Europa, where do you get off? You keep raising your prices. Just in the last 6 months, Ive seen your more basic menu items go up $3+, not to mention your pastries are $5 a pop. Your service is always kinda crappy - never greeted with a smile, always ignored at the counter for at least a minute, and then you guys will sullenly take my order...and when the food comes out, the kitchen staff seems so frantically understaffed, the poor guy slams my plate down and runs back (this happened with the same employee 3-5 times over the course of a few months, not an isolated incident). Ive been coming here fairly regularly for over a year now, and I can tell you the only reason I keep going is because its the only spot in the immediate neighborhood that serves a hot breakfast. Every time I go, I find something new that makes me see this business as an angsty greedy little spot in this otherwise amazing neighborhood of awesome local businesses. Rosebud cafe is a wonderful new addition to the neighborhood, I suggest you all embrace your inner Mediterranean carb queen soul and start supporting Rosebud Cafe instead.

Ambience is very nice. Very spacious and a good location to study or meet a friend for coffee/meal. Service was disappointing. Barista stared blankly at us after two attempts to engage in friendly chit chat, as we do with most folks in the service industry. We werent trying to have a lengthy conversation; just the usual niceties (hello, good morning, thank you...) that received absolutely no response in return. It was actually quite bizarre and awkward. Perhaps she was having a bad day. We usually dont return to places when staff treat us poorly but well probably go back. Kitchen staff was much more friendly. Cool place to study. After reading some of the other reviews, seems like "poor service and blank stares" is their mantra and/or branding. At least Ill know what to expect the next time I return (because I will).

The staff are unfriendly and pretentious. The cafe staff give off a sense that you are there to serve them, their needs, and are not aware of the differing needs of the patrons. Most recently they do not brew coffee through out the day and often run out of mild roast and do not offer any substitutions, which is very poor customer service. Lastly, I have a friend I meet with who has a hearing problem and is quite old. The music in the cafe is often very loud. When my older friend asks the staff does not turn the music down. I have to go and ask repeatedly to have the music turned down. The manager presents with an attitude that he is being put out to turn the music down. Cafe Europa has turned into the worst coffee house experience in Denver. I recommend never going there.

Staff lacked basic customer service skills, as well as basic operational skills. I asked for a sandwich at 1 (lunch starts at 11:30) but the vegetables were still in the oven... and would be so for another 45 minutes. Apparently the staff, obviously socializing amongst themselves, were too busy with their own concerns to run a cafe. And, despite being friendly to one another, they werent remarkably friendly to myself or my companions... When mentioning to my friends their discomforting lack of hospitality I was given a similar, though more experienced review. Otherwise, good menu. But I dont know if Im ever up to going back...

Although the overall ambience and food are good - Ive been coming for 7 years - in recent years, months it has gotten increasingly LOUD. I mean you cant have a conversation or read, and isnt that kind of the whole point of a neighborhoof coffe joint? Used to be able to work and hear myself think, but not anymore - sad b/c I used to really like Europa. Michaelangelo and Stellas offer more of what most people expect. The staff are more concerned about blaring the music they like than what will make their customers happy - which is why they have started losing business.

I really enjoy the coffee drinks here but some of the staff really needs to work on properly greeting people as they approach the counter. I stood there for about 5 minutes with my friend before even getting a hello. Its very easy to just say "hi, Ill be with you in one moment" but not even acknowledging a person for that long is ridiculous. The gentlemen apologized for the wait, but I dont care about waiting as long as I know I am not invisible.

Pros: Cool neighborhood coffeeshop, cozy environment, consistent staff, local artwork, good food, decent amount of power outlets, nice outdoor patio. Cons: noisy kids from the nearby middle school sometimes flood this place in the mid-to-late afternoon when school lets out. They also have a summertime fly problem, which makes it hard to get anything done while you and your food are constantly being dive-bombed.

I live next door to Europa and go there often enough, food is great, drinks are good but way overpriced! Also out of the 10 times Ive gone there, with out fail they mess up my drink and/or my food. Iced americano? heres a hot one! Croissant breakfast sandwich? Heres Toast! Its almost hilarious at this point, the only reason I keep going back is its 30 feet away and Im lazy.

Total greatness. Would worship like a god if I didnt already have another God to worship. Like riding a canoe down the Nile but your canoe is made from cotton candy and the Nile is actually old photographs of urban scenes. Mountains arent tall enough, and lakes not deep enough. Try to avoid the d bags that lurk there, but thats my advice for everywhere youll ever go.

These guys have great coffee, tea, smoothies, and food. The service Ive had has always been great and the more I go the more personal it is. I love it there. The changing local art is another added plus along with the local crafts they sell up by the register. With the markets and businesses turning more locally Cafe Europa is a good standard to go by.

Still one of my favorite coffee shops in Denver. Coffee is always great, great breakfast food. Service overall is good. Every once in a while the person taking orders is less than engaging, but is easily overlooked for the "neighborhood feel" and consistent quality. Btw, food may take a few minutes more (small kitchen), but is worth the wait.

I had a soy vanilla latte and potato hash with green chillies. The staff was very friendly which surprised me contrary to the majority of reviews. I enjoyed the ambience and wanted to stay and refill my mug all morning. Plus there were some super cute dogs outside on the patio.

Come here if you like a Shifty hipster dive with overpriced coffee. 4.50 for a latte with 2 inches of foam like a cappuccino. Dear "Barista" : I know dread guy was telling you interesting things about flutes but you can wait until the drum circle tonight.

Depends what youre looking for. Good local spot for meeting people you know, good food, but definitely too loud for getting any kind of work done or private conversations. Staff will be friendly or smug depending on what they think of you.

Good food, poor service. Expect long waits for food, to awkwardly stand behind the counter while staff ignore you and an overall sense that they dont care. The food makes up for these short comings as I still frequent this establishment.
