First thing I noticed? Parking is ROUGH. I came here on a Monday night for their all-day happy hour arriving at 6:30 PM. They have a teeny one lane strip of parking. The lane on the other side is reserved for the businesses on the other side, and the signs will promptly tell you that. So I drive further down on the main street and park at a closed-for-the-day Preschool since there didnt seem to be any parking restriction signs. Im glad to say my car was still there after almost 2 hours. Ive been to the HB GyuKaku and this location seems to be bigger. Ironically their parking lot is smaller. Service was great, really friendly waitress and waters/everything we needed was on point. I accidentally dropped one of my chopsticks on the ground and in less than 5 seconds, one of the busboys handed me a new pair. As for the food, I had a $30 groupon so I used it on a Happy Hour Combo that was $45 which came with a decent amount of food: - Salad (LOVE the dressing) - Edamame served cold :( - Assorted appetizers (tuna, wontons, fried stuff) - Miso soup - Assorted meats (Bistro Steak, NY Steak, Spicy Yaki-Shabu, Shrimp Garlic, Chicken Basil) - Garlic Mushroom - Smores The weakest link was the chicken. Although the meat is great, and of higher quality, it is fairly pricey even for Happy Hour. It can also get really loud because the location is just one long room with no barriers/booths.

We came for the OC Restaurant Week lunch. It was such an awesome deal. We had miso soup, a beautiful salad with boiled egg, rice, an appetizer, 3 choices of meat, and smore for dessert per person for just $15. Thats crazy!! The fried pork dumpling appetizer was tasty. Some of our favorite meat/seafood are toro beef, pork belly, beef ribs, and garlic shrimp. Love their ponzu sauce. Service was friendly and attentive. There were a lot of people waiting, and they never rushed us. We also took advantage of the happy hour price for additional items and got sake and $1.95 draft beer. Highly recommend making a reservation before. We had reservation, and was seated right after checking in. The walk-ins who came in before us unfortunately had to wait.

Came with a party of 8 on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. Parking lot is small. Wait time was ~1.5 hours. Service was pretty slow, although servers were friendly and tried to be attentive (e.g. asked frequently for grill changes, refilled our waters). Food was okay. Not worth $35 for the basic AYCE option (its $35 for Friday and Saturday nights). The meat was all marinated, which isnt my cup of tea. Variety of meat isnt as extensive as KBBQ for a similar price range. Id recommend ordering a la carte if going with a larger group, since theres a lot more options. Happy Hour starts at 8:30pm, reducing meat prices by ~$1-2/plate if youre doing a la carte.

My husband and I come here about every other month. We simply make reservations on Open Table and get seated promptly every time - even when its really busy. They have the best customer service and are attentive when it comes to switching out the grilling plate. The food is amazing here. If you like to grill your own meat to your liking, then this is the place for you. Oh and you will absolutely love the Smores dessert! The best thing is that on Mondays, they offer all day Happy Hour on their most of their meat selections and drinks. Its the only place I know that I can get sparkling wine for just $3.

Great place for a full course meal. They have value options ranging from $55, $60 or $75 that gives you varying appetizers, meats that you grill on your own, and dessert. The options are meant for two people, but they do have options for larger parties. The wait staff was very friendly and were more than happy to answer questions regarding cooking and the function of the grill. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you enjoy cooking your own food.

Ive been to this location a few times and have no major complaints. The service is on par with how busy they are at the time, but they are always gracious. I love the food and cooking style. I would come back for the food alone but the deals they offer are fantastic! Today 2 of us are walking out stuffed and satisfied for under $30 including a pitcher of beer (on-the-house for Fathers day special).

I really loved trying this place out. The restaurant is kept very clean. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to help, whether its suggestions or explaining how the grill works. The menu had enough variety to satisfy most people (although probably not vegetarians or vegans.) There are some great happy hour deals you should look out for and they have seasonal promotions as well.

Excelente muy agradable el ambiente y adecuado para una comida animada permitiendo la conversación mientras uno cocina su propia parilla japonesa. Muy atentos y amables

Fun date idea! Make sure to wear comfortable clothes because it got SUPER HOT in there because of all the grills going on. We ordered the dinner for two and it was plenty of food, plus roasting our smores was really fun. Tiny parking lot so you might want to carpool if meeting with multiple people

Made a reservation? Dont expect to be seated at that time. Get seated? Expect to be told that even though you order AYCE there will be a time limit and given the level of service, youll only be able to order three times...weak. Im honestly baffled why/how this place is full each time I go.

Ive only been there one, but this place is great for an outing with friends. Its a little too loud and boisterous for a romantic date, but the food is outstanding and theres plenty of it! Due to its popularity, expect a wait if you go during peak hours.

If you love Japanese BBQ, Gyu is the place to go. The price is higher than KBBQ, but the quality of food here is great. Definitely worth trying if you have never been. Make sure you get the Harami and Hanger steak. Those are the best meats.

Food is good but service is not good enough for the price they charge compared to other competitors like Gen. I will go to Gen Korean BBQ from now on for the price and good service instead of the pricey food with bad service this place offers.

They had 5 open tables and made us wait because we didnt have reservations. I almost dont want to go back because of it. Fillet and Shrimp was really good & The Saki was decent. Still not sure if the good food makes up for the rude service.

This location sucks!!! No ventilation, just sitting in a tiny, cramped, over crowded room filled with smoke! The food was so bland here. Its noisy & packed & uncomfortable. Definitely not a fun hang out dinner spot. Not recommended!!!

Awesome quality and great food. The only thing is that theres always a wait since there is such high demand and the place doesnt have that much seating. Try the bacon wrapped asparagus to et started, then bring on the meat!!

This place is a great value especially during happy hour. For the price, youre getting a lot of food. Service is also pretty good everyone. Quality of the meats could be better but at these prices you cant really complain.

Food was good and I think the course meals are a good value. Service wasnt that good though, but it could be because it was a busy night and we were a large party. Parking is also very limited.
