One of our favorite local restaurants and probably our most frequented. We lived about a 15-20 minute drive away and the short trek is always worth it. They food is remarkably authentic for Javanese Indonesian. The restaurant is owned and operated by a local couple, she was born and raised in Indonesian and her husband is a US-native. It is staffed primarily by people of southeast asian descent. My girlfriend is from Malaysia originally and enjoys speaking Malay/Indonesian with the staff. Highly recommend the Nasi Goreng Java with an extra side of the sambal. For a second dish I would get the Nasi Campur. Two people can easily share one dish, so plan to take leftovers. I really cannot speak highly enough of this place. Although, it is cash only so be ready!

Food: 3 Decor: 2 Service: 5 I came here with my mom and brother for dinner. I had a hard time finding the place, and after calling, realized its behind the UPS on Saratoga Ave. We were surprised that it was so small (there are two tables and seating for about 8-10 people total). Unfortunately, I cant remember what exactly I had ordered other than the pork rind curry, which came with a chicken thigh and hard-boiled egg. My brother ordered a similar curry, and my mom ended up getting a salad since most of the items on the menu seemed to be fried. Service was excellent. I always love seeing local restaurants like these since its very admirable. Ill just have to come by again to try something else next time.

This place is not visible from main road and its literally hidden behind a deli shop. This doesnt feel like a restaurant, but more like a home with living room full of tables and chairs. As far as the food they had some interesting options in the menu. Coconut rice combo was pretty good, it had a good variety for a combo. Mie goreng was alright, nothing to rave about, except for the fact it is really spicy which is a good thing for me, not so much for my wife. The owners of the place was super friendly and nice, I would definitely come back to try different items in the menu!

Another great hole-in-the-wall type place - my favorite type of eatery. I am a foodie who cares more about the food than the decor. The Ayam Penyet is excellent; love the sauce too. The beef rendang is good too. The kids love their unpublished kids meal, which is stack of yellow - white rice, 2 potato patties, and 2 pieces of fried chicken. The Ais Campur is not shaved ice (which I was expecting), but rather an ice drink. It was good though.

Best Indonesian restaurant in the bay area! Their menu and food presentation has improved signuficantly since I visited a couple years ago. I ordered the nasi bali, which was a special that day. It was a good portion, though not cheap. Love the chicken palalah! Their cendol is also very good. Not too sweet like most others. The "sambal terasi" is an additional $1, but it is extremely spicy!

this place is awesome! hard to find but youll be glad you did when you do. The best Indonesian food ive ever had at a restaurant. For those who havent tried Indonesian cuisine, its probably the finest of all the asian cuisines and this place does it the best. The owners are really great people too so theres 2 good reasons to go and support the place. You wont regret it.

Hole in the wall with delicious Indonesian food. Not easy to find as its behind the street facing shops. Was crowded on Saturday lunch time, we got seated at a shared table right away but there was a line of 4-5 parties when we left. They only take cash. Highly recommended if you want authentic indo! Great friendly service

This place is "For Real!" Best Indonesian food since the passing of my Oma in 1977. Great quick friendly service. She LOVES to cook and you can taste it. No short cuts taken in this kitchen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Indonesian/Java/Surabaya Food. Remember they are NOT facing the street, enter from back parking lot... ENJOY!

The food at this place is heavenly. I constantly crave the chicken satay. I have also greatly enjoyed the currys, chili eggs, fish cake appetizer, special roasted chicken (only served some days). It is a tiny hole in the wall run by a very nice family. Dont be afraid. Try it.

I moved to the states from Singapore and have traveled around south east Asia. This place is very close to the original Indonesian food and its great. To my taste it was a bit salty other wise the food was authentic and I enjoyed it.

This place is a bit hard to find if youre unfamiliar with Saratoga Village (the entrance is actually behind Big Basin). Once you find it, you will not be disappointed by the food. Bonus points for being a bit more affordable as well.

Indonesian food about as authentic as youll get outside of Indonesia, including the "hotness" (so it might be good to ask for very mild unless you like it really hot). The service is indeed very friendly.

Very interesting food that is not common in this area. Try the chendol drink with your meal. Place is easy to miss since the entrance faces the parking lot instead of the street.

Authentic Indonesian food in a small location hidden inside the back parking lot. Our favorite was the Nasi Goreng Java. The shrimp chips were fresh.
