I stopped to Vitos last night for dinner after a very long workday. Being alone, I sat at a high table next to the bar, and the bartender waited on me. The service was excellent, and the food was incredible as well. The atmosphere really sets this place apart...its surprisingly small, and most of the seating is by reservation only. The service is very personal, and they know how to give just the right amount of attention-I was reading my iPad and I was not bothered by anyone, but all I had to do was look up and someone asked if I needed a refill or asked how my meal was.

Vitos is my favorite Italian restaurant, being Italian myself, it is difficult to find an Italian restaurant that knows how to make authentic spaghetti sauce, or "gravy" as my father used to say. I am an Executive Assistant and send my executives and their teams there often for dinner or lunch and they all love it as well and they are a hard to please bunch. We also used them for a huge company luncheon for 300 people and the food was the same quality so I was impressed. Their prices are excellent as well. Great choice for Italian food!!! Always my favorite.... I went Thursday night and the oysters were so fresh I cant remember which oysters I had but it started with an M. Loved them. I also had the fried shrimp my usual and it never disappoints, the fries were hard and they were a little old but I still loved my shrimp so that is ok:) I didnt complain and Im sure if I did I would have received some fresh fries. I always love the vibe and the live music so I will continue to always go there.

Our lunch was amazing! the service was also amazing, even as the restaurant started to fill up we received the same amount of attention, everyone was very attentive, the lunch portion was a perfect amount, and the desert menu look so good just to full to go for it!! We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while but never off during the week together, so cant wait to get there again. Very nice inside and very clean!! LOVED it

Went to Vitos for my anniversary. Decent ambience. My only issue was the initial time that the server totally forgot coming to our table and taking orders. We waited a good time before we were asked what we wanted. After we could get his attention, the food arrived promptly. We had a minute concern with our food and he took care of it immediately and replaced it within minutes. Loved the Gnocchi and the minestrone soup.

I was visiting San Jose on business and decided to try this place for a nice dinner and glass of wine – I suggest the Pinot Noir. Walking in you can see the place is small, but it was packed. The food looked delicious and the servers were friendly. The food is authentic. I decided to go for a dish that my mother and I make on special occasions and it was excellent! Visit this place and you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in the bay area. While the service is not always the fastest, the food and the atmosphere make up for it. The ambiance in this cozy little place is that of a real trattoria, especially during holidays and special events with a lot of nice decorations. Add the subtle old-fashioned music that is playing in the background and you have a place that I keep coming back to!

Met part owner, Anthony, before I even knew he was an owner with his father I wanted to talk with his "manager" to tell them how awesome he was. He was the ideal bartender and waiter. Best service i have received in a long time and can tell he coaches his employees the same way. What a pleasant experience. Will definitely come back when Im in town. Not to mention, great food as well.

Acquerello is magical and we so loved our experience. The ambiance is pristine and romantic, the tables situated perfectly for maximum privacy. The colors and table decor fabulous and then service that was totally 5 star. The food was just divine. We all did a 4 course selection and had the veal, sturgeon, risotto, lobster and salmon offering and everything was just fabulous.

This place gets a lot of reviews and high ratings, but frankly I would rather eat at Olive Garden every night for the rest of my life over ever going back to this place. Every dish me and my co-worker had was mediocre at best (every bite you think "I could have made this better at home") and very overpriced. Not sure what the buzz is about....Find somewhere else to eat.

A nice little restaurant with great food! I took away one star just because while the service was pretty decent, as soon as we ordered dessert it seemed to take a while for that to come out and then forever to get the check after that, even though we could see our waiter just standing there. I will certainly be back though!

15 minute wait for a drink at an empty restaurant, bad "Im too good for this job" attitude from a waiter, and oh yeah... the food is not very good either especially for the price they charge for it ( desert is an exception - its actually very good ). I literary walked away after I couldnt get my drink.

My friend and I had a light dinner there. When I paid the bill, we were waiting for our change. The waiter came up to us and said "Do you guys need change?" Duh?! Our change was about $20 and I am not going to tip them that much. We were humiliated with the waiters action. Not coming back here.

This is actually a pretty good and fairly authentic Italian restaurant. The bearded waiter can sometimes be short (at least with me and my party) but the food is always of a higher quality than their neighboring restaurants. You can also order pizza for take out here which is always very good.

Good authentic Italian food with a NOCAL twist! The inside reminds me of the restaurants on Mulberry St. in Little Italy in Manhattan. Good drinks and nice Italian wine list. I ate here twice this past week based on co-worker recommendations. I will definitely come back.

Were first time visiting San Jose from LA. And this is our first diner here. Very disappointed in the service. We got a little bread. We asked for more. But we were told. Thats it, no more bread. What the Italian restaurant without bread?

This may be my new favorite restaurant in SJ. Loved the house made ricotta and shrimp and grits! Great selection of wine and beer with knowledgeable and fun service at the bar. Will definitely become a regular spot for me!

Great little Italian restaraunt. Great service positive atmosphere and good solid food choices. Nice family atmosphere. Go here. Waiter overheard saying "been here for 15 years gets better every day"
