The service at north beach pizza (San Mateo) is incredibly rude. I am positive that they hire their delivery drivers from the ranks of recently paroled criminals. The management (for lack of a better term) is completely indifferent to the complaints of customers. I used to order from North Beach often, until one day I placed an order for delivery. Not only did my order never arrive, but they even charged my card! Repeated attempts to speak to what passes for the manager were delayed for up to 20 minutes while I was on hold, which Im sure was just for the petty humor of the moronic staff. Better to go to Zorbas pizza for very good service and excellent food than roll the dice and order from the dropouts at North Beach

Location specific: This one is a bit more lively as its nestled on the busy corner in San Mateo. Nice atmosphere... and the pizza is, well, North Beach Pizza. Everything youd expect from them. But if youre looking for NY style pizza. This aint exactly it. General: One of the first pizza places I visited when in the Bay Area. And while I was disappointed - because it just wasnt east coast pizza... I learned to like North Beach pizza. Though you can get quite different quality pizzas depending on the location. They serve up regular old pizza fare. Nothing more nothing less.

I read some bad reviews, but their pizza was decent - not the best but still very good. What sold me about this place is their lasagna. The best lasagna Ive had ever! It took awhile to make but was well worth the wait because they made it FRESH. Superb sauce, lots of flavor, and oh so cheesy. I had to come back just for the lasagna again. Great service & clean too. If youre upset about the pizza, try the lasagna. Youll be back...guaranteed!

Great pizza, good service. Its tough to get seating for anything other than 2 or 4 people... there are only two corner booths where more can sit. My 4-year-old loves eating here because they give kids a little bit of half-cooked pizza dough to play with, which is really nice. Really great pizzas across the board; you cant go wrong with any of them. If youre looking for a great pizza spot in downtown San Mateo, youll be well-served here.

The pizza is great, very delicious. it is one of the best pizza in sf Bay Area, . We order 4 different types of pizza and I can not tell which one was the best because all of them were very delicious. The customer service is awesome . The place is very cozy, clean , and it is very well located . Tip: dont forget to order the desserts: banana with cheese pizza and chocolate with strawberries pizza

Been coming here for years. Great pizza, all the time. I always order Salami pizza and the crust, cheese and salami are all great. It has a pretty good ratio of all three. Theres places that might have more cheese or better crust but this place does it all well. Definitely come here if youre looking for some good pizza, as this place is pricey, and not another Little Caesar run with the guys.

Unexceptional but okay pizza, with exceptionally lousy service. We once placed a large delivery order here (several pizzas), and after several calls with promises it was "on the way", received the order 3 hours late. Regardless of the food quality, any restaurant that would possibly take this long to deliver could not be recommended.

Good Pizza, great flavor, service has been good except on busy weekend nights. A little expensive but overall its decent. No kids menu or kids serving sizes for pizza, youll have to split a small with your child which leads to TONS of leftovers, not cool. $$$$

Absolutely horrible delivery service. Was told 45 minutes and I called 3 times starting at 1 hour and after 2 hours the manager said the pizza has been delivered to the wrong place. This place gives a new meaning to incompetent.

They have awesome pizza. I think its like a nice blend of deep dish and thin pizza. They put a lot of care into the pizzas and they come of piping hot. The service is really friendly and the decor is nice.

North beach has a very laid-back, casual atmosphere to it, the servers are extremely friendly, and the food is fantastic. Have had many good times here! Personally, the golden gate special is my favorite

We usually order takeout, so no problems there with delivery time. Just order online and you can pick up in a half hour. Thin crust is really good, so are Golden Gate, Clam/Garlic.
