte. My coffee was poured quickly and we sat down to wait for the chai. I took 2 sips of the coffee and had to ask my wife if my taste was off today. She agreed that the coffee was extremely sour/bitter. Maybe this is the taste there going for but to us it was horrible. I threw it out before our chai was ready. We got the chai and left to go get some food and another coffee for me. As we were driving my wife realized that her chai latte was missing the chai. Straight latte. Tasted like the gross coffee! 1. Poor food selection. 2. Bad coffee. 3. Served wrong item. We will not be back. We wanted to like this place since we live so close but just cannot do it.

Small, quirky, clean coffee shop. The service was top-notch and the drinks were some of the best Ive had. If theyve got Greyson on the menu, get the Greyson. Get an extra to go. Get one for your mother. Its so good I came back to KC and made a Greyson-inspired cocktail that has become a staple in our house. The chai latte was probably the second or third best Ive had at a cafe (Ive got several friends from India, so Ive had some nice chai :) ) We had the frittatas to eat, which were delicious. Their pastries are works of art. The only "bad" thing I can say is that its right on the edge of downtown Littleton so youve got to go a little bit off the beaten path to get here. But it is oh-so worth it.
