Terrible experience tonight! From service to food, this is NOT what I expect from a fine dining restaurant. As a former server, I have extra patience and understanding for restaurant staff. The staff were all very friendly and polite, but they were not on their A game... A server spilled some of my drink on the table when served, but it took several requests for napkins to get it cleaned up... (this is also when coasters were provided). I cleaned up the mess. My bowl of green chili was super salty, came with no tortilla strips, and when I asked for them, they were served ten minutes later in a plastic take out dish. After appetizers, (horribly overcooked Brussels and sausage) the waiter asked my husband to "keep his fork", changed his mind, then never brought a replacement...even after serving the entree... When asked how everything tasted, we said "overdone". The waiter offered more chicken or a discount...and then disappeared for another ten minutes or so, leaving the plates on the table... We considered just leaving, but waited to speak with the "manager", who was a very nice young lady, and took it like a champ; cant remember her name, not her fault. Hate to be a cranky whiner, but I refuse to pay for terrible food and service. Also, your hostess needs to make sure her skirt is long enough to cover her butt when bending over tables, thank you.

Was very excited to go to happy hour in Castlerock as I live in Denver while working near Colorado Springs and my friend lives in CO Springs... Was hoping to make this a weekly thing. Immediately upon sitting down was told by the slovenly overweight unkept bartender with zero social skills that "No food is on happy hour as we just changed our menu ". Not that big a deal about the happy hour, we both make a decent living. Ordered the duck confit with fries as well as the brie cheese with grilled pita and chutney. We both ordered drinks off the happy hour menu. Food was adequate nothing special and the cheese was very small portion considering it was a low-grade Brie. We both went to order another happy hour drink and were told " I cannot give you any more drinks until your drinks are less than half full… Really?! Odd rule considering the price difference for drinks is only $1.50 and food is full price.... However the bartender didnt tell us any of this was just extremely rude shrugging her shoulders and walking away. No need to belabor the poor service and non-exist "happy hour " and just want to say we will try Union next time !!! Shouldve listened to my fellow yelpers!

My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time and we were both very disappointed, especially considering the rave reviews. We sat at the bar and ordered the salmon plate and the we were charged $5 to split the plate which came out to a $27.00 salmon plate. The salmon was overcooked, fishy and for a main course it was a small portion. The risotto was luke warm, gummy and crunchy. I understand al dente but this was ridiculous. It was more like an appetizer than a meal. We also ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and although they were decent the serving bowl (small) was only filled to three quarters full. Come on, how much can fries cost you??? With our meal we ordered a draft beer apiece and it cost me $60.00 with tip. I really felt cheated when I paid the bill. Never have I paid so much for so little.

Currently this is my favorite restaurant in Colorado. Its my "go to" fancy dinner place. The menu is seasonal and while it doesnt have dozens of options, there is always something for everyone. The food is simply amazing. Flavors both new and familiar greet you at every meal. I have never had a bad meal here. The XO Sprouts are worth the drive on their own. Make sure you save room for dessert. As impressive as the food is, the service is even better. I was wary of a young-looking wait staff, but every server were ever had there has been knowledgable not only about the menu, but drinks as well. They also cater to food restrictions. If youve been, you already know all this. If you havent, the next time you want a real "dining experience" make a reservation and head to Castle Rock.

Excellent food and service. Bar was fantastic. The food is high quality. The price was a bit high for Castle Rock but well below most restaurants of this quality. The atmosphere is interesting- an old catholic church isnt where you would expect a restaurant. The stone exterior and stained glass windows make this place really stand out. They could make a couple of changes to really dress up the interior- live music ( a guitar player in the bar with the music run to the main restaurant would have been incredible here). Large draperies to cut some of the voices and fresh linens would have really dressed up the interior and bring it up to the level of the food and service. I have dined at some amazing restaurants and this one is on par with the best.

So-so The place is cute and the wait staff was great. The food was not so great. It was like they were trying to hard. We got the chicken and waffles. It came with two pieces of breaded, fried chicken breasts that were way over cooked. Those were piled on top of lettuce???? then on top of the waffle. The waffle was spicy! Not sure how or why but it was obvious the cook never had chicken and waffles - missed it by a mile. We also order a burger well done. It came out med-rare at best. Not real tasty. Next we had the mac-n-cheese with pulled pork. It was all mixed up together and was more like a goulash than anything. Not the best tasting. Pretty disappointed. We were looking forward to trying this place for a while.

This is the best bar in town if you like mixed or unique drinks. The lunch menu is hit or miss, but if you give them a few tries youll lock into what you do like there. As for dinner, I feel they try so hard to innovate to the point that expectations of what you are ordering are shattered and the actual product just ends up being, well, strange. Calamari with sweet and sour sauce... what? Jalapeno poppers with minced jalapenos into a fried cheese ball in a tomato sauce with no spiciness... what? All of the salads are great, the Cajun Shrimp Pasta is superb, and the fries they do well also. Go here for the fantastic drinks and maybe share a plate with a friend.

I wanted to make a reservation for a party of ten as a get together for family. I was told, "No, we dont make a reservation for a party larger than 8." I asked if we could reserve 2 booths. I was told "no" again. Then I was told that we could just show up and they would try to sit us at the bar. Well be having 6 children in the group. I dont thinking sitting them at the bar would be a good idea. Having 10 people strung along the bar trying to talk to each other? Really?! I went ahead and called Damascus Grill. That restaurant readily took my reservation. I guess the manager at the Old Stone Church Restaurant doesnt want our money.
