More and more reviews keep poppin up for this place, its ridiculous! Im glad I could finally snag the 100th! Hehe anyhow, I had dinner here with my friend on Sunday night a couple of weeks ago after seeing all the hype on Yelp about it with the "high reviews." The aguas frescas are delicious and reasonably priced. The seafood tostadas seemed great from the pictures but somehow the seafood was slightly underwhelming for me. Its def. not a 5 star dish on its on in my book... I tried both the octopus and shrimp. I think it needed some type of sauce and the texture of the seafood was not my favorite. The chips and salsa were just okay, nothing special... Ive had better chips and salsa elsewhere. My friend ordered something similar. It wasnt enough food, I could have eaten more but decided not to that night. Had a great night with plenty of good post dinner conversation, and its definitely a popular spot with the outdoor seating if the weather permits. No problems with the service, but I believe it wasnt amazing. I really think Ill have to come back and try something more amazing to update my review beyond 4 stars. Ill look into the seafood burritos or fried halibut possibly next time...?

After visiting the Winchester Mystery House with another couple on vacation, we all decided to eat at Mavericks because of its high ratings on Yelp and Google and it did not disappoint! I had an amazing crab taco that tasted fresh and flavorful along with a chile verde burrito that was amazing! My wife had a vegetarian burrito that she really enjoyed because it was actually full of veggies and not just beans and rice. The place is decorated with neat murals and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms were large and very clean (which was an important feature for us since we were on a road trip).

If you love shrimp, crab and tender juicy grilled fish, you will really enjoy Mavericks. If you also like Mexican food, you will LOVE this place. We started with the Seafood Botana (appetizer sampler) and enjoyed every bite. The Crab & Shrimp Flautas and the Seafood Quesadilla were excellent. The Prawn Tostadas de Ceviche was fresh and tasty and a generous portion. You cant go wrong with any of the fish or seafood tacos. Excellent! Leave room for the flan - best in the Bay Area. Great service. Nice outdoor patio too.

Mavericks - good food at a good price. Its not every taco joint that will specialize in seafood, and its not every diner who even likes seafood! Mavericks takes that risk and makes a great go of it. The seafood menu is really broad and is for the adventurous. These guys are committed to making it work and I hope they dont give in and just do chicken and beef like so many other lazy cost-cutting places. I especially enjoy the shrimp enchiladas!

Went here today and we ordered a small veg burrito, two fish tacos (tilapia and cod), chili rejano, chicken nachos, and a house salad. The food came quickly and it was all pretty good...the tacos were by far the best. They have a large selection of fish and neither of the two we ordered were fried which was a nice change. Tip - they love olives and are in most dishes.

We stumbled into this strip mall place after getting mani pedis next door and it turned out to be an awesome find! The fish tacos were delicious, they arrived fast, fresh and hot. The setting was casual and fun with a nice outdoor patio. This would be a good option for families (those nights you just dont want to cook) and it has decent parking.

I havent even eaten but cane here on a friday night and they had a magician for entertainment and everyone was nice the owner and his wife are working along with the other employees and came to the table..the husband even sang for me...ill let cha know how the food taste but from what ive seen everything looks amazing

-aquiz and el torito,heck taco bell is better...the staff looks like they are on meth.all the people are white including the chef.the food tasted like armpits and was really pricey.I could see why its empty. This is not even real Mexican food its like spaghetti os sauce on everything.

Great place to go if you like a little twist on standard Mexican food. Good choice of seafood , beef, pork, and chicken. Out door seating is covered, enclosed, and heated. The regular burrito was about all I could eat, cant imaging getting a super burrito down.

This is a seafood Mexican place. I was surprised how many fish choices there were on the menu. I had the Chimichanga with bass and I was not disappointed. It was hot and crispy. The staff was helpful and the patio was large and welcoming with the afternoon sun.

The owner or manager was awesome. I did not like my particular order and I dont like to make a fuss. But he noticed right away and offered me something else for free. Everyone elses order was great. 2 stars off for the shrimp cocktail. It was terrible.

Stopped here on my way through San Jose on business. Great atmosphere, clean, and delicious food. Chips are fresh, salsa is just right, and the fajita was very good! It seems like a family owned business and they are very friendly! Would recommend.

Great burritos and taco plates. Chicken, steak and sea bass all are amazing (note they no longer offer sea bass). Family owned restaurant the owner and his wife are great people. The service is by far and away some of the best in the Bay Area.

Nice outdoor seating, took our dog, she enjoyes munching her kibbles while we had our delicious food and frescas. Friendly staff, they made us feel welcome and occasionally asked if we needed something.

Just as good, everytime. Chipotle sauce is BOMB!!! Just an all around great restaurant. Definitely my go to place when Im hungry and dont wanna cook! The owner and his wife...sweetest people EVER!!!

Food is OK, service is excellent. When they forgot to put a salad on our order, the owner brought one to us at no charge. The fish tacos were OK, a little dry. The enchilada dinner was better.
