This was the most awkward eating experience of my life and by awkward I mean sitting in uncomfortable silence while contemporary rock played out the same boom box I had in 2001. We were the only ones in the restaurant and were "served" by our waitress who did not actually take our order but request we each write down what we wanted on separate sheets of paper. If the majority of Colorados population knew what was happening in terms of paper waste at this restaurant theyd have a conniption. I was not expecting this sushi to rock my damn world and spoiler alert it didnt. Im not a picky eater and in fact ordered the ninja roll to be spontaneous and try something different. This particular roll has no description but is instead encouraged for customers to try. After eating the majority of my roll, I naively thought I could ask what mystery meat I was sort of enjoying. The waitress gave me the most shady reply saying she didnt know and that even the chefs wife didnt either as if that would make me feel better. What I do know is that it looked like a blend between crab and liver spotted flesh...but also fried. Again, normally I wouldnt care and would not take the time out of my day to write a sarcastic review; but it was the fact that me and my friends bills totaled to $20-30 for a cup of soup and a small roll. They automatically added gratuity which wasnt brought to my attention but conveniently kept the option for me to add an additional tip as usual. After my friends let me know what I had done, I saw through time as I thought of the many things my $2.15 could have bought me. As opposed to the awkward service that I paid $5 for; also the weird bathroom key they handed my friend as if that was a perfectly normal thing to do and she was in the wrong to think she could do her business at her leisure. The bathroom key was attached to a industrial sized cooking spoon by the way. We were seriously so confused the entire time and felt a strong feeling of liberation that isnt typical of exiting restaurants. I wouldnt even give this a star but apparently that isnt an option. Over it. We got fries and milkshakes across the street at flip side right after because we were still hungry. That was great- flip side is 10/10 would recommend.

Yes, this place is unconventional, located in a strip mall, and has a bathroom key attached to a kitchen spoon but thats because it is owned by the sushi chef and his wife who have been here for 30 years. He was the head sushi chef for a long time at the "fancy restaurant down the street" until he saved enough to buy this little place. As you can imagine, Breck real estate is a little pricey. If you appreciate great sushi and dont need expensive decor in a corporate-owned restaurant, I suggest you follow the locals to Wasabi. The quality of the fish is incredible, they manage to find many things that are not available at a typical sushi restaurant, and every piece is prepared by the head sushi chef and owner while his wife waits on tables. Highly recommended if you can leave your pretentiousness at the door.

Went here on a recommendation from a local, and after a good day on the slopes, this definitely hit the spot. I was a little weary of how expensive the dishes were, but after tasting how delicious the sushi was, I totally understood that I was paying for high grade fresh sushi. The sashimi was so soft and melted in my mouth like butter. None of the sushi was fishy tasting or slippery, which is a really good sign of freshness and quality. This is a small hole in the wall family owned sushi restaurant and the its definitely well worth the visit. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and the service was wonderful. Theres not a whole lot of seating in the restaurant, but it never got overly packed. Im glad to have found this hidden gem around Breckenridge.

Ive eaten sushi all over the world and this place is right up there at the top. It puzzles me how a relatively small Japanese place in a location like this consistently has such fresh fish. But it does! So I just drink some sake and enjoy the delectable, melt-in-your mouth, generously sized cuts of sashimi and sushi. When in Breck for 5- or 7-day vacations, we usually try to eat at different restaurants every night. But there are one or two places that require two visits. This is one of them. N.B. I dont order chicken at Japanese restaurants, so I cant comment on how good the chicken is here.

Awesome sushi! Authentic Japanese sushi. Read reviews prior to coming, yes bathroom is across the hall, no liquor, and strange check splitting but great experience. Had a large party and they accommodated great. Not from Colorado, eat tons of sushi, would for sure come back again!!! Dont be scared off by other reviews. Thank you wasabi for a great experience and accommodating everyone in our party. You guys rock

It took well over an hour for them to serve us our sushi rolls...and they didnt even give us Wasabi with them, like every other sushi restaurant. The waitress kept complaining about how busy the kitchen was, but our food didnt even need to be cooked! Food was fine, aside from lack of Wasabi. Service absolutely sucked. I felt like warning everyone who walked in to eat somewhere else.

Will never come back. Sushi was small and uneventful. It was wrapped badly and falling apart. They put broccoli in my friends miso soup and the prices for dinner are really high. Only one waiter and waited an hour to get our food for a group of 10 friends. The 2nd star is only there for the waiter telling us that the food wouldnt come out together. Disappointed.

The couple who owns and runs this restaurant are great...warm smiles and great service. Their sushi is as good as you will find anywhere. The owner started his career in Aspen and then moved here many years ago. I live in Breckenridgeand eat here several times a month. I would recommend this over any other place for its great sushi and low key ambience.

I tried this once, and for us not to give a place a second try is a big thing. The sushi is inferior quality. There is one place in Breck that I would recommend but I would not name it here. They are located in the La Cima Mall on South-West Main. I wouldnt recommend anywhere else, unless you dont know sushi and it doesnt matter how fresh it is to you.

Horrible experience!! Food not good service was worse and ABOVE ALL they over charged us and slapped on a tip of over 25% AFTER tax when confronted they denied it but called us 4 times after we left and the bill dropped by all most $40 dollars! True Story cant make up a terrible experience like that just hoping that I am not sick in the

This is definitely not a place I would return to. Dont waste your time or money. Id go to the other "higher" rated sushi restaurant in Breck... its higher rated for a reason. I hate to say bad things about someone or someones restaurant, so Ill leave it at that. If you love sushi, go to the other restaurant so you wont be disappointed.
