This is by far one of my favorite places to go hang out and grab some great food, here in Sac, CA. In fact Ive even done a birthday dinner or two here with friends and family. Nothing formal about the place, but the casual and trendy atmosphere is really what I love about Paesanos (Downtown) If you are looking for menu recommendations, then I would suggest to start with the Gnocchi Gorgonzola appetizer, its one of my favorites. Make sure you grab some extra bread for the dipping, because you will want every last drop of the delicious sauce that engulfs the gnocchi. Main Course- I would have to say that their spicy shredded pork, pasta, and cooling sour cream sauce combo, Pork Fussili, aka heaven in my mouth, is hands down one of my top picks at Paesanos. Try it, and you wont regret it. For desert, you probably oughta just go with whatever they got handwritten on one of the few giant chalk boards hung throughout the restaurant, displaying their dailies. This fun feature, again illustrates how Paesanos pulls off, Rustic-Italian meets Facebook-Socialite, and makes it work well, very well! You can also accompany your meal with any of their selected wines, and spirits that lay ever so close to the diners, behind the restaurants fully stocked bar, complete with views of the pizza ovens firing and the staff hard at work. This restaurant really does a bang up job of marinating the food stylings of your "Grandmas Kitchen" (if your Grandma is a little old Italian women, who cooks for the whole family amazing Italian dishes every evening,) with a very socially engaging lounge vibe. This restaurants friendly upbeat servers and staff make it a very taste bud tantalizing and fun filled dinning experience. It has become one of the local favorites that we lucky Sac-Town Citizens get to enjoy on a daily basis.

Like an old staple, I always know that I can come to Paesanos for good service and quality pizza. Ive been here for lunch and their happy hour. For pizza, I dig their potato and chicken combo. Dont question it, just try it! Okay two words: Polenta Fries. If you havent tried them, its another must-try. They are also on the happy hour menu, for something ridiculous like $3 or $4. The outdoor seating is what draws me here. A typical downtown Sacramento street experience! On the right night - warm evening, cool breeze - its heavenly. Just dont sit next to that scary metal pipe thingy that looks like it will explode. It makes funny noises and I hope it never loses pressure. Im sure it is a gas pipe or something practical like that, but it still scares me. Last visit was happy hour with fellow Yelpy friend Leah B. She was kind enough to share some of that seasonal watermelon pizza! Another must-try. Not something that you can take home and have for breakfast the next day as the juicy watermelon would no doubt soak up the crust. But with the drizzle of balsamic reduction (I think?) it is the perfect combination of sweet, savory and juicy! Wish there were more options for happy hour - most of the choices seemed pretty carb-heavy. Was secretly hoping to find calamari on the HH menu, but Ill be back! Those polenta fries are calling me again...

First off, if youre coming here for dinner during the weekend, MAKE A RESERVATION! They are really busy during weekend dinner hours and wait times are very long. With that said, service was great. We were seated pretty promptly (with a reservation). I had a large lunch so I didnt order an actual entrée for dinner. I had the fried calamari and a side salad. The calamari was slightly overcooked. The dipping sauce that came with was really good though. My side salad was good, lightly dressed and plenty of grated cheese (which I prefer). My fiance had the risotto entrée which he enjoyed. Everything was very reasonably priced. Id definitely go back again but I will be avoiding the calamari.

The downtown (midtown in this case) area of Sacramento is filled with trendy restaurants and microbreweries. Paesanos is a high quality pizza restaurant that has a good selection of alcohol and fountain drinks along with some tasty pasta. On the weekends it gets crowded and youll need a reservation for best results for 5 pm dinners and later. They gave my kids some yellow colored dough to play with while waiting for the food after we ordered! Metered parking is closest by but if you are willing to walk a few blocks there are some free two hour parking slots available. Service was good and this restaurant should leave most people highly satisfied.

Super disappointed to come for dinner tonight and find the roasted cauliflower with spaghetti squash and bacon dish has been removed from the menu. It was delicious and a great non pasta option for those watching their carb intake. Taking it off the menu was a huge mistake. We wont go out of our way to come back until its back; I can get a variety of pasta dishes anywhere. I still give 3 stars because the everyday average pasta, chicken, and peppers dish I had was okay, probably a little better than something from Olive Garden and their Sangria pour was generous for the money.

We had my granddaughters birthday party for 20 people last night!!! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, plus they have a full menu of gutten free recipes. My daughter-in-law has celiac disease and this is very very important to us! We usually dont go out 2 eat because most restaurants dont have a gutten free meal plus a full selection of menu items of gf!!! I was very impressed and I dont impressed easily!!! This is a great place all around for children too!!! We will definitely be returning & recommending Paesanos!!!

We came in with a large party (11) here for lunch today and the food and service was excellent. At the beginning, they gave us dough balls that kept the kids (and some adults) in our party entertained and they used them as play dough. Their farmers market salad was very tasty. Also got to sample from other peoples plates the Prosciutto Bianco Pizza, baked pasta and spaghetti carbonara. All of them were fantastic. It had a nice decor inside and I loved that there werent a ton of TVs everywhere. The waitress was also very friendly.

Been here a couple times, food is good, service is generally good but slow and Im just not a fan of going to downtown sac to eat lol parking is a pain. Only complaint I had is I found a small 2 inch piece of plastic wrap or plastic bag in my stromboli once, some people would really freak out over something like that but im sure it was part of portion preparation and just got accidentally left/dropped in. Despite that the food has been good.

I like this place! I really like the variety on their menu. Ive had everything from the bocce balls and the polenta fries to the pizzas and risotto. It is all very tasty. I love the crab dip. Its a short walk from my place and I often order stuff to go. I like that the bar has a rotating handle of craft beers. It will get busy on a week night but overall its a great spot for a date or to meet up with friends for some great food!

Paesanos is a great spot for decent Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. They have an extensive menu and a decent bar. The sangria is very well made if that is your thing, otherwise they have an OK selection of beer and wine. Service is typically good and although it can be crowded and there is often a wait, its generally not too bad. Reasonable prices, good for a casual dinner.
