I was not impressed after reading such great reviews on yelp. It was a 1 hour wait for a table and dinner was not served for about 45 minutes after being ordered. My meat (Tri-Tip) was cold - very cold I did not care for my beer and ordered a dessert which took around 30 minutes to come out. We were not expecting to have a 2:45-minute dinner. The waiter was very friendly and personable but NOT ATTENTIVE. I had to go inside to look for our dessert because our kids were getting restless and a server told me the desserts took 30 minutes to make and my server should have told me. We only saw our server to place drink order, food order, and drop check. When I went to check for my dessert the waitress told me I should speak to the manager and when I did I tried to explain what had happened and how I was not happy and he asked me why I did not tell my server my server my food was cold. (well my server was standing there in front of us at the time which is a bit uncomfortable) and had I saw my server other than placing the order (drinks and food) I would have said my food was cold. My boys burgers were cold too. The food was sitting for a while before it was given to us.

Be careful. An organization Im involved with, tried to work with this owner for weeks to host an event. We would be there on Monday, otherwise closed day, pay "x" $ for some agreement on noshes plus the bar would be cash only, all proceeds to the restaurant. Sam, the owner, strung along several of the club members, some went into dine, paid in full for their meal, and the event would be organized to also boost the new eatery. Post-promise, Sam dodged all of our contacts, even left the premises when one rep was there waiting to see him. He did not return many, many phone calls and emails. Why did he not simply just tell us, hed changed his mind? The club finally cancelled realizing the hoax and then too-kindly went onFB to tell everyone the event was cancelled. Many had rsvpd. Amazingly, "Drew" some level of manager, responded with some baloney excuse and anticipated our future business. Talk about BRASS!! No future for any of us at that place! How will this place survive with a proven reputation like that? Clearly this place s owner has proven the low level he holds would-be patrons. No thanks.

Tried this after a hike, I feel my expectations were low but they blew them out of the water. Their meals are delicious southern food recreations, with all the fixins. Enjoyed the fried pickles and collard greens. Mac and cheese is great, but not standout. My friends and I got a bit of each the meats, and while everything is solid the clear frontrunner were the pulled pork and the free range chicken On each table is a set of bbq sauces. Youre gonna want to try these. I dont know if they always provide the same, but ours were hot mango habenero, Kansas city, and smoked bourbon. They were great, a little sweet if youre used to a lot of other bbq sauces, but superior in my opinion. Service is solid, and the floor staff goes above and beyond to care for their diners. They worked hard to accomidate our various needs (i admit, im a headache of a customer), and were approachable and attentive. We got a humbling visit from the manager, very humbling but not surprising given the community surrounding. Overall very pleased with the meal, will visit again and not even local

As a native Californian who spent a decade in Texas and who fell in love with Texas BBQ, this is the best Texas barbecue west of the Line Star State. True to the Texas Trinity of Brisket, Ribs, and Sausage, with an addition of Santa Maria style BBQ Mainstays (TriTip.) Had a few tasting sampler of wet & dry brisket, hot links and pulled pork, so that new comes can taste the amazing flavors. Ordered Wet Brisket & Hot Links, absolutely perfect and authentic. The fried okra was top notch, the spinach and Mac & cheese, were phenominal. Looking at the next tables order, their burgers were nearly an artistic rendering of what a thick burger with quality accompanyments should look like. Prices are a little bit more than most quick serve restaurants, but the quantity and quality are well worth it. A wonderfully delightful and delicious experience.

What a gem! First of all, the owner! Holy moly he was on top of it! I told him I was trying to decide between this and another restaurant and would determine based on reviews. He quickly spouted off all his reviews. I couldnt believe it, I checked and he was accurate. I was impressed he cared enough to know. Then they bring out samplers of meat, amazing little hushpuppies. Im a vegetarian and this BBQ restaurant was so wonderful I hope to go back on my next visit. Everyone with my group (6 of us) was raving about the meat and sides. I loved my food. They have a menu selection that really appeases to everyone and a fantastic beer selection. Cant wait to try it again!

Ok, so as a South Carolinian I was very skeptical of there being a bbq joint in California. Great bbq. Its very close to the real thing. Ive also never had a bbq sandwich served to me on something other than a paper plate. Sauces arent bad either. The eastern carolina sauce is great along with the georgia mustard sauce (though its also a south carolina style sauce as well). Mac n cheese was good too. Didnt like the choice of noodle but it was a great side. The fried pickles were ok but they were too salty due to their being cut length wise. Bar tender was chill. Great service. Id recommend any southern expatriate to eat, drink, & be merry there.

I just came home from my first visit to Southern Smoke BBQ & Brewhouse and regret not getting more food. For now they are only open on Saturdays so I am debating whether or not to risk looking greedy and returning for a 2nd trip today so I can have some for tomorrow. We go the combo plate with sausage, ribs, cornbread, baked beans, and potato salad. All of which were made with love and cooked to tender perfection. I have been a vegetarian for around 10 years but started yielding to my meat cravings when I became pregnant. Me, my husband, and my fetus give this place 2 thumbs up. Will definitely be back. #betterthanbludsoes

Great place to dine!! Its was perfect for the wife and Is date night. The food and service was great! It was crowed but not too loud. Definitely a pleasant ambiance. I had a Tri-tip Avocado salad with barrel tatter tots and man was it good. The Tri-tip is indescribably good!! My wife had their BBQ Chicken sandwich and fries. Coleslaw was layered below the BBQ chicken. The coleslaw really kicked it up a notch in taste. Best of all were the complimentary hush-puppies that came with honey sweet dipping sauce. The only downside was the wait, however, it was COMPLETELY worth it. Were looking forward to going back...I cant wait.

5 stars would be outstanding and this place IS outstanding compared to Santa Claritas selection of eateries. But in the big pond its a 4. Great variety of menu items with a selection of meats, fish, poultry, prepared various ways. Great selections of brew for those who like a cold poured one. Had the mushroom burger twice, because it really is that good. The baby back ribs were a little on the dry side and fell easily off the bone. Not to worry, because theres a basket of sauces available that you can add to anything you wish. Sides of fries, mashed potatoes, and the sautéed spinach were all perfect.
