The biggest reason I like this place was the Humboldt County Hemp Ale. I just got off the road from driving down there from Tacoma, WA and on my way to Los Angeles,CA. Granted, Santa Cruz is a ways down south from Humboldt County, it was the first place I ever had Humboldt County Hemp Ale. The waitresses were pretty and pleasant. The locals that populated the place were from all interaction great folks. I enjoyed the atmosphere and had no complaints about the food. I read some reviews in regards to the food, but Id say if you go to a place called "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall", go for the beer and the fun enviorment, not for the food. When you look at it like that, the foods incidental and its a great place.

Service was good, I had the chicken parm sandwich. Cutlet was breaded and fried.. Glad it was not pulled out of a bag from freezer and dropped in fryer but made fresh. The bun shouldve been toasted on the grill which would have soften the bread some. Had lettuce, onion, tomatoes which is not a norm for chicken parm. Very little sauce and a little bit of shredded cheese. I would like to see more sauce, with a two slices of provolone cheese properly melted. They also had some kind of mustard sauce which again a chicken parm does not need a mustard sauce. It needs marinara sauce cheese on a nice toasted bun.

My boyfriend and I had one of the worse experiences at a restaurant at 99 bottles of beer. The food was beyond terrible and the service was non-existant. I ordered a veggie pocket (who could mess that up) that didnt include half the items stated on the menu, and my boyfriend ordered a soup that was just super salty and foul. Im not sure if they were having trouble with staffing, but it seemed they pulled our waiter out of the kitchen to serve tables. Dont believe the "best sports bar" claim- they are the only sports bar!

My boyfriend and I came here back in October 2015 for the first time (were from the Sacramento area) and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this place! The food was good, but the atmosphere really was just spectacular. We sat outdoors in the sunshine and it was an amazing time with quick service, tasty food and decent prices. The scenery was perfect and the restaurant sits in a great location. We plan on coming here again on our next visit to Santa Cruz.

Decent bar food, nothing particularly exceptional. Some items are a little overpriced, and the atmosphere can feel very cozy and cramped. Ive tried the calamari, the burgers and the sandwiches. All are pretty good. I think its mainly the seating and sometimes inconsistent service that keep me away. Nevertheless its conveniently located, so I sometimes end up here anyway despite preferring Rosies in just about every way.

Too many draft beer, they all become flat, not carbonized at all because they have too much on draft and they are not drank fast enough the keg get no CO2 in the beer. Drink in bottles or cans otherwise you wast your money. Tried 5 simpler and 4 on 5 was past out, really not good simply because they were there for too long. There a reason why other brewing pub have maximum 10 beers on draft...

Pub-style restaurant tucked into downtown Santa Cruz. We each had the burger and while the portion was good the buns fell apart and the chipotle was too overwhelming. They should switch to a nice brioche bun and instead of putting whole chipotles use a chipotle aioli on the burger. The beer selection was EXCELLENT and staff were super friendly. All in all would definitely visit again.

Tasty food, large selection of beers, friendly environment, the staff is helpful and friendly. The place offers the 99 bottles challenge, which is a card to keep track of different beers consumed, and those that fill the card get their name in a plaque in the wall and a t-shirt. Also make sure to check the restroom. They handle graffiti by providing a board and chalk.

Ive been here so many times and I have always enjoyed the food and variety of drinks. The last couple of visits have been the opposite. There was a cockroach on the side of the wall. When I mentioned it to our waitress she grabbed a napkin off the table and crushed it. That was pretty gross to say the least.

I went there for a big birthday party recently. I dont drink, so I can judge that part, but the food that everyone I was with ordered was exceptionally good! Everybody seemed very pleased. Staff was super nice too. I have heard that their menu was recently revamped. The food was awesome!

Great place to grab a beer, chat with people who love beer, grab some tasty food. They serve one of the best burgers Ive ever had - I say this because it is a juicy burger with lots of flavor. My favorite is getting the bacon cheeseburger, but subbing bleu cheese onto it. Cant go wrong!

The beer selection is great but the service is below even Santa Cruz standards, which means it sucks. The food is strictly for college kids with iron stomachs or to get through the ballgame. I still visit once a week because, well, the beer selections pretty darn good.

Good bar food, good service, THE NEW THAT STARTED THREE DAYS AGO WAS GREAT. GREAT SERVICE MAN. I would go back for sure. I had beer sausage sandwich with fries, and an san diego ipa. A good time with food and spirits. I would definately recommend.

They were extremely friendly and accommodating to our large dog who was with us. It was a very welcome experience after being turned away from a nearby restaurant. On another note, the burgers and criss cut French fries are quite tasty.

I love their fish n chips, and I think they might have the best fish n chips in town. (surprisingly hard in Santa Cruz to find good fish n chips) the burgers are also great. The trivia night here gets PACKED so watch out for that

Bear selection is great! Food I dont find that good and overpriced for mediocre bar food. A burger here is not as good and more expensive than at Bettys (nearby). Red Room (nearby) which is similarly priced has much better food.

Great beer selection. Better food selection than almost any brewery from San Jose to Watsonville. Not many tvs to enjoy a game or two. So if you plan on going here to do that, make sure you get a seat early or on a slower day.

Great selection of beers, definitely more than 99. Lots of them on tap but some only come in a bottle. Live music there is awesome but a but loud. trivia night is the bomb with lots of participants and lots od great prizes.

The team is so kind and have good recommendations for your beer experience. The food is great, the plates are big and not so expensive compared to other place I went. I did it twice during my 3 days in Santa Cruz ;)
