Went in for my Anniversary dinner with my Husband. Food was OK but Service was HORRIBLE and VERY DISAPPOINTING. We were browsing through their menu on their website and came across a coupon for 15%off for Dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Anniversary was on Tuesday so after we were done with our dinner we asked the server about the dinner discount they have advertised on their website. His response was he is unaware about it but can give us 10%off if we pay cash. To the 15% off dinner discount he asked us to talk to his manager. When we talked to the manager about it he simply denied that and asked us to bring the coupon in print. We explained him that the coupon on their website says no where to PRINT and PRESENT and it is on their own website not a 3rd party coupon. To which he replied that "it doesnt say that we can show it on phone either"..Seriously!!! If it doesnt say anything how the coupon should be presented, you should take it in either form!!! And when we talked about the 10% cash discount, he denied that too!!! We called our server who told us about the 10% discount on cash payment and he changed his statement saying that he meant on a CASH CARD!!! What the hell in the world is a cash card??? I have had the worst experience in customer service at this place and I am not going their ever again. I am going to convey the same to my family and friends. The whole matter was not about the discount, it was about how you acknowledge your own publishing. By denying the coupon on your own website are you trying to convey that it is a fake publicity to get the customers in and you dont intend to offer any discounts???

People beome reckless when they are made to feel they are one of the best restaraunts in the area.. this makes them over confident and they start slipping .... this is exactly true with the management there .... we had a dinner on 4th sept.. we really enjoyed it ... I dont say excellent but was good.. so after a couple of days we went in for a lunch buffet.. this time we could see the real colors of the people managing the restaraunt .. they want your bucks .. but they want you to move out fast .. and on top of it ... even when your kid is dining they politely ask you if they can make it as a take away .. I wanted to show them the middle finger but really kept quiet because I did not want to send a wrong message to my kid ... these people are bound to go on the decline .. take my word ... and that day only the GOD can save them and their business... It is always the soft skills that matter in a service oriented industry than anything else.... so keep a watch on these guys....

I have dined at this restaurant multiple times. The food is average, definitely NOT the same standard or taste as the original in Madras. The Sambar is tasteless. I would call it MEXICAN sambar ! I asked the manager why he cant make it better like they do in Madras. He said, the customers here are "Americans" meaning white folks and they dont like SPICY sambar. What about the real INDIANS who come to eat there? I asked him how he can claim to be "authentic" South Indian cuisine when you cannot even make an authentic South Indian sambar. Even the coconut chutni is bland and tasteless. Nothing has changed since. The management could care less, as long as more people do not complain.

after moving from Bay area we were truly disappointed with the quality of Indian food in woodland hills until we found woodlands indian cuisine...its our saviour...even though I am a non-vegetarian I like the authentic South Indian style food served here...weekend brunch buffet for less than 10$ is the highlight... Good news is that they are opening a new chettinad style non-veg restaurant at 7257 Topanga Canyon Boulevard CA 91303-1241, replacing the existing arya bhavan...eagerly waiting for it.....

Amazingly delicious indian food. The Saturday/Sunday lunch buffet is a great value. All you can eat and the choices you have to choose from vary from week to week. You get a Dosa with each buffet. If you dont know what Dosa is youll soon be craving it. My favorite is Mysore Masala Dosa. Service is very courtious and attentive. The decor is good, clean and comfortable, but you wont be blown away by the inside. I *highly* recommend this place for all. Cant be disappointed.

Ok the main reason of their good ratings is that there is no competition for them in the south indian arena. The buffets are overrated and over last several montths they tend to make dishes which are easier to make. Cocunut chutneys needs to have more cocunut and ginger to bring in the flavor, it tasted bland. Sambar gravy needs to be more thick. Using fresh tomatoes instead of canned purees will create better flavor. Oh and waiter Matthew sometimes thinks we come to eat for free

Been for the lunch buffet. Not all the dishes are good. Medhu Vada was good, Curd rice was good. Parota want good, too oily. Bought masala dosa, ended up eating with sambar as they did not provide enough stuffing. Okra wasnt done good. They havent choosen their okra. Spinach kootu was also not good. Did not have hope of carrot halwa from the look of it, so did not try it.

This is an excellent India restaurant for south India food delicacies. It is the best restaurant for authentic south Indian food in Los Angeles area. I always love the lunch buffet there, however all other dishes are delicious as well. I would highly recommended this restaurant to anyone who really want to enjoy a authentic and mouth watering south Indian food.

When I moved to LA last july, this was the first place I found near my place. Very homely. Now I am there every week. The owner makes you anything even those not on menu. He has lot of culinary interests. If you come to LA, dont miss eating in this typical south indian restaurant. My favorite is dosa and he can make any new type you ask for. The BEST IN CLASS.

Granted, the place was 1/4 full for the Sunday afternoon buffet, but the staff went out of their way to help me out. My hand is in a cast, and they immediately sprang into action and served my food for me at the buffet (avoiding my food allergies), gave tasty recommendations, and even carried my plate back to my seat! The food was delicious (but not vegan)!

Great food, great service. Everyone there is very nice and accommodating. If youve never tried Southern Indian food, may I suggest you go on a day they have buffet (Wed and Sun I believe). This gives you an opportunity to try things you may have never ordered. Ive never had anything bad there!
