Flavorful, moist and tender, ready to add any sauce you want or just spiced as it was cooked. Quick and very friendly service for all five of us. From a four year old birthday boy up to a sixty-five year old boy, there were no complaints and little talk while chowing down on the delicious fare. The one thing we didnt try was the chicken, only because the slaw, mac and cheese, links, pulled pork and brisket filled us up beyond our capacities. And the fries. We all shared the fries that were perfectly cooked. Engage them in conversation to find out what you might like and they will take very good care of your hunger pangs. A satisfied walk down the boardwalk is in your future if you eat at Balboa Barbie Q.

The baby back ribs are really juicy and tasty, bbqed to perfect and super soft. Came here for lunch one day and ordered a full rack of ribs with 2 small sides $23.95. The ribs were already cut and each one was pretty big although you get fewer of them compared to the other bbq places. We got the green beans and Texas chili for our 2 sides. Neither was very good, the beans were very bland and mushy, and the chili was very watery and overt salty. Theres an outside patio with seating which was very nice. Parking is a nightmare in the area so plan accordingly.

Exceeded expectations all around. Balboa Barbie-Q is located in the heart of the former Balboa Fun Zone. I was expecting mediocre food, boy was I pleasantly surprised! Ribs were among the best Ive ever had. Pulled pork and brisket, tender and flavorful. Even the slaw is "homemade" and excellent. Prices very reasonable, for what you get. Balboa Barbie-Q is not your typical tourist trap, but an excellent barbecue restaurant in a fun setting.

Hands-down best BBQ joint in the area! And the owners were the nicest most friendly people ever. Tthis was on 4th of July too, at night, after the whole staff had been busting their butts all day. Great experience!! We ribs and pulled-pork, both amazing and with just the right amount of dry rub+smoke, and sauce after. The real way to do it. A gem in Newport!

We ordered chicken breast, pulled pork, coleslaw, beens, corn, fries, some chips and drinks. Every dish ( meat, 2 sides, slide of white not toasted bread) = $13 USD. Unfortunately it was the worst lunch I ever had. Really. I couldnt even finish, I didnt enjoy the food at all. Same with my kids and husband.

Placed order through Doordash only to be called 20 minutes later to be told that their menu on Doordash is incorrect. Waste of time. If your menu is not correct then update it. Its your error, you should make it up to the customer. Finding somewhere else to eat.

This is an amazing restaurant to try out when youre in the area. We got the grilled chicken sandwich, pulled chicken BBQ sandwich and crinkle cut fries. All of it was amazing and so filling! Great portions, fast service and friendly workers. A must-try!
