I went back to see how much an economical approach to having dinner would turn out at Village Tandoor: I ordered the Chefs Special which was about $18 - included on a fix tray - Tikka Masala. Pretty good value I thought for a complete meal. I ordered a large Taj Mahal which I thought would be fine for the duration of the meal. I waited long enough for my meal that I was almost finished my beer before the meal came. The food here is more than good and I am a trusted referral considering I seek out Indian restaurants all over the world, this one is top 3 in the LA area. I was forced to order another beer - for me I need a good beer or wine to enjoy a good meal. When the bill came it was $40 plus tip! Expensive for the area? The beers were $8? Although the place was somewhat busy in my humble opinion these prices will deter the average hard working patron, especially solo eaters. Instead special occasion customers - not people out of the area. If the prices were more conducive to the current economic climate this restaurant might find itself booking tables days if not weeks in advance. Not a glamourous location to say the least but priced as if.

The food here was the best Indian food Ive ever had, and Ive lived all over the country. The service was poor. Luckily the food was phenomenal and made up for it. We had the: Tandoori Chicken 5/5 A+++!! Garlic Naan: SOOO Fresh! 5/5 A+++! Chicken Curry: PHENOMENAL. Ive never had something so tasty. Lamb Curry: Quite good! Everything was super-fresh and very tasty. The restaurant itself is very attractive and well maintained. Everything is clean and new looking, the decor is very pleasant. Our waiter was our only complaint. We were very hungry and it took him almost 10 minutes to show up at our table after were seated. Dinner took a long time to arrive, however, that may have been the kitchen, (but it was very fresh, so it was worth it.) The waiter was very unfriendly and not interested in working or customers what-so-ever. Overall I gave it a 4 stars because the food was amazing and I will go back.

I WOULD GIVE LOWER THAN ONE STAR BUT I CANT! You might as well be throwing $50 into a trash can. This restaurant has been on the decline for 1 year now. You can never walk in and find a familiar server and cooks change all the time. All the servers are college students who dont even care. We had to ask for everything that is usually brought to us before hand. The key to Indian food is the spices and flavor but they only put out bland crap. The service is terrible we had to ask for plates for our main courses. We told the server and he told us the chefs dont care anymore. DO NOT COME HERE. The chicken has no marination and tastes like its injected with water. The curry tastes like flavored water. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

Village tandoor would be one of my online ordering go tos, unfortunately today, I wasnt all that pleased with my delivery! The delivery man was nice, but the packaging looked like my order was handled roughly. The containers as seen in the pic were broken and leaking all over the counter. I had ordered the garlic chicken tandoor, curry vegetables and salad. The chicken tandoor was quite dry and wasnt all that flavorful! The vegetables tasted fine, it would be nice if the vegetables were fresh rather than frozen! All in all, perhaps it was a busy night, it just doesnt leave a very good impression when the containers are cracked open and damaged! Total waste of money!!!!!!

You definitely get what you paid for when going to an all you can eat place. You shouldnt expect too much. You get what you paid for. The food choices are very selective. There is tandoori chicken, some vegetarian masala, etc. Going to a buffet like this allows you to taste different dishes and maybe find one you like so the next visit, you might just order that a la carte. I wish there were more food, but it is what it is. I enjoyed it with awesome company.. See what you think!! Theres nothing left to say really. oh they dont rush you to get out of the place.

This place has great menu prepared items and also a pretty OK veg option for lunch. I have regularly come here, and while ordering things from menu are better, I have frequented their lunch buffet. I think in the last 10 years it is one of very few buffet style lunch places I have had and been ok with. For the area this is a very good place for Indian food. Its better looking than the shermanway and reseda Indian market that I love. But the options at India spice are in your face and often I enjoy more. Maybe they have more veg/vegan options ?

I am first off a huge fan of indian food, and I found this place to be awesome! We ordered lamb curry Which was very good, as well as lamb shahi korma. The korma dish was absolutely amazing! Perfect array of spices in a very rich creamy sauce. The lady that took our order was also very helpful in explaining what the dishes werelike and how we should order based on our liking and preparation of dishes. Small portions but extremely filling and still took home leftovers. Very euphoric!

Spent nearly a.hundred dollars on dinner. Most I spent on Indian food. WORST Indian food Ive ever had. Ingredients tasted old and stale. Seasoning was horrible. I think Indian food is the best, but this left such a horrible aftertaste I would NOT suggest this place nor ever order from here again. I dont know how this place could have a 4.1 rating Definitely not deserved. So many better places. Eat at your own risk. Real waste of money!

I have been here for dinner a few times and have yet to try their lunch buffet. The times I have come in, service has been good. I ordered the Chicken Makhni and recommend it. I like my food spicy and when I requested it hot, it was pretty hot even for me and I have a high heat tolerance so tread lightly. I hope to try the lunch buffet soon.

Food was great. Unfortunately, there are not enough servers during the LIGHT hours of operation when the restaurant was mostly empty. One server refused to refill my water after I asked him to. I had to ask another server, who helped me.Will not go again.

Great service! Very friendly staff! Easy on line ordering for a fast delivery!... Average flavor though. But hey its north valley cant expect too much from the kitchens. Looking for great flavors in your Indian food, must drive down to Ventura Blvd.

The food is so tasteless that I want to give it negative stars but unfortunately I cant. My taste buds were looking for flavor but couldnt find them. They call themselves as Indians restaurant but its more closer to McDonalds than to Indian food.

Only been here a few times, but I believe one reason its enjoyable Indian food is because I could taste the deep richness of blends of herbs composed to create a symphony of succulent taste of the curries. I like the chicken saag, its stellar.
