Wanted to try something different than Kimchee House and decided to give this place a try. The location is decent and parking can be a bit challenging but not too bad. As others have commented, the woman was very friendly and makes you feel welcome like a friend coming over to have a meal. The portions are decent and the side dishes are plentiful and tasty. The waitress came by quite often and made sure our kimchee was full. Their fried chicken was on of the best Ive tasted; the sauce I wouldve prefer on the side. The mushroom tofu soup was one of the best Ive had; it wasnt just "spicy" but had real soup taste to it. Good easy hang out location for chilling or for meal.

I decided to try out Gangnam Tofu after hearing about how they just recently opened a Korean Restaurant in El Cerrito. Its a small place packed with BIG FLAVOR. The menu may look limited but there are a ton of yummy options everyone can enjoy! The portions are very generous as well. The popcorn chicken was massive. You can also choose your sauce for the popcorn chicken. The tofu soup was so good. Normally Im not a huge fan of soup but its so good. The rice bowls are delicious as well! My favorite would have to be the side dishes and the Gangnam Chicken with the special sauce its AMAZING!

Great menu, great quality of food. Ban Chan here are delightful, Korean fried chicken is amazing, the BBQ is wonderful. Havent ordered anything here that was a miss. Much better than most Korean restaurant Ive been to in the East Bay, only a few others are as good as this place, and they are usually more crowded and expensive. Get the naeng myun here in the hot says of summer, its really refreshing and wonderful.

The only thing I didnt care for was the fried chicken. The best part of fried chicken is the crunchy crust, by covering sauce all over it, the crust is all soggy, and you taste nothing but the sauce. I feel its a little over-hyped from the reviews Ive read. The other traditional Korean dishes were delicious.

Somewhat busy parking, but I found one right away. I had the Soo Doo Boo combo, which was excellent. Spice and cooking were just right, portion and presentation were nice. Ban chan were varied and great. Short walk from BART makes it an easy non-car option.

Ban Chan was delish. Especially the tofu! Spicy chicken was also delicious and satisfying. The Yukgaejang was lacking in the flavor, meat and veggie department but was very spicy. Service was excellent.

Food and service was not that great Plus I asked the waitress if I could charge my phone for a second to order an Uber cuz my phone was dead and she said no a big NO after I purchase a meal.

Food is excellent, pricing is moderate, but very well worth it. Service is very attentive, but not overbearing. Great little secret spot of El Cerrito.
