Not at all what I expected! My girlfriend and I were out for the evening, and decided to give Maria Maria in Danville a try, based on her recommendation. My first impression wasnt good, due to the two unprofessional hostesses at the door. It was less than a warm welcome. We were seated at a patio table in the far corner, which was a nice choice on this warm evening. Unfortunately, it took awhile for our waiter to come to our table, and I even overheard two men at the table next to us complaining about the service. The good news is that the margarita was tasty. My friend and I shared a plate of enchiladas that were stuffed with crab and had a pumpkin sauce. It was an interesting combination that I was excited about, but was not impressed with the dish. After an uneventful meal, we headed to the restroom and then out to her car. When I checked my purse for my iphone, I found that I must have left in on our table. Upon returning to the table, I found that it had already been cleared, and that my iphone was no where in sight. I immediately reported it to the two hostesses at the front, who seemed less than concerned about my loss. When I spoke with the manager about it, he had the same attitude. Nobody had any knowledge of the where abouts of my phone. I certainly cannot blame anyone, but myself for my loss, given that I was the one that left it on the table. Given that we were seated in the far corner of the patio, where no foot traffic/customers pass by, it seems strange that no one had seen my phone. The most frustrating part, was that the manager did not show any concern or offer any suggestions for locating my phone. The next morning I phoned the restaurant and spoke with another manager, who had the same attitude, or lack of concern. I have no intention of ever returning to any of the Maria Maria restaurants. Even if, if was my fault that my phone was gone, having the management show some concern, would have been appreciated. I feel that giving them two stars is being very generous!

Came here for a private party at the back of the restaurant. Great opportunity to have a meal outdoors in a beautiful garden setting, though it can be a little noisy with busy Sycamore Valley Blvd right in front. Our party had both the back room (behind a curtain) and the outdoor patio to eat dinner. Restaurant, overall, is beautiful, especially at night. It just glows with warm light and earth tones. Tablecloth service. Nice long bar to sit and get a drink, wait for your table or dining alone. Friendly service. Wait staff came by every once in awhile to check up on us. Refresh our water and ice teas, took away plates. Maria Maria let us bring our own desserts without adding an additional charge for using their plates /flatware (Nice!!). As for food, beautiful presentation and healthy- quality ingredients, not greasy, fatty tasting, but more on the bland side, not a lot of spice (aka chilies) or heat. We had chicken and vegetarian enchiladas, Mexican Rice and Black Beans. I wouldnt call it authenticate Mexican Food. The freshly made tortillas chips and fresh salsa, which had some heat, was very good. Parking can be a little tough in the Rose Garden Complex, not enough parking spaces, in general. So, be patient. You might have to walk some distance from where you able to find an available spot. Disabled parking is up front. Easy access to get in if you are wheel chaired bound.

- Atmosphere is very nice, but a little dark. Parents had a hard time reading the menu without using their iphone flash light. - The waiting staff can definitely use some work. The waitress was friendly when she was around, but would disappear for unreasonable periods of time when were looking to refill our chips and salsa. I had an empty water cup for about 15 minutes without anyone offering to refill it. I asked the bus boy for water three times, before he came back and asked, "Would you like some water?" - Most importantly, the food is very so-so. All the meat in all the four dishes we ordered was dry. Even the carnitas, which you get mainly for the juicy and fattiness, was disappointingly dry and chewy. Forgetting about shredding it with forks; a knife or two wouldve been required to break down the chunks of meat they call carnitas. - On the plus side, they offer dishes Ive yet to see at competing restaurants. The complimentary salsa is quite delicious even though our chips were stale. ** If it werent for our $50 for $100 coupon, this meal wouldve been a bust. 2 stars for inexperienced and inattentive waiting staff, very mediocre food, and to prices. Thumbs up to salsa if you dont get stale chips.

My second chance for this restaurant. My wife is from Central America and have ate at many a restaurant. I received a gift card for the restaurant so, we tried different meals than the first visit here. The enchiladas were served worm (Not hot). By the time I was half way through the first enchilada the meal was cold. The refried beans were cold at the start. We were unable to eat anything beyond that point. The coffee and tea were also cold before we were finished with the meal and no refills were offered. I could possibly have overlook this point if it had been busy but it was not. After the waiter took the unfinished meals away and picked up the check a manager stopped by the table. He inquired about the meal. We advised him that the meal was not what we expected. He told my wife that possibly she was not used to the spices...... wrong thing to say to a latin. There was no apology or attempt to correct any part of the meal or experience. He was very insincere and indifferent to any of our feedback.

Unfortunately our most recent dining experience was also quite poor. The food was good, but the service was horrible. We tried to sit outside but when it got windy we asked to turn on one of the multiple heat lamps but were told they were all out of propane by our waiter who we suspect never really checked based on his attitude. Although all 6 of us asked for water, they only brought water for four. The food and drinks were very slow to be delivered and we were brought either the wrong meal or only portions of what we actually ordered. All in all the experience was very frustrating. We previously had very good meals and service in the past but this dining experience was a two star based on the very poor service. Since we live very close to the restaurant it is sad that we will likely not return again at least not until they get there service act together.

It is very sad the service here is so terrible! Nice ambiance, food usually good, good drinks however....recently food has been delivered warm or cool, not hot, takes forever to get drinks, table waiters seem disconnected from their job. Last night, we experienced warm food, terrible service, and clearly will not return. After finally getting our drinks, that was the last of our waiter until we were done eating...drinks on the edge of the table, water gone, and yet never once asked of we wanted refills. We also counted our waiter making at least 8 passes right by our table without checking in. There are too many other great choices....dont waste your money here.
