I am surprised at the other comment that says this is a trendy bar and restaurant. There is nothing trendy about it. With the original hardwood floor from the old hardware store, worn tables, chairs and booths, and the grungy dress of the staff and owner, this is more accurately described as a dive. I feel bad I am not with one of the newspapers, or one of the regulars that the owner was schmoozing with the entire time we were there. It is apparent that they get a different kind of treatment than the rest of the customers. We were going to order the spinbrocco, but the waitress told us it would take at least 30-35 minutes. We told her we did not want to wait that long, and ordered the lucky 7. Our waitress was inattentive, the pizza was average, swimming in grease and soggy, and although it was a far cry from being peak time, since there were waitresses standing around, it took more than 45 minutes for us to get our pizza. Our waitress came to our table after apparently suddenly remembering we were there, and hastily putting in our order approximately 40 minutes after taking it, and apologized for the wait. She never checked our drinks, and we had to ask for refills when our pizza was finally brought to the table. She never stopped back to see if everything was okay, and no one spoke to us until another waitress saw we had finished eating, and asked if we wanted a box. Our waitress then brought the box and asked if we wanted anything else. We did not, so she dropped off the check. After we paid the check and were ready to leave, she came over to pick up the signed slip and then asked if something was wrong. I told her we have never had such poor service as we did in your place. Her response? She said we should have said something before she gave us the check because she may have been able to do something about it. We did not want a freebie, and told her not to worry about it; we will not come back. She then lied and said she did check with us to see if everything was okay. She lied when she said we got our pizza in 35 minutes (if that were true, why did she apologize for the wait?) She then also said that it says on the menu that all pizzas take at least 35 minutes, in such a tone as to suggest it was our fault. My husband insisted that I give her a couple of bucks, because he thought it might not be entirely her fault, so she got more than the penny tip I was planning to leave. Ultimately, the waitress makes the difference between a good and bad dining experience. A friendly, attentive waitress can keep customers happy, even when the food is slow. Unfortunately, she was neither friendly, nor attentive. We will not be back.

I was treated to a surprise early birthday dinner at McKinners on Thursday night. Apparently we had reservations but really didnt need them. I loved the atmosphere here. The pizza was made pretty much right in front of your face since the kitchen is behind some glass at the front of the restaurant. I also love that it is right on Main Street in Old Town Littleton. All the shops and restaurants in the area are pretty unique. You can make a night or day of it just hanging out down here. Our waitress was very sweet and we were allowed to bring in our own birthday cake. I dont think many places let you do that. Service was pretty slow. I guess the pizzas take a while to cook, but it still seemed extra long considering it our waitress paid little to no attention to us during the wait. We ordered a couple appetizers, the jalepeno poppers were very tasty. The prosciouto was a nice addition. The menu has some very unique pizzas on it. We ordered 3 for 6 people. I have to recommend the hot diggity dog (a chili dog pizza) and the chickenzolarella. Both were delicious and unique. The other one we ordered was plain pepperoni, but I dont think this is the type of place you go for traditional pizza. It was OK, not great. One thing I didnt like was the automatic gratuity of 20% on parties of 6 or more. Being a former server/bartender, I have no issue with automatic gratuity, but typically this is reserved for parties of 8 or more and is only 18%. I guess I am nitpicking at this, but it did put me off a bit. Id certainly go back, like I said, its a unique place and we had a good time.

"BEST pizza in town" This is the place you go to enjoy your self and the time spent. A top littleton spot pulling in regulars all over town. Atmosphere and crowd are fun to be around, and easy to engage. The pizza is great and allows for plenty creativity, but prices are high. Gluten free, vegan and dairy free options available. Sandwhiches and salads are excellent too. With delightful desserts, wine and beer. Homemade cheesecake, brownies, soup, salad dressings, mozzarella, pizza dough, meatballs, and more. The list goes on and on. Thoughful and tasty special pies of the week and soup made fresh by the excellent, creative pizza chefs All their ingredients are fresh, and thought is clearly put into the food and presentation. Plan to be here for an hour or more, for food takes awhile to arrive. Although service can be slow, the genuine and friendly staff communication make this place an enjoyable pizza bar. Visually this pizza bar is appealing with original brick and hardwood floors, low lighting including candle light and chandeliar. The owner is clearly a hard worker taking the time to jump in behind the bar, kitchen, or busing and cleaning tables when needed while engaging his guests, staff and the food into a wholesome experience.

This was the second year in a row I walked to McKinners from Cornerstone Park on the 4th of July and carried a pie back for the family to enjoy. Its not that I dont want to support the vendors, but its worth the short walk to McKinners for some really good pizza versus spending almost $80 on turkey legs for a family of six. Yup. $12 for a turkey leg, and the other vendors were similarly priced. Yes, we could have taken our own food to the park, but that meant making potato or macaroni salad, barbecue sandwiches, paper plates, plasticware, ice, coolers, etc, etc, etc. That all cost money too, and you have to spend the time shopping, prepping, transporting, washing dishes. To me, its worth it to plant the family at the park then go get a hot delicious pie or two to enjoy without all the extra work.

Had ordered several pizzas to take to the office; when I showed up they said there was a delay in my order but then came back and said that there wasnt a delay that the pizzas were ready. I was confused but I was on my way into the office to bring pizza to my co-workers as a treat but then I find that the pizza crusts were burnt on the bottom so I now know what happened. They were going to re-make the pizzas but decided not to and just gave me burnt pizza knowing I would not be coming back later since I was on my way to work and I had told the guy this information. I cant believe they would do that because there have been so many great reviews and the employee that greeted me seemed so nice. I wont be going back or recommending this place to anyone.
