Think tapas style eating, but in a grill-your-own Asian menu. Each table has its own little grill in the middle of the table, and you order items from the menu to share. The server brings the seasoned bits on a plate -whether its a shrimp, beef, chicken, a vegie dish etc, and you grill everything up to your liking. The restaurant is a pleasant atmosphere albeit it a bit loud. There is not much of a waiting area inside if you need to wait and no bar. Kids seem to like the "cook your own" concept. Their signature miso beef dish is very tasty. Everything is affordably priced and the portions are typical of a tapas style menu. We left full and happy.

We have been to a couple of Gyu-Kaku locations before and we wanted to try this location out because it just recently opened and it is close to our house. The place is kind of small. I have seen Starbucks location bigger than this place. They do however have patio seating. They accept reservations and they also have a texting system where they text you when your table is ready so you can walk around the shopping center. The service was great. All of the employees are very friendly and attentive to your needs.

They try to make you think youre getting a deal with their "happy hour" menu, but its such a sham. $6 for a few dumplings? $7-$8 for "bibimbap" thats actually basically all rice? $8 for some nasty, imitation-ramen? $4.50 for a tiny thing of ice cream between a cheaply made macaroon? Their cocktails are also super cheap--meaning super artificial tasting. This place is a sham all-around. Will never go back.

They were so nice! They have some awesome specials throughout the week. I was visiting California being from Texas and I heard about this place so I tried it and it was not a disappointment. Tons of food to choose from. High quality meat. They even gave us smores to cook. And they sang me happy birthday as they brought out my cake. It was just so awesome and fun.

Place is great although its not very big and the wait times can get pretty long on weekends. Came here with a group from work and it took a surprisingly long time for our food to come out which is strange because they dont cook it. Cant really hold it against them though since this isnt exactly a place to go for a quick bite. Definitely coming back.

Meat was fresh and high end. Price during happy hour was a steal. With toro beef being only 3 dollars and a mug of sapporo for 1.50. Had an amazing time with my friends here, since the vibe of this place just made everything come together. This place will be forever on my list of top Asian restaurants. This place deserves an exceptional 5/5 stars.

Tender meats, perfectly marinated and seasoned; delicious veggies and even smores! Nice selection of beers, waitstaff was very accomodating and attentive. Patrick was spot-on with his recommendation for my boyfriend and I when we ate here with our two boys, ages 13 and 9. Kids think its fun, parents think its just yum = win-win!

Very good, great menu and the drinks are fine. This is a chain restaurant. Food is cooked over a grill located on your table. Its fun, best to come during the Happy Hour times as they have very good pricing. I have been here many times, pricing is reasonable and the service is very friendly. Yes, I definitely would come back.

I love this place! the service is always great and the food is always amazing. If you visit during "super happy hour" youll be surprised by the amount of food and drinks you can have for very little money, definitely an exceptional deal! I eat here at least twice a month, I enjoy all the great protein rich options.

Waited 5 minutes at door before we were acknowledged. Food was average and over salty. Bimbimbap was inedible, as it was too salty. Beef was good. No shishito peppers...whaat??? Service was good, but she never deducted Bimbimbap and I told her twice it was inedible. Whatever...its pseudo Japanese in the suburbs.

Asian themed restaurant with your choice of meat grilled by you at your table. The meat was tasty with delicious spices. Service cordial and timely. The menus were a bit confusing with many different options of combinations and choices. First time customers may need a thorough explanation before ordering.

This places is pretty good. There prices are a like much, but when you go there during happy hour and they even have a super happy hour, you can get some good prices on some things. With that being said the food is good. I really liked their duck and their bacon wrapped scallops.

Amazing food. The server was great and helped us select the best package for us. The food came out quickly and the directions were explained to us, which helped us cook our food. We will return because of the great food and service.

The food is bad for the price, the service is minimal and DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS (unless you want your one year old forced to sit well within arms reach of the open flames on the grill)....oh and lots of flies that amuse the staff

Best Japanese bbq in town, considering we dont have many lol. No but really I do like coming here. The meat is always tasty and tender, only thing I would consider changing would be the -portions, they are a bit on the small size

My experience was amazing, I had a wonderful server who knew a lot about the food and even taught me how to mix the veggies and the egg and which dish goes with what broth. The food was delicious!!!!

Fun atmosphere and tasty food. We did the lunch special which was plenty of food and very flavorful. We went at lunch rush hour and it was a little understaffed but no major issues. Staff was nice.

The food is great. If you dont come on the weekends its pretty dead and there are tons of deals on the menu but you are still looking at spending at least 60 dollars on dinner for 2.

Ive been to a lot of Korean BBQ in Koreatown and Gyu Kaku tops them all. I understand this is supposed to be Japanese but the style is the same.

The food itself was great but the portions are too small. Maybe Im just spoiled by the korean bbq in Little Tokyo.
