I was in town for my moms birthday and my brothers decided to take her here. The restaurant is very large with two big areas for eating. We parked on the street so Im not sure if they have parking. We were served with some chips and salsa as we made our decisions on what to eat. I settled on a quesadilla, forgot what the whole name was but it was filled with rice, beans, grilled chicken, and cheese (not enough cheese). The quesadilla was basic. Not much flavor and certainly not enough cheese. Everything inside was falling out. It came with a side of guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Not enough of any of that either. Plus the guac was mixed in with some shredded lettuce which was too deceiving for me. It was like a tablespoon of guacamole--not cool. No one raved about the food at our table. My mom enjoyed her molcajete which came with a lot of different food and definitely something to share. I nibbled on some of her food and some shrimp. Not the best flavors, kind of bland. The highlight was probably when they brought a big sombrero for my mom to wear while we sang her Happy Birthday and she blew out the candle from her small flan cake, compliments of the restaurant. I wish I experienced more flavor here. The service was nice and my mom enjoyed her bday late lunch.

This used to be one of the best sit-down Mexican restaurants ever, but theyve updated their menu and the food has changed. Its still fair, authentic Mexican, but its no longer awesome, authentic Mexican ... and the prices have gone up around 40% or more. After I moved from Woodland, I used to drive from out of town to eat here, just like I did on my last visit. If Im in town, I might consider visiting again, but Ill no longer be making the trip just for El Charro.

the waitress was awful. it took her 20 minutes to come take my order as she was standing there talking to her friends. The quesadilla was super greasy and I was only given a half a teaspoon of sourcream. I had to ask 3 times for sugar for my iced tea and I hadf to ask another waitress for it. She was very prompt and polite. I had to ask for my check twice. Awful service!!!

Delicious! Love the soup or salad starter options for the mixed plates which are delicious and huge variety! For those who are picky about what "real" Mexican is - this does feature lots of cheese, so I assume its a bit more tex-mex and a bit less authentic Mexican. Lovely service too, nice family vibe and decent margaritas.

Food is good. There are two rooms that you might be seated in. One is very bright and feels like an elementary school cafeteria, while the other side (with the bar) is more dimly lit and cozy.
