Our family was on travel for a month in CA. My daughters birthday landed on a day while we were staying in Monterrey. I visited several pastry shops and bakeries in the area to sample goods and possibly order a cake for her birthday. We stopped by Parker-Lusseau at the Munras location before closing. They did not have a large selection at that time of day, which to me, is a good thing! All the good stuff goes early. We got an almond croissant and a fruit tart. Both we incredibly good and still fresh tasting. The texture and amount of sweetness for both were perfect. I decided to order the Experience to pick up the next day for the bday girl. The owner was the one who greeted and helped us. He was very friendly and accommodating and knew his customers by name and what they usually like. Of all the other bakeries, this by far has been my favorite! I will update our experience later with how the cake was.

Authentic French pastries and the most delectable French roast brewed coffee right downtown Monterey! What more can one ask for!!!! Life becomes worth living when you start your day off with these wares. A tad pricy but no more so than Starbucks or Peets. Their brioche is like biting into a cloud, with the most delicious custard in the middle with REAL vanilla (you can see the little specks of black seeds even). The almond croissant makes you wish it would never end! The little lemon raspberry bundt cake is so moist...one would think it was drizzled in brandy!!!!

If youre in the area treat yourself to some truly amazing pastries and desserts. Best for miles around. For some unfathomable reason the Bay Area is devoid of real French baking. Something as simple as a butter crissoant becomes something amazing with the correct care and technique. Thank you Parker Lusseau for the quality of your baking, other lauded bakeries from San Francisco to halfway to LA dont hold a candle to your confections.

We stopped in early afternoon on Friday. My husband and I shared the White Passion (white chocolate mousse w/passion fruit cream & raspberries). Didnt get a chance to take any pictures because it was gone in a flash. It was delicious, just the right balance of sweet and tart! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Good thing we live in AZ, or else Id be over here all the time!

The pastries are fresh and very delicious! Its hard to decide what to eat. The apple cider (here for a limited time only) is excellent! I love the spices they use - only complaint is its a little too sweet. I havent tried their coffee yet. I also love their little café. Its very quaint. Service has always been very friendly.

It has nice and quaint seating, friendly staff, with prompt service. Parking is relatively easy to come by and its walking distance to the Alvarez strip, post office, and Trader Joes. I went a few hours before close. I didnt find the offerings particularly remarkable but I would visit again.

The best mochas in town. Also amazing almond croissants. The quiche are superb and I love to buy a couple ciabatta rolls (specifically the tomato and cheese) for wine and cheese later in the day. The owners are charming and the staff is too. Oh, also the canelés are an exquisite treat.

Made it right before close, bought them out of their canele! We got a walnut coffee chocolate mousse cake that was alright and a raspberry pistachio chocolate cake slice also alright. The canele they make is very good, Id make it a point to go here next time Im in Monterey.

This place is the bomb. Great French pastry place. A bit on the expensive side, but it is all really good. They have several locations and different days and hours at each, do if one is closed try another. The Adobe on Hartnell and the main bakery on Munras are the best.

Not exactly a bakery in my idea, which should have floating smell of bread and cake of variety. They have sandwich, tastes good though. My wife likes this sandwich shop nonetheless. Cookie is okay, croissant is too big for my taste. Quantities are limited.

Very nice small pastry shop in an older historic building next to the Monterey post office. This is an offshoot of the main bakery at another location. Very pleasant although limited seating inside and outside. Tasty food and pastries.

best set of baristas you could ever meet. pleasure to deal with them even before that cranky before the first coffee of the day , you wanna pick a fight attitude. I suspect theyre topnotch psychotherapists in disguise

I had a raspberry chocolate for $2.25, the taste was great! I didnt buy any pastry but they all seem delicious. The setting is casual and cozy, right around the corner from Trader Joes and the Post Office.

Not sure what all the praise is about. Went there this morning and was presented with a very limited selection of pastries. Plain croissants for $3 a piece? Maybe they cater for the terminally ill.

Shared the morning bun and Apple galette. Both were freshly baked and hit the spot. Acme coffee served here that paired perfectly with the pastries.. Delightful local coffee company.

Wow, was the almond croissant good! But the cappuccinos were disappointing because of the high price for the tiny servings. Nice atmosphere.
