Used to absolutely love coming here for the spam musubi and the potato mac salad on top of many other things. I dont know if they switched owners and how they prepare everything but my last visit to celebrate my birthday was terrible. Aside from getting both my sides wrong and not noticing until I got home, called and said he didnt recall (literally was just there within 10 minutes dude) but then "corrected" the issue when I showed up. Not taking that into account with my rating the macaroni salad was completely different. Looked way different and honestly like a baby threw up, the recipe was changed or prepared way differently than it always used to be. After hesistently trying it all I could make out flavor wise was celery. Not even a hint of potato, just minced celery and carrot in an absolutely disgusting texture. If i would have known I would have just stuck with the rice or not even came here at all. Def wouldnt have called and came back just to get what I thought was potato mac salad (which i used to absolutely love at this place by the way). It was the overall exclamation point on the meal after the word "letdown" or "dissapointment" Everything we got that was fried seemed like it shared the same fryer oil, so everything smelled and tasted similar that was dunked into it. Maybe at least have different oils for chicken vs seafood? Wont be coming back here again sadly. I guess things just change..

Walked in expecting good service and decent food according to reviews. Asked the cashier to sample the macaroni salad for my pregnant wife. The cashier very politely refused and said that the owner doesnt allow sampling. You just let business walk out the door over a sample... didnt get to try the food but, the place looked good. Ill take my business elsewhere until the manager changes his attitude toward customer service. I could see if they made every batch from scratch, I wouldnt make someone make me a spoon full of something, but the mac salad is sitting right there, already made and wouldnt have taken more than 5 seconds worth of work. Let me know when things change Ill come back and re-write my review.

One of the best Hawaiian BBQ restaurants in the OC. Richard and the team are really helpful. Note: They dont open on Sunday. The other place that is Maui Hawaiian BBQ in Brea (they do a slight better job of cooking their meat and not burning any of it).

Come to Ono Ono if you want the real authentic hawaiian food, instead of flying to Hawaii for it :) It def. gives you the hawaii vibe. The portions are great. The pork is delicious!

Gross. Smelled like cigarette smoke, cashier "didnt really have a favorite" to recommend. Veggies were cold and soggy. Just gross. Place is always empty, now I know why.
