I went here 2years ago it was amazing. Ive been bragging ever since. The ribs where HUGE!! & soooo good. All the prices where steep but the portions where large enough to make it worth it coupled with the quality made this spot an unbeatable choice. I brought my boss there we got the "ribs". Almost 40$ for a cut of meat that was nowhere near the rib cage, on top of that it was not smoked or bbq it was pan fried & literally 95% gristle. I wish i could post pics. The portion of meat whitch was not good at all was the size of a golf ball. The portion of un edible gristle was the sise of a tenis ball. So not only where the portions supper small. The meat was not bbq & completely unedible. I wanted to freak out but my boss told me to keep my cool so i did not say anything other than "I ordered ribs this is not a rib" the waitress answered "oh I dont know what that is I forgot but they told me thats what theyre serving now cuze its like cheaper or somthing" this place is without a doubt the worst place ive been to in 5years or more. I still get made fun of by my boss & other employees almost everyday. Thats how bad the ribs where. You would be better off going to a gas station & getting a microwave burgger or 99cent burrito & tipping the atendent 50$. Im not exaggerating the flavor & quality would be way better. Not to mention your $ would go to a hard working person. Not some already wealthy thief with no morals what so ever. On the bright side. My corn bread was soso & baked beans where as good as the bushes canned beans. But i did go 2hours before they closed so they might have just fu@ked me becouse they ran out of ribs & decided to serve me the old stale leftovers. The waitress was really sweet... & equaly dumb it as almost dead & she messed up at least 1thing on evry1s order. I ordered 30 worth of chicken but got the 8 sandwich instead (i created a seprate side order for my gf) they where out of the side she wanted so just randomly substituted for coleslaw.... Wich she HATES! So yeah i spent 100 got yelled at by my gf. & still recive constant ridicule by my co workers who where all as unhappy as I wad only they have a target for their outrage. 6 of us got robbed for almost 100 each.

My husband and I decided to try this resturant for our Anniversary last night. I had seen the Venice location on Diners, Drive ins and Dives so since this was closer for us we chose this location. We ordered the sweet tea, which was not that sweet if at all. My husband is a nut for bbq and hot sauce and he was not impressed by their selections. The XXX was not hot, the hot tasted like tobasco, one bbq sauce tasted like Heinz 57 and the sweet one tasted like KC Masterpiece. We had hush puppies for starters, they were horrible we only ate half of one. I ordered the Big Blue which is 3 choices of meat, I ordered the Texas rib, tri tip and a hot link with that my sides were mac and cheese, and mashed sweet potatoes. My husband ordered the California King, which is just try tip with a side of beans and collard greens. The beef rib was charred, even the bone was burnt black. the sausage was okay, the tri tip was tough and chewy smothered in sauce. They give you some type of cornbread that was either deep fried or just plain greasy. My mashed sweet potatoes were heavy, and the mac and cheese was mushy. My husband and I were very disappointed. We both had restless sleep last night because it all didnt agree with our stomachs. Both drinking lots of water and hoping this lead ball we feel is in our stomach will pass at some point today. We spent $80 for our meal and tip plus another $7 for valet when you park your own car. We will not go back to this location ever again. Probably scared from even trying another.

I have eaten here many times at the direction of my employer who wanted to join in there as it seems to be so informal. This is not the informal BBQ eatery you think it is however. Beware of your credit card. I was charged almost double on my credit card on 2 different occassions. It took weeks to straighten out. I took a friend with me the last time while she had her credit card charged more than $90 above the actual amount. Listen carefully, pay cash, tell them how you want it cooked but guaranteed to always be overcooked. The food is always overcooked while the staff is less than patient to aid in this. We finally met one of the owners who was so sweet but such a liar on credit card issues. We had to contest with our bank finally by sending in original copies of our tab. They do have a cheap happy hour but beware, you can buy a well drink at $3 but know they add another $1 for any mix. Wine is cheap as are the owners and management. We also met with the manager, Shaun, who is an absolute disaster as manger. My employer has agreed to never return. I suggest you try Zekes up the street, House of Blues(especially on Sunday), Cecils, Wood Ranch BBQ at the Grove(yum). Whatever you do watch your credit card as these are thieves in sheeps clothing. Thet tried to say it was the merchant account not them HELLOOOOO! We turned them over to ths Los Angeles District Attorney who stated they have several complaints against them. Tani

Well been coming here for years. Something has happened to the food. Maybe its the going on over half a year unrepaired bar area bringing the chefs down? The once epic burgers, yes burgers at a BBQ joint, are smaller and always over cooked. They seem to stop putting the sauce on them too. The brisket and pulled pork twice now have been bland and boring. Requiring much more sauce. Almost like its been sitting around for a week lukewarm. Losing the faith. UPDATE I do want to give a thanks and shoutout to the manager for replying to this review. Its good to know businesses pay attention. His reply was friendly and productive. Which is hard to do when dealing with angry customers, heh. We tend to write reviews only when mad or let down and while I try not to do that often, I did get a little "bit" in this negative review. I could have written a more objective negative review than the more pissed off one I wrote. I will leave it here for view, unedited, as it was how I felt at the time of service. Just know Ill be giving Baby Blues another chance soon.

Simply the best southern BBQ you will find in LA! The list of favorites is quite long: Texas beef ribs (IMHO, the "Hoedown" totally rocks it), the Memphis or babyback ribs slathered in your choice of homemade bbq sauce (the best one is the "XXX"), juicy pulled pork doused with their in-house hot pepper infused vinegar, plump grilled shrimp on jalapeno cornbread, sauteed or fried okra, decadent mac and cheese, heavenly mashed potatoes, cotija cheese-laden grilled corn....you simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. And the service is efficient and friendly and the drinks and beer selection are stellar too. Dont miss happy hour or brunch as you can get the best deals too. It is consistently one of my favorite places in LA to eat....whether on a casual afternoon for brunch or a festive birthday celebration. This is one definitely not to miss...totally crave-worthy specialties!!!
