Dont be fooled by the four star rating, this restaurant is not very good. The first thing I noticed that found off putting was the lack of lighting. It is very poorly lit, with the main colours being dark brown and the lights being very low power. Instead of feeling cozy and laid back it felt dingy and dark. The menu was easy to navigate (if a little dog-eared) and the staff was fairly prompt and courteous. Nothing especially amazing, but satisfactory. The really gripe I had was with the food. My friend ordered hibachi and I ordered sushi. My sushi came fairly quickly, and looked fine but on closer inspection it lost some charm. The rolls were more rice than anything, and the unagi roll was drowning in a very salty sauce. The shrimp tempura roll was almost flavorless. Of the three nagiri I ordered, none were a pleasant experience. The yellowtail piece (I assume, I was never told which was which) was particularly bad and I actually had to struggle to finish it. The octopus was very rubbery and the mackerel was as tasteless as the tempura, and none of the pieces smelled particularly appetizing. According to my friend, the hibachi was decent, but rather salty and not authentic in the least, with everything being drenched in soy and teriyaki and smothered in butter of all things. Over all I was very displeased with my experience, especially due to my initially high hopes, and will neither be returning to musashi, nor recommending it to anyone I know.

Cant say anything about the food as we left before we got started. Wife and I called a day ahead of time and made reservations for our anniversary dinner. Not sure if this is simply the way this type of restaurant works or if this place is simply a joke but we were sat around a flat cook top with another party of 6 who had also made reservations... This to me was unacceptable and thus we left. What little time we were inside I will agree with some other reviews that the interior is filthy, grease all over the place, cooking area was poorly kept, poor lighting. And if youre looking for an authentic experience Id say look elsewhere as the chef at the adjacent table and the one who came to our table were both Caucasian. Maybe thats just the way this type of place works, but when 2 parties have reservations they should not be placed at the same table, both my wife and I AND the other party were clearly disgusted at the lack of consideration for us. Not recommended.

Waited for our food for over an hour. The waiter was like 16 and did not know how to do his job and stated he was training but had no trainer. He kept throwing his hands up in the air and snottily commenting on everything we said after we complained. He contaminated the rare beef we had with the raw chicken. It took him 20 mins to take out order the whole time we sat there patiently. The food was not cooked properly at all and we all complained considering it was over an hour to get the food. The orders were severely messed up on top of that and the owner told us they would take 4$ off our meal for the screw ups at which point we said no. The owner talked about us with other customers saying we were pieces of she the whole while the bartender kept apologizing to us. The service is absolutely horrid along with the ownership.. Used to be my favorite place but I will never go back again nor do I recommend anyone else to either

Whoever gave this place 4 and 5 stars have either never ate at another Hibachi place before or you are high. First of all whoever said the people who work there are "authentic".....uhm, all the cooks that I saw were caucasian. Not that theres anything wrong with that but I wouldnt consider a 6ft 3in tatted up dude from America authentic (in a japanese restaurant). But that would have been fine had he been ENTERTAINING. Our cook was nice but it was the most boring hibachi Ive ever been to. Our cook barely talked to us and did not do one single trick. The food was okay but I would never recommend this place to anyone nor would I ever refer to it as being "excellent" or "my favorite." Maybe if I was stoned out of my mind would I have thought this place was awesome, kind of upset that I wasnt because I probably would have seen tricks then. Only sushi I had was the unagi roll and that was good.

The owner Kiyomi at this place was HORRIBLE!!!! After ordering a Filet I had to ask the chef to cook it again and cut it more because it was raw and the pieces were way too big. When he gave it back to me it still was not cooked enough and the pieces were still too big that it required a knife. When I complained, I was made wrong and so were the other guest at the table whose son had shrimp allergies and the dad mentioned that the chef neither asked nor cleaned the utensils when cooking. The other guests also had to ask for their steak to be cooked more and cut again. Kiyomi the owner asked what was the problem and gave no discounts or apologies. He made it seem like it was my problem and I left a half a filet there for the trash that I had to pay in full. DO NOT GO TO THAT PLACE. THE OWNERS REACTION WAS MORE UPSETTING THEN THE FOOD AND NEW CHEF THAT DID NOT DO A SINGLE TRICK.

This place has the best hibachi in town. The mushashi special is the way to go, with the filet and chicken. The filet will melt in your mouth if you order it cooked medium or less. The chefs are not amazing with their tricks, but the food is always consistently delicious and it is a great family. Yes it needs a decor facelift, but we eat here often and the food is so good, it makes up for it. Go at lunch time for a great deal with large portions. It has been around forever and is a local favorite.. The server/bartender at lunch is great, she always remembers ours drinks and makes us feel welcome. ☺ that is why it gets 5 stars. The sushi is made by the Japanese owner and comes from his family recipes- caterpillar roll is the customer favorite, 2 couples at our table ordered it last time we were there, though we dont often eat sushi.

Decent food, horrible service. Ive been several times but last time was the worst. The chef burned our rice, overcooked all seafood, and practically ignored everyone except a group of girls at our table. My teriyaki steak suddenly became non-teriyaki because he didnt remember to put any on and then gave me cold sauce when I asked about it. Instead, he doled out larger portions to these girls and proceeded to add insult to injury when he asked them if theyd like teriyaki on their chicken (when they hadnt ordered it) only seconds after forgetting to put any on my steak. We ended up taking all of our food to go and tossing it when we get home. Shrimp was overcooked and rubbery, neither of our steaks were the correct temperature, and the rice tasted charred.

Musashi is the real Japanese restaurant owned by real Japanese people!! Their waitresses are the best. always caring about filling our water glasses. Sushi is very fresh and tastes great. Prices are actually cheaper than other places. Hibachi is very entertaining. You might not like it when you have to sit with strangers(share the Hibachi table), but it's also fun! Be friendly!! or you should go with a big company.I dont understand when people complain about them making you sit in a crowd because thats what Hibachi is.They usually dont have a private seating. My husband and I go to Musashi very often. We also go there to cerebrate special occasion such as Birthday, anniversary and Valentine's day. We are always satisfied.
