When you go to a restaurant, there are a couple things you look for, quality of the food, how much they give you, the prices, etc. This is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at or ordered from (I made that mistake too, fool me twice, shame on me). Food: Lousy - I dont think any knowledge of Indian cuisine has ever been shared with the cooking staff - all Hispanic in descent, although thats not necessarily bad when trained in the tradition of the cuisine they are attempting to produce, it is when they dont know what they are doing. At all. Example - order something spicy, and they bring you the same thing with a side of sliced jalepenos. Ghe-tto! Price: Expensive. Not worth it, especially considering: Portions: Tiny. Service: Poor. They are grumpy and mismanaged, youll likely not see any smiles the whole time youre there. You certainly wont want to smile when you take a bite, and youll positively frown when you see what you paid for that dung they served you. Went there once (disgusting) and tried again (bland and pricey)and then gave them a shot with take-out (I was starving). You know how they say hunger is the best seasoning"? Well my response is, well-seasoned crap is still crap. I ordered samosas and pakoras (how can you mess those up?!) and they were small, flavorless, and cold. Doubtlessly not even cooked to order. Go ahead and eat there if you dare. Id rather eat a dead rat.

I dont understand all the bad reviews. Everyone who knows me calls me a picky eater, and I have found their food to be consistently tasty, healthy, and fresh. I cant comment on the nan because I eat chapati. I live near Dhaba and have eaten there a number of times in the past 2-3 years. If the service is a bit slow, thats because the food is freshly prepared. THe waiters are friendly and pleasant. I was told they buy their vegetables from a local Farmers market. THey make a vegetable in a marvelous cashew sauce. Im planning to go there tomorrow nite and will let you know if I am disappointed!

Dhaba has been a go-to place for my GF and I whenever we desire Indian cuisine. The staff is beyond friendly and the food from local markets is first rate and incredibly delicious and fresh. We love love love the salmon Tikka that melts in your mouth like butter, the chicken or lamb vandaloo, the saag-paneer, the non oily samosas, the green peas and potatoes among others tasty dishes. We cant recommend this place enough as we rate it one of our favorite destinations like we were cooking at home. Truly a gem in Venice.

ALL dishes we sampled were PHENOMENAL especially the 2 vegetarian specials. The food seemed a bit lighter (prepared with less fat and cream perhaps?) than most other Indian cuisine Ive had, which allowed subtleties in texture and flavor to emerge that were GORGEOUS and HIGHLY GRATIFYING! The nan was crisp and the chicken Tikka tender and flavorful. The restaurant will serve 1/2 portions allowing one to enjoy a wider variety of choices at one seating. Wine was priced to enjoy and the service excellent.

The morning after (always a good sign) our dinner at Dhaba; I feel nourished, nurtured and a sense of calm satisfaction about choosing this wonderful restaurant. Our menu choices were a perfect combination to share with my partner, daughter and her partner (who grew up in India) and we all enjoyed the atmosphere, our waitress as well as the food. I highly recommend it!!!

We really loved the food, very tasty and authentic. Tried the naan with hummus and the naan was so soft and just melting. The entrees were extremely tasty. The hosts were very polite and very accommodating to our request even though the kitchen was almost closed. Would surely recommend and visit if we get a chance again

Great family run restaurant--fresh ingredients, nuanced flavors and spices. Coconut shrimp, lamb saag and salmon tender, moist & delicious. Eggplant, cauliflower and root vegetable dishes too. Service is friendly and helpful. Simple but lovely decor, especially the outside patios. Recommend without qualification.

Worst customers service Ever!!!! Last time I will ever come. No parking. No free bread or anything Else. Did not want to split that tab so the party will have a more expensive tip. Did Not give the chance to tip already included which I was not happy for. Food. Look like someone through It up. Sloppy.

The best way to describe the food at this place - Reminded me of HOME. The food was excellent, the taste fabulous, non greasy, non fattening, and SUPER FRESH. Cannot wait to go back here. And its not that pricy. For what they are offering in Santa Monica, CA its really excellent.

Came here for lunch with colleagues. Food was authentic and a great value. They had a bunch of lunch specials. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and that came with a side and small salad. If Im ever in the area again I wouldnt mind coming back for lunch.

I dont usually review restaurants but its obvious to me that the 1 star reviews here are written by the same person. The food at Dhaba is exceptional. Ive been eating here, or from here, for years and theyve never let me down.

This place is great. Pretty sure all these negative ratings are from samosa house that just opened across the street as they are all exactly 8 months old and the samosa house opened 8 months ago
