Overpriced. Below average food. Angry management! I would rate zero stars if they let me. We were there last night. The concept is very dated; this is the exact same show and food as BeniHana was serving in the 1980s. By the end of the night we heard the same jokes and skit from the cooks at least 5 times at different tables. It wasnt that funny the first time, and by the end of the night we couldnt wait to leave. Our party was a family of 4. We did not order appetizers, deserts or alcohol, just standard entree dinners and soft drinks, and our bill was still $140. We had a gift certificate so the manager added a mandatory gratuity of 20% to our bill - whether the food and service earned it or not. The manager was an absolute jerk and didnt even want to accept his own gift certificate. It was only $25 but he came out and started yelling at us and calling us cheap! He was an incredible jerk to the customers and to his staff. I worked in better restaurants in college and this guy would have been fired on the spot anywhere I have ever worked. For our $140, we each got a bowl of lukewarm onion water, a bowl of bland rice, half a cup of salad, a handful of vegetables covered in soy sauce, and 5 or 6 ounces of fried meat. By chopping it up, they try to make it look like more, but there was about 3 ounces of chicken and 2 to 3 ounces of beef or fish per person. I had shrimp for my entree. I was the only shrimp order at the table, yet the cook saved 1/3 of the shrimp he had cooked to give to the other party at the table. Yes, I know the "catching shrimp" skit is their trademark trick. But the cook threw most of it on the floor anyway. Next time I would rather eat what I paid for. I got 8 pieces of cocktail size shrimp as an entree. At any seafood counter, this is 2 ounces of shrimp and sells for 65 cents. They did include the 3 ounces of chicken, which again is 40 cents worth of chicken even retail. I can get more food and much better quality at Panda Express for $7 per person. It is the worst Oriental food I have ever had. And as for steak? They should not be allowed to call themselves a steakhouse because you cannot order a steak. You can watch them chop up half a steak and split that between three people, but you cannot order a steak. For the price, either go to a steakhouse, or for half the price, go to a good Chinese restaurant. You will be so glad you did!

In fairness we have eaten here four times, and three of those times we had a good experience. This last time, though, was negative enough that we wont be going back, and, in my opinion, warrants rating this place only three stars. We were there with my wife and I and our four children, and the poor experience started with the guy cooking our food; he was an older Asian guy, not very personable, very little interaction with us, and when one of the other employees who was standing off to side watching him cook asked him why he wasnt responding to our four year-old boy who was asking him questions about what he was doing, his response was, "He talk too much!" Now I dont know about you, but when I was four if I was watching someone juggle knives, make volcanoes out of onions, catch eggs on a spatula, etc., Id be excited and asking a lot of questions as well. And isnt the cooking show the main reason why we choose to pay the inflated prices for the food? The next problem was when we got our food, my ribeye was mostly fat, my wifes filet had a lot of fat (filets shouldnt have any), and my daughters ribeye, which was ordered medium well, was almost raw. Yet when we pointed this out to our server, he told us he would go to talk to the manager and disappeared. When he returned he apologized for the crappy meat and instead of offering some sort of compensation for three expensive steaks that were well below reasonable expectations of quality, he offered the ridiculous option of free dessert, which basically meant nothing since we werent getting dessert anyway. On top of this insulting offer, the manager never came over to talk to us about it, and this maybe more than anything irritated me the most. The net net here is that this dinner cost us $172 with the mandatory 18% tip they had already included, and frankly I would have been upset if it had cost me only $50 because the quality and the service were that bad (our server excluded). Unfortunately for this restaurant but fortunately for us, there are a ton of great places to eat in Fort Collins, and we will not be coming back to their establishment

Most of the time, my experience at the Hibachi is very good. However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed with my latest experience. I have children age 5 and 13 and they love to go to Hibachi because of the entertainment value. We dont go often because it can be rather pricey. During this experience, we were seated next to a table of adults (23-30) that were being extremely loud and obnoxious. They were cursing, and being very loud with sexual comments in front of many other children that were in the vicinity. It only got worse when one of the chefs showed up to cook for them, and the chef engaged in the same cursing and sexual conversations. Throughout the entire meal, there were many other people at tables that were turning around in disgust because of the behavior of these "adults". I am very disappointed by our experience because this place used to be a very family friendly environment. The last couple of times we have been there have been disappointing because of some of the comments by some of the chefs in front of children. Our chef, this time, was great. He was very pleasant in conversation and he has been there off and on for over 12 years. He even seemed a little disappointed by the way the chef next to us was talking and carrying on with the obnoxious group next to us. We might not return to Hibachi after this experience.

Worst experience ever. We waited 20 min for water then another 20 min for our sushi appetizer. They got the appetizer wrong so it took 10 more min to get it. We had been seated for over an hour before the chef even arrived at our table. Unknown to us, there was a lady with mushroom allergies at our table so we waited 20 more min while he cooked only her food. While she ate, we were given rice that was cooked with her food. In the mean time, we had alcohol splashed on us by some stupid drinking game where people literally yelled at the top of their lungs and punched the table until a shot glass fell into their cups. After all this, the chef finally started cooking our food. But since it had mushrooms in the veggies, the chef had to stop, throw all the veggies away, clean the table, get new vegetables with no mushrooms, and start over. Because one lady couldnt eat mushrooms, none of the other 9 people could have mushrooms in their meal either. In the midst of this, the restaurant celebrates someones birthday by turning off all the lights and having a restaurant wide cheer/clapping fest. Long story short, it was terrible and we wasted $60. We only go out to eat somewhere this expensive maybe once per year, and we wasted it here.
