We went this eat breakfast at Walnut Avenue Cafe on Sunday-Fathers Day. We had 4 adults, 1 child that was 2 years old and 1 child in a car seat that needed to be seated. We arrived at 11:15 a.m. and were told we would be seated in approximately 30 minutes. 11:30 a.m. came and went and we continued to sit and wait for a table. Knowing that it was fathers day and busy, we patiently waited and continued to see other parties that came in after us being seated promptly. By 12:20 p.m. an hour later, we still had not been seated and I was pretty upset at this point. I went up to the hostess to find out where were on the list. First of all we were not on the regular list-our name was up in the top right hand corner of the wait list!! They just continued to pass us up and seat groups of 4-5 and leave us in limbo. I told the girl that it wasnt fair to see other people being seated before us and they arrived a half hour after us-she then told me that it was because of the carseat that they couldnt seat us faster!!! Are you kidding me? I told her we usually dont put the car seat on a chair anyways and we would be fine in a booth and could just leave the car seat on the ground..then it was because the car seat was a safety hazard and they had to wait for certain tables to open up and the people were staying longer than expected. I was so irrate at this point and said it would of been nice to know that the carseat would of been an issue and we could of choosen another place to eat sooner and had no idea they would of started seating other parties before us like they did with no indication of how long we would actually have to wait. We waited one hour anf 15 minutes and when I confronted the issue, they said the table we were going to need for a carseat was still occupied. Then this manager comes out and acts like he is going to help resolve the problem, but is clueless as well as to what good customer service was about-he made excuses and didnt offer any solution to these unfair situation. Bottom line, we will never go back and i suggest if you have a baby-be careful about picking this place to eat..we didnt stay-we went to Zacharys instead and they had no problem accomodating our baby in a carseat in a timely manner. It was a fair wait with no stupid games as Walnut Avenue Cafe was playing. The food is overrated and the customer service stinks!!

Due to circumstances, i ended up eating breakfast in town this select Saturday - and i was very pleased with the Walnut Avenue Café. I dont eat breakfast out other than a couple times a year, but after this, i may end up eating out more regularly. Everyone working at the cafe was very welcoming, polite, and oh-so-caring. Though i was eating alone, i felt i was in the midst of family. My Chorizo scramble was excellent - not too cheesy or spicy, and the muffin and homefries that came with it were delectable. It was definitely a hearty breakfast; at a good price too (9 something). This was a very positive experience, and i most definitely see myself returning in the near future. Highly recommended to anyone visiting town or in search of a new place to meet old friends. Thank you, Walnut ave Cafe!

Great food. Sandwiches, breakfast, and service are all great. It is a little irksome at first that they dont serve fries, but after one or two trips here youll realize that you dont miss them at all. I usually opt in favor of the salad as Im not a fan of their chips and salsa(maybe spoiled by the local taquerias). My favorite breakfast item is the blackened ahi benedict, but their traditional fair and waffles are also excellent. The atmosphere to the entire place is also very airy, open, and fresh and the staff is friendly and prompt. One of my absolute favorite places for lunch on weekdays. Unfortunately for breakfast or lunch on weekends, the wait times can exceed 1 hour so I usually dont even try. I only wish they were open for dinner too!

Never felt the need to leave a bad review on somewhere. Was excited with the reviews of the place. However, after getting seated in a reasonable time, about 30 minutes passed with no coffee or service of any kind. We observed the waitress serve many people who were seated after us. The first waitress I talked to just pointed me to the coffee machine. After talking to the hostess someone finally came over, just to tell us she was busy and "is here now to serve us". Left after finally receiving a coffee. Would love to try their food one day, but hopefully not get forgotten about in the corner table

Id give the place 5 stars if they could adjust their billing a bit. They should itemize the omelet to show each item added, instead of a total. This would avoid mistakes. Also they charge more for the chorizo than is shown on the menu. I called them on it and should have been charged the amount shown on the menu. I was charged over $2 for it when the menu shows its a dollar and a half. Not a big deal but when I eat I dont like to see mistakes on my bill. Im sure most people dont pay attention but some do. Other than that I like the place. The service and food are good.

Food is good but pretty simple and expensive for what you get. Also I would not recommend this place to anyone with GI issues or sensitive stomachs. Ive been here twice, ordered a sandwich the first time and tostadas the second time, and I left with stomach cramps, bloating, nausea and diarrhea. The people who ate lunch with me were fine which is why I think it must just be me. It couldnt have been any food I had for breakfast because my partner had the same breakfast food and we were both okay until after lunch.

Food was delicious!!! Had the feta and basil scramble with home fries and blueberry muffin. Enjoyed every bite and would def come back just for the home fries which are cooked perfectly. Yum! Price is just right. Frequent coffee refill rounds to make sure your cup stays fresh and hot. There are a lot of people so it can get loud. Staff is friendly and attentive, which is impressive given how busy they are. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasty breakfast.

I believe it may have been our seating arrangement ( at the end of a row of booths near bathrooms, like a two seat table haphazardly placed for extra seating) but our service was horrible. However, the food was delicious. Eggs Benedict florentine style was absolutely terrific. And the huevos rancheros (carnitas) was "ok"... If the service hasnt been so atrocious I wouldve enjoyed my brunch much more. And as everyone has said, very very busy place.

In my dream world, Im a retired man cloaked in dockers and sweater vests, spending every morning sitting at the bar of Walnut with a newspaper and an endless supply of coffee to wash down my apple chicken sausage. After finishing the crossword and when its getting close to their early closing, I simply pop over to next door for a pint... Oh, what a dream... Love this place. Too pricey for an everyday excursion though. Sadly.
