What a life saver! Returned after getting a heart attack and a flash of anger at Neptunes unrealistic prices and got some decently priced grub here. The interiors are kind of old school beer garden style tables. The seating on the "balcony" only really sees the road so we decided to eat outside. They were accommodating when we changed our minds and took our order "to go". We ate our meal looking at the coast from our very own private perch just a few miles down the highway. Everything was delicious- the pork sliders, the hot reuben and the blue chips & salsa. In fact, it was more food than we imagined and way better than the notoriously famous In&Out burgers...way better. I hope this place continues to do business for years- we need many more places like this!

Every year we have an annual scooter ride up to Big Sur. Our club from San Jose meets our club from San Luis Obispo. We have held it at the Fernwood Grill in the Years pass. They really gave us the runaround and a difficult time this year so we tried out Big Sur Taphouse. They were so inviting their facilities are great for big groups. Theyre outside patio in the back is beautiful. We brought in 30 people and they got the food out extremely fast. The Taphouse has their menu and if you dont want to order off of that they have a deli with deli sandwiches pastas all kinds of goodies. Cannot thank them enough for the great time that we had. Friendly staff. Great beer selection on tap.

Two words. Fish Nachos! Amazing, AMAZING!!! Small place but theres a big outdoor area outback. Kinda disappointed that there was no fire pit or even heating post to keep you warm but its a big outdoor area. Beers on tap gets rotated. Theres a small barrel cooler chest filled with beer as well. Theres also a small store next door with burritos. Overall a great place. Did I mention their FISH NACHOS!?

Seriously amazing place, and totally unpretentious and reasonably priced. Skip the nonsense at Nepenthe and go here. Food good enough to tell foodies about and a great patio out back.
