Very disappointing. Spent nearly fifteen minutes just waiting for water. Had to ask for drinks we ordered after that three times before finally getting our drinks. Spent another twenty minutes trying to get our waitress attention to order food. I ordered my food "very very mild" and made it very clear that Im pregnant and want mild as possible. Waitress was actively ignoring our table and helping everyone around us. Another table right next to us got the same treatment and just walked out. Wish wed done the same. When our food showed up about 30 minutes later, I took one bite of my food and it was so spicy I had to run to the bathroom to wash out my mouth to try and calm the heat. When I finally came back, you could see the piles of red chilies in my food. When we complained and said we wanted our check so we could leave, it took another fifteen minutes to get boxes and have our check located, and get the manager to pay attention long enough to actually pay our check. During which time, the manager kept blaming me for the food being made as spicy as possible. Overall, a huge waste of time and money. Never going back.

Foods fine. Service is horrific. Food took over 45 minutes and when asked, it turns out it was sitting on a cart UNATTENDED in the DINING ROOM. When it was finally served (appetizers, salads, and entrees all at once), the server did not know who had what and just set all the food down. He left so quickly that I had to get up and ask someone else for silverware, since I wasnt provided any. On top of half of the food being room temp by this point, we also found cling-wrap in the rice. Throughout the entire experience we were not apoligized to once, but were given a brief, unemotional "we had a lot of takeout orders." I live thai, but from now on Ill stick to the offering in placerville, or drive down to Folsom.

Chantara is an amazing restaurant with great food and an amazing ambiance. The food is delicious and I go there all the time. There are two cons though. The first are that the portions are small. Delicious, but small. Expecially for the price its expensive for an Average Joe to go there to eat and get that portion size. Lastly, the bathrooms arent the cleanest bathrooms in the world. Other than that this restaurant is worth going to.

The bad: -Took several minutes to be seated (maybe 2 families in the restaurant). -Was never asked if we wanted a drink. -Too much sauce on the Drunken Noodles. -Meat was cold and dry. -Gratuity was included at 18% on the bill. -Never refilled water (again, the place wasnt busy). -The meat in my friends food was also cold and dry. The good: -My friends curry base sauce was amazing.

Service was very poor. Food very bad, soup served in an old aluminium bitten up bowl. Soup had barely any ingredients (a few small pieces of mushrooms and a few shrimps) mostly overly sweetened coconut milk and water mixture. Not once the waiter ask us how was the service. Do not recommend it. Hopefully management will take notice of our feeds if they want to improve.

this my second try and I believe this going to be it. pad Thai looks like it was left over from yesterday or worse another table, taste is barely better than frozen pad Thai from Traders Joe. green onions, the very few I had, are definitely from 2015. if you like GOOD Thai.. Google somewhere else.

Slow and inattentive service!! Monday night with a fairly empty restaurant and it took 30 mins for the waiter to take our order. The food was fair but entrees came out 20 mins apart. My wife was done with her meal by the time I got mine. Not recommended!

Our favorite Thai restaurant. Been there many times on many occasions. ESPECIALLY love sitting outside overlooking the lake on those warm summer evenings. We even have "our own" table! Food and service cosistently excellent, even on the 4th of July.

Been a patron for many years. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant around. The newer staff is a little rough around the edges but they still welcome me back every time by name. Chantara still gets two thumbs up from me and my recommends to friends.

I have been to Thailand and eaten at many Thai food restaurants. Chantara is one of the best restaurants I have visited and I go there all the time. The food is very good and service friendly. My favorite is the Panang roasted vegetable curry.

I wanted to have a romantic dinner and was very disappointed with the experience: waitress service was unacceptable, their beef was rubbery & impossible to eat, we both couldnt finish our meals - I will never come back here.

Had their very good appetizer plate. Everything was good! Also had their drunken noodles, better than any I have had at other Thai restaurants. Wait staff was good, and very patient, even with some very trying customers.

Food great, service is a 2. If you arent in a rush and like quiet dining, the food is great. It is pricey for how much they give you so be prepared to fork out some cash if you have children with you.

Great food and friendly service. One of our favorite places to eat. My wife likes the Pineapple Rice and Drunken Noodles. I enjoy the Red and Green Curry dishes. Dont miss the coconut milk soup.

Got take out last night, never again. Hot food served in styrene foam containers, sticky rice so hard it actually snapped off one of my teeth when I tried to bite it!

If you like the taste of exotic spices, youll like this place. Tasty food for a reasonable price, good location with an excellent view, and soothing environment.

Decent food at a good price. The layout inside is a bit odd and it took a while for our food to come out, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about.

Amazing Thai food. Great decor. If you ask for spicy food they give it to you unlike some other Thai places where they think you cant handle it.

Best Thai food in Sacramento region. Prices are little bit high as compared to other Thai restaurants. Drunken noodles is the highlight here.

Go often with the family, the food is amazing. Customer service has always been terrible, you wait forever, but the food makes it worth it.

Service is great, the food is just ok. I was fairly disappointed with the vegetarian salad rolls. Portions of food for the price is good
