A rare preemptive review: I received a coupon for $3 off a pizza at Flying Squirrel in the mail today. I had no idea they existed, and frankly Ive not had a good pizza experience in Maple Leaf. Sadly, upon arriving, I realized Id left my coupon at home. Upon telling the story to the (I assume) owner, his response was "use it next time, I need the coupon". This would be fine, except he followed with "I have a whole pile of them, they all hit peoples mailboxes today". Yeah, so Im not lying about the coupon, but there probably wont be a next time. Bummer, because the place smells awesome, and the music has been on point. Why wouldnt you just give me the $3? Edit: Goddamn this is a good pizza. Perfectly done thin crust with slightly spicy pepperoni and flavorful, fresh-tasting sausage. Why didnt you just give me the coupon? This would be a solid 5 without the bizarre denial.

Since I was a child, I always wanted to visit Seattle. The music, the gaming, the tech scene, time and time again - things drew my attention to Seattle. Finally ,at the age of 30 I made the week long trip to my Mecca. To be honest, I hated it. The reasons dont matter. What does matter is the one place I miss from that journey - Flying Squirrel Pizza. The moment I bit into their cheese bread sticks I knew they understood how to cook. The Lucille IPA was another great example of proper pairing. And when the pizza arrived? It was the same quality of the bread sticks in Pizza form. A lifetime of waiting to visit the sights and sound of Seattle, and it was all a disappointment except for here. Please enjoy this as much as you can.

In the more than a dozen times Ive gotten take out from the 5th Ave Flying Squirrel, 4 times its been missing paid for ingredients, 6+ times its been charred, and the last time when I was waiting on premises it was cold, charred, & missing ingredients. Repeatedly talked to staff & manager, and finally emailed corporate, ( no response) , but they just cant git er done which is too bad, because when its right its a superb (albeit $30) pizza, but its right only about 50% of the time. Reluctantly crossed them off my eatery list.

We waited for an hour and we were placed first on a list. Three groups behind us and then suddenly after an hour of waiting and watching several tables be cleaned off ...another group waltzs in and was seated ahead of all four groups who had been waiting patiently with hungry impatient children for at least an hour, this was VERY poor customer service. Three of the four groups of us left without waiting any longer. Again never got to eat here despite the reviews because of poor customer service.

Hands down the best pizza in Seattle. Coming from a man who loves pizza of all persuasions this establishment has some of the best quality ingredients around. Wonderful craft cocktails. and a cozy atmosphere with a bar to one side. I suggest trying to get here early as it fills up quite quickly and people tend to stay awhile as the staff is friendly and quick to make sure you always have a drink. I have taken many out of towners here and nobody has ever complained. Keep it up flying squirrel!

Recommended by my BILs co-worker, LOVED their homemade ranch with dill! Cheezy bread was a great balance of flavors. Prices unclear. Ordered a large with each side 2 dif flavors. You would think they would charge for a large... but tried to charge me for 2 half pizzas and didnt understand me the first 2 times I asked. They did fix the problem however. Pricy for pizza but good quality food and ingredients. You get what you pay for. :)

My wife and I have thoroughly decided that this is the best pizza on the Seattle times pizza card. This is not one of those pretentious pizza places that gives you a pair of scissors to cut your pie and charges you $20 to wet your appetite. What you will get is excellent service, good local brews on tap, a delicious thin crust pie, and homemade ice cream that is to die for! Just be sure to get here before 6 on weekends.

This was my first visit to the Maple Leaf location... were after-soccer regulars at the Genesee location as we live in North Seattle and dinner would be too late after the drive back. This one is close to home. Nice atmosphere, great beer and excellent Pizza. Still like the cool staff at the Genesee location more; but these guys are friendly, attentive and efficient...

Call to order a pizza for carry out. I got a pepperoni and sausage pizza. They had it ready in 15 minutes. The toppings were good, and overall so was the pizza and the price was fair. I would say the pizza is good bit not great. I would actually give them 3.5 stars if that was an option but I will give them 4 because they are local and the ingredients are fresh.

The food, drinks, and staff were all amazing. Of course pizza is very subjective, but if you like a nice gourmet wood fired thin crust pizza served to you by a super friendly staff, then this is the spot! I filled up on pizza, so I didnt try any of their house made ice cream or key lime pie, but I saw some go out, and they looked delicious too.

Extra points for having Lucille on tap. All the food Ive had here in 5 or so visits has been great. Pizza, salads, appetizers. Very nice servers. A keeper. For those who remember the New York Pizza Place that was here before--it was wonderful. I used to love that place. The Flying Squirrel pizzas are, if anything, slightly better.

Wonderful food! Fantastic, high-quality ingredients. The owners only buy the best they can get. If they can buy local and organic, they do! And the difference is noticeable. The staff is great, and the home-made ice cream is phenomenal. This is the best pizza Ive had in Seattle so far. Im a pizza snob.

By far a great place for pizza and wine. This is a family place in the heart of Maple leaf. They are super friendly. For our kids as soon as we walk in we get a cheese pizza going. Service can be slow at times but worth the wait. The beet salad and meatballs is our favorites.

Favorite neighborhood spot. Can be crowded but the food and the staff are worth the wait. Take great care of our family, great local ingredients and wonderfully delicious pizza. Highly recommend - and can finish the evening with Bluebird Creamery ice cream to boot!

Flying Squirrel is a great local pizzeria chain. The thin crust pies are always delicious and the staff are always friendly. The restaurants are kid friendly and can get busy (and loud).

Great pizza. Staff very nice. We ordered take out and even my gluten free son was happy with the pizza. Also try the Mac & cheese if you can. Kind of different but amazing.

This is a distinctly higher end pizza restaurant. Great on tap Local Seattle Beer and Wine. Family friendly and upbeat atmosphere. One of my favorites.

The cooks are either too high are too stupid to follow simple directions that veer off of the normal menu. Still good pizza.
