Dangerous if you have food allergies. I came into Jelly for the first time today. Id heard great things, especially from my wife. I let my server know that I have a red-onion allergy, and ordered a green chili breakfast burrito. When it came out, the first thing i noticed was a piece of red onion on my plate. It took me a bit of effort to get attention to the matter, at which point my server assured me that this must be a stray from the prep area, and that the rest of the meal should certainly be free of them. I took him at his word, which was a mistake. Ive had this issue with red-onions all my life, and I now feel the characteristic abdominal pain that comes with eating red onions. I will likely be in considerable pain for the next 24 hours. I felt compelled to call the restaurant and share my experience. I called at about 3:20 and the call was answered by a woman who identified herself as Izzie. I asked if she was interested in my feedback, and she said, "well, were closed and I dont have a lot of time." When I started to tell her what had happened she responded "well, were only human" to which I protested that a restaurant needs to take food allergies seriously. She was being very condescending and patronizing, and I told her that I thought so. She then suggested, in a very snotty tone, that maybe I should call a doctor if it is so serious. I really dont understand why having feedback made me the bad guy today, but Ive never had a ruder response in regards to an issue like this. Needless to say, I will never be back and I will steer others away as well, especially those with food sensitivities. I still wanted to reach out to share this with you to emphasize that allergies are SERIOUS. Fortunately my version of this allergy is mild, and cannot kill me, but my next 24 hours are ruined, and her insults just make it all the more frustrating.

For a couple of New Yorkers visiting Denver after some skiing in the Rockies, this hipster-ish "breakfast all-day" joint was right up our alley! We came here on the recommendation of one of the excellent staffers over at the now closed Burnsley Hotel...THANKS! After some tough deciding, my friend and I both ordered off the Benedicts menu. She ordered a regular eggs Benedict, while I opted for the "Haco Benedict." The Haco Benedict came with a deliciously-stewed mashup of chorizo, roasted poblanos, and tomatoes drenching the biscuit beneath. As if that wasnt enough, the entire mess was topped with hollandaise and dusted with paprika = mouthgasm. We finished our meal with an assortment (eight flavors available) of made-to-order donut bites which were delicious! We brought a second large box back for the hotel staff at the Burnsley, who have been driving us to/from all the Denver spots in their complimentary shuttle. Service throughout was friendly and speedy, and our waitress was more than patient with us as we were deciding (read: drooling) over the menu options. Because our hotel was only a few blocks away from Jelly, I cant comment on the parking, but our experience otherwise was five-star from start to finish! Jelly Cafe is definitely worth the trek up to Capitol Hill if youre seeking a solid breakfast/brunch!

This place is amazing!! we take all our friends here when they come in town for breakfast!.. Im not a donut fan at all and the donut bits are mouth watering waiting for them!!.. I would like to mention that a few times i have walked in and have seen multiple tables open and the hostest doesnt seat. I literally watched the lady have 3 tables open and people standing waiting. After confronting and being told i could seat myself at the bar since thoes where open as well, watched people befor us be sat 5 min after we sat at the bar, sit in the seats that where open the entire 15 min of standing, It was ridiculous. I would just like to mention being a server for 7 years. the hostest needs to be more clear about whats going. If your not seating us cause the kitchen is backed up state that to us! we are more patient while waiting, if its cause theres a party coming in tell us!.. Hostes at Jelly! you are super busy so please remmeber to be nice to us and inform us of why you are not seating us in the empty seats we are staring at.

Went into Jelly today, ordered corn beef hash. I was expecting the old school, CBH out of a can. I ordered it well done, because I like my CBH crispy. But, I received a big plate of grilled corn beef, topped with home fries, and onions, with a side of toast. The corn beef was delicious. BUT, the homefries were undercooked. Most of the potatoes served were as if they just came out of the boiling pot, barely grilled. So I asked my server for another side of potatoes, CRISPY. A minute later, they come back with potatoes that were exactly the same as I originally received. I literally took one in my hand, and was able to smash it like a baked potato. So i told him to take it back. 3-4 minutes later, a cook comes out with extra crispy home fries and an attitude saying, "If you want crispy home fries, you need to ask for it". You can decide whether youd like to spend $20 (after tips) on this breakfast joint!

This was an enormous let down. I had heard good things, but I feel that once a restaurant gets popular, it can easily stay popular just by word of mouth despite it actually being any good. I went with a friend for early brunch, around 9:30 on a Saturday, and the wait was about 45 minutes. we both had very lackluster meals, mine was a hash - really just a plate of veggies chopped and seemingly cooked with oil and oil alone with a boring egg on top. The only flavor came from the hot sauce I added. My side was a biscuit that came out as hard as it possibly could be and had the texture of a pumice stone. My friend had a Benedict that wasnt even on an English muffin, rather a soggy piece of toast. It too had flavor only from the hot sauce on top. I will never go here again.

I came back to Denver from California to visit friends and this was out first breakfast stop on the list. I had never been before and let me say, I have been to A LOT of breakfast spots, and this one has far exceeded my expectations. First, it was my birthday and our waiter hooked us up with the birthday treat. However, I am severly allergic to gluten and they do have great gluten free options. Secondly, Guthrie made sure that absolutely everything I ordered was gf. He and the cooks went and read labels and double checked everything. The service we experienced here was genuinely the best service I have ever had. I will be back every time I come to Denver. Such amazing people work here. Thank you! #teamguthrie

I work up the street and we have enjoyed the breakfast here. One of our managers usually pay for the breakfast for 5 people. the last 3 Saturdays they have (according to them), went against their policy to let us get a to go order. Today when I called in not only was I told they wont accept my order but it was ok if I didnt order again. A young lady after complaining took my order but complained the entire time about the way I wanted my eggs, the number of pancakes I wanted with my orders.. the worst customer service.. this place just lost regular customers for good.. there are too many other great breakfast places in the area.. go to Toast they will treat you good...
