A group of friends and I went to Gangnam Chicken for lunch, they have visited the restaurant before but not me. It was the first time I try Korean chicken. The place is clean and the service was good and fast. We ordered different types of fried chicken and one spicy bbq pork, my favorite Korean dish. I quite enjoyed the fried chicken chicken, specially the soy garlic one. Even though there wasnt enough garlic to satisfy the Lebanese in me. As for the BBQ pork Daweji Bulgogi, is good. Not the best I have ever had but its really good. Comes with rice and kimchi. Got the lunch portion and it was decently filling. I have to say now I am a big fan of Korean Fried chicken and Im looking forward to try a more authentic take.

The banner is a chicken doing the famous Gangnam Style pose. Once I saw that image, I just had to try it. The food is alright. It was nothing to brag about. We ordered the chicken wings with their special sauce, and some spicy pork to share. Ive had better. Lets just leave it at that. The spicy pork was more sweet than spicy, and the chicken wings lack taste. There was a huge TV screen showing K-Pop. I guess people go here more for the environment rather than the food.

I suppose a vegetarian cant expect much when they enter a restaurant with a dancing chicken logo. Actually, there are a few vegetarian options here, including bibimbap (rice bowls) and soon doo boo (tofu stew). The vegetarian versions of these two dishes are not especially flavorful, so be prepared to add copious amounts of chili or soy sauce. The ubiquitous side dishes are pretty tasty (and many are vegetarian).

Very good dol sot bibimbap (nice crust and fresh veg). The chicken, however, was soggy with a squishy crust and a sauce (the hot and spicy) that was really imbalanced. If we come again well get te naked fried chicken to see if the crust is better. For chicken Bonchon down the street is much better.

Their dol-sot-bib-im-pap is awesome. The stone bowl is super hot, so you can get a crust on the rice, if you want. Their go-chu-chang sauce is plentiful and good. I highly recommend it. I did try their chicken once as well. It was pretty good.

Finally, an excellent Korean restaurant in SM. Whats a little different about it though is constant bombardment of kpop videos and music. I cant determine yet if thats a plus or minus. f(X)!? ;)

Amazing, crispy K style fried chicken. The other items on the menu are very good as well. Given the paucity if Korean places in San Mateo, I would rate this as one of the best Korean places.

The quality and quantity of food and service is what I would call average, not bad but not great. Their tofu was pretty decent but I felt their chicken was a little pricey for what you get.

Korean style fried chicken. One of the flavors is really spicy. Seafood pancake and Korean rice cake are both good. Beer and fried chicken is the combination that cant go wrong.

Not bad for Korean fried chicken. Could be less fatty. Also tried their chapchae but very small portion. Cant comment on other Korean dishes as I did not try

There are a few vegetarian options, and the waitress was super nice and helpful. The soup could have a little more flavor, but still so good on a cold day.
