This was my second time coming to the Koja Restaurant out in Berkeley and again it did not disappoint me! Location: Its right on telegraph so the location is perfect, if youre really into the Urban life. I love it down there, its never any parking spaces, but there is a nearby parking garage! Restaurant: The Koja is always packed, never really any seating due to all of the CAL students in the area, if youre lucky enough to get you seat youll be able to enjoy your food comfortably. The workers their are really nice, and have great people skills when dealing with so many people wanting so many things. Food: The Beef Koja is the best thing Ive tasted! Its a MUST try, Fried Rice buns, with Beef, special sauce, and a sliced pineapple in the middle of that is brilliant! KOJA was also on Guys diners and drive ins- you definitely get 5 stars!!

Id love to say I enjoyed my meal here, but although the idea sounds amazing, the execution was... left with lots of disappointment. I had the Kamakazi fries and dragon balls and both sounded amazing on the menu. The criss-cross fries were rather limp, especially under the beef and sauce which made the small dish feel extra heavy. The dragon balls were tempting, but even with one 3 balls per order, I was unable to finish this part of my meal. The odd combination of meat and rice and unknown substances in the dragon balls made them inedible. Will not be coming back soon. Maybe the trucks are better to try than this sit-down location.

There are very few fusion fast food places that actually work. This place is one of them. Their KoJa (rice buns/bread) is great replacement for traditional sandwich breads. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Both their Beef KoJa and Teriyaki Zen Koja were awesome. Their kamikaze fries were also good. I am glad they had a veg option for that. Overall, good food for the price.

The food is good. However, I placed an order online, which was cancelled with no explanation. I called the Berkeley location multiple times for an explanation, left a message, and they NEVER answered the phone, or called me back. In fact, I am still on the phone trying to get through.... this is terrible customer service.

MOTHER OF DELICIOUSNESS! You gotta try their fries combo cause its out of this world. Its priced around $10 or less and I kid you not, you will love it! Parking is a bit of a poop since its telegraph but depending on when you go during the week. However, dont let this stop you from trying out this place!

I lucked up on this Gem a few years ago, when it was serving out the food truck. Its safe to say this is by far my favorite comfort meal. If you havent done anything great in life, once you eat here youll think you have lol. No seriously reasonable prices, amazing flavors, and a full tummy.

Ive been here twice now and the kojas are delicious! Also the kamikaze fries are killer. My friend got the tuna salad and their wasabi dressing is hella good. Not very spicy but full of wasabi flavor, thankfully not overpowering. Definitely will be back when Im in the area.

Unique food, and pretty cheap to boot. Usually some seating at lunch, and they get the food to you quick with a buzzer thing. The bowls are really good if the sandwich isnt your thing, and the combo w/ fries is really spicy and reasonable.

They were out of beef when I got there, so I had to get something other than I originally wanted. But pretty good nonetheless. A fast food fusion of Korean and Japanese. Well, and a little bit American as well

The Koja beef burger is amazing. Its not very big, but the rice bun and beef just go so well together. The burgers cost $7-8 depending on the meat you choose. It can get fairly crowded during busy times.

Unfortunately, Koja has declined since I first started eating there. Prices have steadily increased, while the amount of meat they give you is pretty small now. Had a ton of gristle one time stopped by.

I got the chicken KoJa and its like a burger on a rice bun plus a side of their fries. It was so delicious. Ill definitely be going back to try some other things on their menu. Great price also!

Quintessential Berkeley eateries. Gotta try it. Delicious beef shortrib in fried rice bun. Also, must try the kamakaze fries, or better yet, the kamacrazy (bigger) fries. Garlic spicy goodness.

Has a few more options than the food truck, including pork and rice plate options. Not too much room to sit, unfortunately, so be prepared to take your food to-go.

Super salty food. Terrible loud music (top 40s) Pretty tight seating. Overpriced. Taking advantage of campus students. Definitely not recommending.
