The staff is very polite! Very accommodating. Very nice to kids. They really communicate and establish good relationships with their customers. If you are a returning customer they will greet you like they havent seen you in forever! They keep the restaurant very clean. Theres classy music too so the environment inside is not nauseating. Keep in mind that since this is a Japanese restaurant expect it to be a little costly. But the food is great! The foods presentation is great! They put a lot in your plate to the point that you cant finish the whole thing so you really get what you paid for. They have a lot of items in their menu...some of the items names are even humorous! They serve salad with sweet salad dressing and its good. A salad hater might like it. (Like me) I usually order the Pork Katsu and its delicious! Its not bland at all. The breading is tasty and crispy and they put lots of pieces of it in your plate. Try everything with sauce. The sauce really makes a difference in your food. P.S. The tempura ice cream is the best! =) Just ask them about the ice cream once youre ready for dessert! (I think they do this because they deep-fry the ice cream. I think they wanna make sure the ice cream wont melt before they serve it to you)

FIRST and LAST time I will go there. I went in and placed an order to go..they bring me the order once its ready and I asked the server for hot sauce...he looks over to the owner and tells him that I want hot sauce (like if he was asking for permission to give me some)..then once in the car I check my order and I am missing the California roll I had ordered...so I walk in and they give them to me(no soy sauce) I check the bag in my car and one packet of soy sauce was included for two orders(REALLY) so I go in again and ask for some the owner hands me ONE packet...being frustrated I ask to buy some....he SELLS me 5 soy sauce packets for $1 ...OMG .....my order included pot stickers but no sauce again.....It was too much... so I just left but will NEVER return... so if you go there make sure you take extra money to buy Soy sauce if you want any....food is not too bad but service is HORRIBLE...

My review is long overdue. The customer service is second to none - EXCELLENT!!! I have purchased several times here. The owners go far and above to ensure you are happy and satisfied with your meals. The personal service is OUTSTANDING!!! The establishment is always clean, well kept, and never crowded. Every meal has been promptly served within a very reasonable time frame. The meals have always been exactly what Ive ordered and have never had to send back. I recommend the Korean ribs and 12 piece deluxe sashimi (always all salmon). Some of the traditional rolls (rainbow) may not be as flamboyant as in other establishments but they are reasonably priced. On that note the prices are reasonable. I recommend anyone try this place.

Shogun is awesome! I love their sushi rolls .. ESPECIALLY the UOP roll and Dragon roll. One thing I love about their sushi is that the eel doesnt taste TOO FISHY like sho mis. Their tempura is the best I have ever tasted here in stockton. Its cooked perfectly and you can even tell because the color is how it should be.. GOLDEN. The beef teriyaki is delicious too. The beef is actual steak thats cooked medium rare with lots of sauce. DELICIOUS.

Wouldnt even give them one star but i had to to write a review just took my family in there and was refused service cause there was four of us and we only ordered for three cause i was going to share a roll woth my girlfriend was one of our favorite places to go in stockton till the ignarant waitress that said we have to leave shes not making only three plates like who the hell are you never returning again

Ive been going to Shogun since i was a kid with my mother god rest her soul anyway the place has changed hands many times but the foods always been the same it was better when the previous owner had it but its preety peaceful. its a nice place with a relaxing environment and top notch japanese cuisine. The servers are very friendly and the chef makes a mean tempura. I give it 5 stars

Bad all around. Sushi quality and cuts were mediocre, the sushi rice was cold and hard. Tempura hand roll was drenched in sauce with way too much rice (same cold hard rice), spicy scallop hand roll was decent but again too much rice.

We go here once a week....nice low key place with good food...WORD OF ADVICE...Plan to buy 1 plate per person...For Gods sakes your going out to eat dinner at a sit down resturant...not Mc Donalds......

The service is good, food is good, but the portions are pretty small compared to other Sushi places. If you are in the area and really want Sushi then it will suffice. Good but not great.

Worst place ever.. first time there wasnt even that many customers after tasting my shusi its was cold and hard. I wouldnt recommend this place.
