The food is fine, about on par what youd expect from a semi-fast food burger place, but it costs a bit more than youd expect. Fries, for example are over $3 for the smallest size, but you do get a ton. Today I was a bit put off of the service when I came in and attempted to use a Five Guys gift card I had received. I was told their "server" was down and they couldnt accept it, but this was only local to their store. I was slightly annoyed, but the manager said there was nothing they could do which I can accept, but she made no move to make up for the inconvenience as I would have expected, given the reputation of Five Guys. The guy who took my order was cool about it though, he said if he was able to hed have liked to comp something but only the manager could do it (which she did not). Oh well. Ill go back when I can use the gift card, but I dont think Ill return to this Five Guys ever again after that. Id rather go and get a burger from "The Counter" off of Lindero - Its MUCH better, in both quality, amount, and service, for maybe 2-3 dollars more ultimately.

You Californians must really enjoy the crack In & Out must cook into their gross food, because Five Guys was a thousand times better. Being a future resident to this area, I had a business trip to take a quick view of LA and to do a little free roaming. I had already tried 5 Guys before in Eugene, OR and really liked it. I had not had In & Out before. My first visit was to the In & Out near T.O., and let me tell you, after eating it, I have NO idea why people were literally lined up out the door for that crap. The burger was flat and greasy, the fries were bland and boring, the milkshake about on par with a gross McDonalds shake. Went to 5 guys the next day, and this restaurant was as good as the one I had in Eugene. Fresh bun, not overly greasy burger, fresh crisp condiments (you can actually get condiments here instead of just "animal style"), and perfectly seasoned fries. I know what burger joint Ill be headed to when I make the move.

They are very generous with toppings on the burgers, even the small size burger. I love it! Whenever I find a restaurant that has Diet Dr. Pepper, I remember it. 5 Guys had Mr. Pibb Zero, plus you could add cherry and/or vanilla flavor to it. I love that. We were picking up carry out, so I wasnt going to buy a soda because we had plenty at home. I didnt even know Mr. Pibb Zero even existed. I added some cherry, too. Delicious! I can even get Coke Zero and added cherry to it. You can get grilled onions and/or grilled mushrooms, plenty pickles without paying extra. Tomatoes and lettuce, etc. Or A1 sauce, jalapenos, mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce....I know Im forgetting something. LOL Great-tasting food. They provide free peanuts while waiting for your order.

Went here right after it opened and another time a month later to give it another try after some cajoling by a coworker who made us go the first time. After each visit, I felt ill afterwards. The cheese on the burger tasted like that cheap, waxy Kraft singles stuff. The burger was very undercooked. The toppings I asked for were grilled onions and mushrooms - the onions were soggy without flavor and the mushrooms were not cooked long enough. The only saving grace had to be the cajun fries. Final complaint is the price, this was upwards $12. I could get practically the same thing at In-n-Out for almost half price and their stuff tastes way better, especially if you ask for the fries well-done.

I am shocked to see any bad reviews. I have been to several 5 guys..Washington D.C, Chicago and New York. If there is one in route we will go there. We were happy when one finally opened up in California, at least near us in Caly. The variety of what you can add on is amazing. They actually cook it right there...fresh and all. You can see them cooking them and the fries are as amazing as the burgers and dogs. I love this place, no matter what City they are consistent. And yes free peanuts and largest selection of fountain drinks. I personally feel it is better than In and Out. This is my top 5 favorite burger and hot dog place

Prices are ridiculous. $8 for a burger. Not a meal. Just the burger. We went in on a Saturday when there were maybe two other people there. Got two burgers, 1 regular order of fries, and two drinks. It cost $23. I ordered mine with no tomatoes. Got tomatoes. Girlfriend got a veggie burger. No veggie patty. Just a regular burger without a meat patty. The burgers were fresh off the grill and they were a soggy, greasy mess. All the flavors that may have been there were drowned out by the sheer amount of cheese. This place is an absolute rip off. You can get twice as much food and quality at In-N-Out.

I really enjoy a delicious gourmet burger with all the toppings you could want on it. I particularly enjoy the double bacon cheeseburger with all the fixings. It would be nice if these delicious burgers came in a combo. The seasoned steak fries are excellent. You get alot that seem to disappear very quickly. They are that good. They have all you can eat unshelled peanuts while you wait for your delicious gourmet burger to be ready. Your first bite into one of their delicious burgers puts you in "Burger Heaven". Try it yourself; youll see what I mean.

Honestly wasnt impressed not even alil. O ya I said no onions, n ya....I was debating if I should complain but I decided not to cuz the employees already looked confused enough. Lol 5 Guys is a funny name....

Came here for a 2nd time and Ive reached the same conclusion. Great juicy burger, ton of fries but something is missing. I think the burger is so juicy its like biting into juicy air or beef cotton candy. Maybe iits why they give u so many fries. Con: $12+ for burger, fries and soda. Not good when Inn-n-Out is $7+. With that said, I will return but itll be rare. Ill prefer Inn-n-Out or Daglas Burgers (Winnetka) on a more regular basis. Try it. It is enjoyable.

Over hyped I wasnt impressed with the food or the service. The restaurant charged my card but said it didnt go through and there is still a charge on my card. The girl at the front forgot to tell cook we were there for our order and we waited forever until I finally asked when our food would be ready, she apologized our food had been sitting there and was cold. Still had to wait for the fries and when we got our order my burger was made incorrectly =(

Been there a few times but yesterday was my last. Burger was so rare it tasted raw, and no mushrooms or grilled onions as ordered. Took it back, they brought it back with the mushrooms and onions but cooked the same way but they said it was perfect. I guess they dont know how to cook past pink. Sorry, I like my burgers actually cooked. Ill stick with In n Out, I know I wont feel sick after eating there.
