As usual Bunny was excellent!! The food was a different matter. The mushroom appetizer was not as good as it use to be and the cheese was missing. The placemats were missed. The most important issue was my steak. The steak was cooked rare as ordered, however it was a terrible piece of meat. The steak had zero flavor, was very tough and was definitely not prime or choice meat. The marbling was absent and did not possess any of the quality of aged beef as advertised. The best steak I ever had was two years ago at Trabuco Oaks and this one was one of the worst. I can honestly find better meat at Albertsons up on the plano. I thought about a Yelp review, however that seems a little vengeful. And I did not say anything at the time of our visit being that dinner was a birthday gift from my parents. I am not sure if the ownership is new or corners are being cut to save money. All I know is that meal was on par with a dinner from Sizzler. Sorry for the negative reporting, however it was deserved and I hope you appreciate the honest criticism. This is a copy of a feedback left for the owner/management. It was added to Google & Yelp due to lack of response.

As most postings here say, the best thing here is the beef; other items are mediocre. On a recent visit, our steaks were perfectly prepared, appropriately tender, and tasty. The sides were another matter. The house salad greens obviously come out of a bag. The beans are bland. And the baked potatoes were undercooked. As for service and presentation, one expects cotton or linen napkins in a restaurant with such high prices, not paper, or cheap commercial flatware and glassware The service was anonymous and uninformed, probably because the serving staff probably doesnt speak English very well or understand it. The wine service was abominable. The beverage server, supposedly the bartender, could not correctly identify or describe the wines on the list. Neither could the waitress. This is unacceptable in a steakhouse where patrons will want a good red to go with their main course and may find many of the listed wines unfamiliar. Go for the novelty of the atmosphere and a good steak,

Fun quirky steakhouse in Trabuco Canyon. Uneven floors, low ceilings, gravel parking lot. Top items to look forward to: - Side salad (nice light Italian housemade dressing) - Cherry Gizmo (dessert, which I gladly ruin my diet for) - Steaks! My family has been going since I was a kid...but I hadnt been in a few years and this last visit wasnt up to my memories Prices are too high for the steaks (which is what they are known for), and many other items seemed too high as well...a price Id pay at a place with white tablecloths, pristine plates and cutlery, etc.. I always remember the fries being stellar, but this time they were bland and floppy. The sides in general were kind of lackluster...missing flavor.

Used to be my favorite steak house been coming here for over 30yrs quality has degraded over the yrs due to change of ownerships & quality of meat. The location & outdated decor wont be enough to bring people back if you dont change the quality of your food. I wish I had money to buy this place & bring it back to its glory. It would be considered a historical place in O. C. if it had right management & owner behind it..

Overpriced for the quality. Quaint and charming with very nice staff. It is unfortunate the food is not as special as the location. Ribs were good, garlic toast had no garlic, kabobs were bad and prices very high for what you get. Glad we visited, I used to come here when I lived in the state where it was a special place to visit. I wont be back.

This place made me feel at home. Its rustic, Western, and with a real ranch feel. The steaks were so tender I could cut it with a fork. The beans and baked potato were not as good as the steak, but still great. Its fun to watch people ride this horses by. Dont miss out on the general store, its right next door!

Been here all my life and this place beats my old favorite, Hannahs. Margarita Mike says best steak around. Experiencing my 56th birthday here, September 15. Definitely recommend the 12 ounce filet done rare and blackened. I didnt even get a lesson on ordering my steak. Tell them Margarita Mike sent you.

This formerly great steakhouse has gone to hell. New management/ownership has reduced quality of food - from excellent to very mediocre. Our steak was tough and not cooked to order. Companions prime rib special was all bone and fat. So sad to see another great restaurant reduced to mediocrity.

Big juicy steaks, friendy staff and nice and cosy restaurant decorated with cut off ties. The meat here is terrific. Corn fed beef from Nevada grilled over Seqoiua coal, very nice flavors. Scienic drive to the restaurant. This is a place the locals go to. Well worth the money.

If youre looking for an amazing steak thats off the beaten path, this is the place. The ambiance was great and the service was fantastic. Its not a cheap steakhouse but the overall quality was worth the price.

Delicious cuts of steak, homemade fries, and large portions. The ties on the walls and the trees coming out of the floor make this a very atypical restaurant in Orange County. Certainly worth a visit.

Went in for a steak dinner. Our first visit since the change in ownership a year ago. Sheri did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. The resturant was very quiet and staff was very attentive.

Fantastic Steaks, friendly staff. This place is very unique & rustic, hidden away in the middle of Trabuco Canyon. Definitely worth the trip.

Quality steaks. Sides and salads could use a tune up. Bagged salad and wishbone for $42 is a bit steep.

Great little spot tucked in the woods, great for a steakhouse without the steakhouse pomp.
