As I write this review I am suffering from the worst case of indigestion Ive ever experienced in my life. The extreme discomfort began about 1 hour after being served what was advertised as "fajitas" at Baja Cactus, but tasted like roadkill marinated in motor oil, fried on a dirty car radiator and served with imitation cheese, guac and sour cream that looked like it was squeezed from a toothpaste tube. Like anyone else, Ive had some bad experiences eating out, but have never been moved to call the restaurant out online. After all, places have bad nights, and it seems wrong to publicly punish a restaurant for what might have been an honest mistake. I dont think Baja Cactus deserves that kind of consideration. Everything there seems to aspire to the same level of appalling taste; there is a consistency at work which makes the experience of dining there feel like a deliberate assault on the senses. This place is garbage. Dont eat here unless you are eager to relish the surge of relief that one feels after recovering from a violent bout of food poisoning. Shame on me for eating here, against my better instincts. But shame on Baja Cactus for passing themselves off as "authentic Mexican" food, and adding insult to injury by charging real money for it. Yuck.

Me and the wife were passing through on our honeymoon and picked this place at random. Wow, did we make the right choice. In the spicy sea of Mexican cuisine it is easy to wind up on an overly greasy, low-quality bean island. Baja Cactus is no such place, it is a gem hidden in Milpitas. My wife had the cactus-egg breakfast and I had a burrito with carne asada. We couldnt believe how good the food was. The salsa, in particular, clued us in immediately to the quality. I dont know how many ingredients it has or what they are but it is perhaps the best Ive had so far. Check this place out! Ask to try the salsa. If you arent convinced after that, well, perhaps Mexican food is just not for you.

My wife and I eat here about once a month. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant and in our top 10 bay area favorite restaurants. The food is consistently excellent and the service is fast and friendly. Even with large parties going on we are served within 15 or 20 minutes after ordering. I order the Mole Poblano and I like that so much that I cant seem to order any other dish. My wife is able to order other dishes and has enjoyed them all. They have a great salsa, too. It can vary in "heat". Mostly the salsa is a medium (mild to pepper-heads) but every once in a while it gets kicked up a notch or two.

Favorite Mexican food in Milpitas, for thirty years!! Been customers since they first opened, much less frequently these days (live in SF) but its always a consideration when in the area!! Its all good here, but I especially like the beef fajitas, and the carnitas burrito, and the guacamole is always a winner!!

My coworkers rave about this place, because of the cilantro chicken on Tuesdays. The chicken is good, but Ive been disappointed with the other dishes, the salsa and the beans. A bit too much cheese and tex-mex for me.

A great little taqueria. My favorite dish is the carne asada taqueria tacos. It is a bit far from my workplace, but worth the drive.

As the name suggests, it has rich cactus dishes. Though I missed to order one of them, the quesadilla(?) was good.
