I enjoyed the food, but I had pretty much the same experience as another reviewer regarding a rude girl working the register. She did not offer me a cup in which to pour the beer I paid for, which came in a can. No one wants to enjoy a decent beer but have the experience tainted by the smell of a can. This should be common knowledge. So, I naturally grabbed a plastic cup that was within arms reach, and she got incredibly upset that I did so. She fed me some line about the cups blocking something for a reason, and they werent there for customers to help themselves. Yet, they are placed within arms reach. It honestly felt like she was power tripping on the one little thing she could. If this is actually store policy, and you absolutely must drink your canned beer from a can, I will not be returning to this location. Either way, my visit was made heavily unpleasant due to this interaction, and a return is highly unlikely. That being said, the guy who made my food was a total sweetheart. One bad link in a chain though....

Went here looking for some good Indian Fry Bread after reading rave reviews in Westword. Having had it made fresh for me on several occasions by ACTUAL Indians (Nat. Am. If u wanna b PC), expectations were high. I am FINALLY writing this review as I watch their spot on DDD...Because...I don't want others getting the impression that this place is GOOD. Perhaps it is when the owners are there, but when WE went, they were NOT, and it was ATROCIOUS!! I dont know if it was their all Mexican staff that couldnt really speak English, and didnt have knowledge of proper food handling procedures or what, but the entire expierence was horrible! It takes all of a couple mins to fry a FRESH piece of Frybread, we were instead givin nasty, greasy, old pieces that were visibly sitting there under a heating lamp for the 20 mins it took us to order, & were not fresh looking to begin with when we first walked in! The meat we got was dried out & gross. Everything was underseasoned.

I recommend everything on the menu. I recently have switched to eating mostly vegetarian, with bits of chicken thrown in from time to time. Even though I cant resist taking a bite of his Bison ribs with home made berry barbecue sauce that my meat eating boyfriend loves to get. I had it before when I ate red meat and I will never forget the delicious combination of that delicious slightly salty ND buttery bison meat with the homemade blueberry sweet and slightly spicy barbecue sauce. Everything there is recommended. The fry bread is like an adult version of funnel cake without the guilt or the sugar stomach ache. The soda that they sell that is made locally there is amazing as well. With every step you feel like a little kid again, drinking a soda and watching trees sway in the breeze. everything tastes so clean is fresh and full of love, right down to that freaking soda. Like I said, I recommend, everything. If youre a meat eater, go try the ribs, trust me they are worth every penny.

Tacobe reminds me of burrito restaurants where you get your burrito skin and move down a line of ingredients telling them what you want in your burrito. The difference is instead of a burrito you get a puffy circle of fried bread. The bread is the base to your pyramid of toppings. The closest thing I can think of to compare the fried bread to is a very soft sopaipilla but one that does not split in the middle. In addition to typical meat toppings you can have ground or shredded bison. I tried the ground bison and it worked well with the toppings. I tried some of the bison alone and it has an aftertaste that reminds me of liver but to a much lesser degree, I think the average person would like the bison even though they would not like liver. Another cool thing that stood out was that they featured an assortment of beers and sodas all based out of Colorado.

Over the last month I have been stopped three times while wearing my Tocabe heros have always made fry bread t-shirt. The first time was in the clubhouse of my apt during a party. A man stopped me and told me how much he just LOVES Tocabe and how he wished you had a restaurant in the south end of town. Three other people overheard our conversation and asked where you are located. Last Saturday I was in the ER at Skyridge Hospital. The nurse behind the counter saw my t-shirt and said how he just LOVED the buffalo ribs and blueberry BBQ sauce. Today I was in King Soopers at Federal and Belleview and a clerk said "oh, I have been to that place (Tocabe) and I just love their food! I am wondering how many more people I can recruit to love Tocabe when I wear my t-shirt? Hint, hint we sure would love a Tocabe in the Littleton/Lone Tree areas.

Have you ever had Native American food? I hadn’t until I stopped into Tocabe having no idea what to expect other than the vague “fast casual” and “it’s like Chipotle” from a friends suggestion. While true, that doesnt seem to capture the true nature of the food. Yes, like Chipotle, you are sent down a line to add beans, a meat, toppings and salsa to your fry bread or nachos but the end result is so much more. The ground bison is savory and earthy in a way that beef could never be. The Osage Hominy is a sweet balance to the savory meat and thick fry bread. There are ribs, soup and salads available that are unique to Tocabe. So yes the food is ordered in a fast casual style, it’s much closer to mom’s home cooking. Side note: Its unfortunate that google thinks when I type Tocabe I meant Taco Bell.

Great value and quality! Very chipotle-esque and I like it. We got the frybread taco with ground bison meat and shredded bison meat. The hominy salsa added a pleasant sweetness. Disclaimer: these things, unlike your traditional taco, were HUGE - think a chipotle burrito and some. If youre coming here with others and want to try different menu items Id recommend splitting one taco between two people (ask for half and half meat if you want to try more than one type) and it just might be possible to try a side or dessert without bursting open. Good service too.

Food was pretty awesome. Entire experience was dampened by a rude girl who was working the register. Asked her about which beer was on tap and got a "I dont know, Im 19. Its beer." Then ordered a beer I knew about, and reached for a plastic cup to put it in (after paying $30 for our meals and not being offered a cup) to which I was scolded for helping myself to a cup for a beer which I had already purchased. This girl single handedly brought my experience from great to uncomfortable. So many good options around here, I definitely wont be back.

I took my family here when we had company from out of town and wanted to try something new. My food was delicious. My niece had to take her pkate back (something we dont normally do) because she ordered nachos and the chips that they make fresh were literally completely covered in salt. They re made her dinner and it came back just the same. I had nachos also, so i know they CAN make them without a pound of salt. Other than that it was really 50/50. My son liked his, my daughters was completely bland. Overall this place is hit or miss
