I read the reviews and quickly discounted the delivery complaints as unreasonable. I decided to go here for lunch and ordered general Tsos chicken. Coming from the east coast where good Chinese is plentiful, I have been left wanting here in the springs. Please know that the general Tsos from here was exceptionally tasty. I felt the chicken chunks were on the small side but the taste made up for it for sure. The pork fried rice and egg roll were just average and I went with the hot and sour soup which was rather good. I am now willing to try other dishes here based on my first experience. Seriously, the generals chicken hit the spot. So of the many places tried in the springs, this dish has been the best so far (excluding pork fried rice and egg roll). So I cant speak for the other menu items but if you are a generals fan you wont go wrong here. Update 2-22-16 their Singapore Mei Fun is absolutely rocking! If you never had it try it. If you know what it is this is the best in the springs by far. It is a spicy dish so know that before you order.

this is the best chinese food in colo springs. Overseas 101, rated #1 on yelp, and new china village, #2(ish), sent me reheated pf changs chicken with no sauce as general tsos that was the antithesis of spicy and was debatably not chicken. Like most places, there are good chefs and bad chefs. That said, the worst chef at rong cheng is worth a million chefs from everyone else. On another note, they do offer some japanesw foods, but in the dozen or so times Ive ordered non-chinese from here, it has been edible if not slightly bland. However, I have not tried the sushi yet. Its a chinese restaraunt, stick to chinese food, no regrets. My favorite is the chicken with garlic sauce without green pepper and the house lo mein. They always throw in white rice, fortune cookies, and various sauces (usually 5 soy, 2 sweet n sour, 2 duck, and 1 spicy mustatd) for free. I only bring this up because I ordered enough food for 5 people from overseas 101 that had NOTHING extra. I know china is technically communist, but come on

Rong Cheng is an awesome chinese restaurant! The Food: The food here is extreamly good. You get huge portions for very little cost what so ever. It is always prepared fresh and is nice and hot when you recieve it. You can tone down or up the level of spice on the spicy dishes. The Wonton soup is amazing I highly recommend getting a bowl of it. The Decor: This place is very typical chinese restaurant like. It is a pretty small place with average tables and the chinese stuff all over the walls and ceiling. There is a Michael Jackson CD that is always on repeat which is pretty funny but not annoying or anything. The Service: The service here is great. The old lady that takes orders and buses tables is the sweatest thing and is always very nice to everyone that comes in. The chef is rarely seen upfront due to the fact he is in the back creating awesome tasting dishes.

I have ordered here a few times and was rather disappointed with the serving size when compared to cost. The food is good but when you spend $30+ and are not satisfied its pretty sad. I really love their chicken low mien. The teriyaki chicken (for $13.95) was a single breast of chicken on top of veggies, mostly onion. Will not order that again. Also, on a few occasions they forget part of my order when delivering, drinks, rice, fortune cookies (hey its all part of the experience). I only kept ordering here because they were open later than the other places but after my 5th time ordering and still having problems i will not come here again. I would have given it a 2 star but some of the food actually does taste good, just be prepared to spend a lot to feed a family of 4. Way way higher than competitors when looking at the amount of food given of the same quality.

Their food was NOT good and they steal from you. We gave the girl a 15% cash tip because the girl serving us was nice.. aside from the food being blah.. then we checked our bank account as we always do and noticed that payment was higher than we thought. We checked our receipt and sure enough it was $4 more. Yes, it is JUST $4 more and it could have been more but thats besides the point. They still stole from us! Never again we will ever go there and never will we recommend it to anyone. ***I posted a screen shot of how they treat their customers. I put this memory to rest and moved on. A month later I get this private message (today July 7th 2016). I would just like to say THANK YOU for confirming we will NEVER go back and my friends and family will NEVER try this place. Have a great life! Good luck!

Now before I comment. The review I give is from over 20 years experience in food service. I went initially because chinese and japanese food. I was looking for a place to eat outside of the home on labour day. And this place from the pictures and prices was excellent in appearance. The staff was courteous and prompt. But the food was, how to say, not well plated. A friend I had with me got his main dish as a side, which was the sweet and sour pork. It had a texture of baby food deep fried. And mine was the curry beef. Which except for the pea pods was kin to walmarts chinese beef in a can. I am sorry to sound harsh, but the food was cold, lukewarm at best. I am hoping this is not everyones experience. But for this person well it was not what was depicted.

Absolutely horrible. The owners are extremely nice but the food is gross. My husband and I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp. So it comes out on a plate and there was no veggies mixed in or anything. What happened to the pineapple and the green & red pepper? It was just a nasty fried mess on the plate with the sauce in a bowl. Huh? The coating around the shrimp was soggy & did not taste right as well. On the other hand, our daughter ordered the lo mein & she liked it. But still....my hubby & I threw our food in the trash....$38 down the drain. Id say if youre looking for decent asian food, I would just tell you to go to Pei Wei down the street. Good food and the place is clean.

Was looking for a new place to try and saw the reviews. We ordered pu pu platter, veggie tempura, sesame shrimp (which translated to sesame chicken when delivered), orange chicken and beef broccoli. While orange chicken and tempura were good the others were just OK and nothing to write home about. Portion sizes were very generous but getting the wrong food and some of it being heavily sauced was a bit of a turn off. Guess well still be looking.

Normally this place gets 4+ stars from me. Their food is quite tasty. However, my wife and I both came down with salmonella poisoning as a result of eating their chicken. Symptoms of salmonella poisoning: acute diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and fever. Symptoms begin between 12 and 36 hours after consumption. We both got hit with these symptoms 12 and 14 hours after eating. Sorry Rong Cheng. You wont be getting my business ever again.
