The service was horrible here. I will never, ever come back again! And I will never, ever recommend anybody to this horrible place. My wife was visiting me from New York City last week, and I’ve be planning to make her stay in bay area as pleasant and memorable as possible. I made reservation at Spinnaker for a weekend brunch at beautiful Sausalito, and expected to have a nice start for a fun weekend. However, my experience there was so horrible that it almost ruined our whole day visit. I will never, ever come back again! And I will never, ever recommend anybody to this horrible place. I made reservation at 11:30AM on 2/16/2013 through Open Table. I was so excited to show my wife the beautiful view of San Francisco, and got to the restaurant at around 11:10AM. Well, everything was OK at the beginning, the whole place was quite empty at that time, and the waitress brought us to a table with nice view. We started to look into their menu, wait for someone to server us, and wait, and wait, and wait! People came after us started to order, and get their food. I was trying to be nice and kept making eye contact with waiters walking around, but they just avoid the eye contact and ignore me like air every single time! I’ve been waiting for more than half hour, and no one showed up to take our order! What did I do to deserve the treatment like this? I was very angry at the end and left this place. Worst place to start a beautiful weekend. I will never come back again.

Come in for lunch with my daughter on Sunday. We didnt wait that long to be seated. Service was good as was the food. Overall experience was nice. What bothered me was that after I paid, left the restaurant & checked my bank account, I realized my card had been authorized for the amount of my bill plus 20% even though I chose to leave a cash tip. When I called to ask if this was standard I was told no so I expressed my concern with the fact that I felt this could be racially motivated and that this was the servers way to make sure that we would get his tip without the card declining. At that time I was told by management that the 20% is automatically added by their bank when credit cards are used for payment. Really!!?? Sounds kind of fishy.... So, I contacted the company they use and was told this is NOT true and that they can only authorize the amount that has been entered by the merchant. I had planned on returning to this restaurant but now Im not so sure.

Why are you coming here? Really tho, did someone suggest this place and now you’re online reading reviews to see what your about to order? Did you google “breakfast with a view” and this place showed up? Or did you just sit down and decided to see what people had to say about the food and service? Well just say yourself the pain and misery, do what I should have done and pick a different place, or really just get up and LEAVE. This place has the worst of both worlds with a wonderful view. The food is pricey, medium quality with a lack of flavor (except the clam chowder this ish is good). The service…..OMG the service is HORRIFIC. The waiters aren’t friendly, they aren’t considerate, and they are slow and downright disrespectful. If you want to waste 4 hours of your life trying to order sub-par food then you are in luck!

We were there early September of 2014 and sat at the bar tables due to not having a reservation, we just went in to have a late lunch while tooling around the bay area. The food was wonderful, some of the best crab cakes that I have ever had and I am a crab cake snob! Everything else we had was also incredible probably because it was all seafood and there are few places better to have seafood. The atmosphere was beautiful, views were "to die for", and the beer and wine selection was impeccable. I wish I remembered what the light golden beer was that I had, it was perfect with the seafood and did not weight me down for the full day of walking we had later in San Francisco. I need to call them and find out what is on their beer list......soon and see if I can find it in Charlotte NC.

This place has been here for many years and has amazing views. The waitress was friendly, the lobster bisque was wonderful. The dinner was less than desirable. As we were seated, the table next to us had a family with a toddler running around and screaming. They left, and another family with two children was seated next to us. While the waitress was trying to wipe the finger prints of the little girl from the last family, she told us that kids are always putting their fingers on the window. The children from the next family were now running around and screaming about the boats passing by. What was supposed to be a romantic dinner was a huge disappointment.

Felt very rushed towards the end of our private event held at this location. They needed us to leave to make room for the dinner rush, enough though we were still enjoying ourselves and adding beverages and food to the bill. Guess they didnt want our business to stick with them, terrible call on managements part. They also write at the top of the bill what the servers expect you to tip them, super unprofessional. Are you assuming we arent educated enough to know how to properly tip our service? Will not be booking another event there. Food tasted well and generic, temperature preferences were offered for the steak but well done was all that was served.

Great view of the city at night, prices were very reasonable, and the food was good. I couldnt give five stars though because the service was very slow, the server wasnt very personable, and when we asked for our meals to get packed only mine did and my significant other did not get his shrimp/scallops left over from his pasta dish, which there was half a dish full still. I also felt bad for the waitress in the bar area because all her tabs kept getting transferred over so she lost out on all the service she was providing and she was doing a great job in working hard as it was quite busy last night, hope she gets reinforced for her hard work!

The steak was good, I would say 8 out of 10 but not great! The Calamari was really oily and no spices, I had to add salt and pepper to be able to eat that. The view is great, the environment is wonderful, it is very quite and usually they play lovely music which is relaxing. You can experience memorable dinner there with your loved one. The waiters are not welcoming and sometimes you feel guilty to ask about the food or request something extra, after food they clean the table very fast BUT you have to pay. I have been there many times and I will go back again not for the food but for the experience of the restaurant environment.

The food was excellent, and the views were amazing. This restaurant probably sits in the best place for a restaurant in the entire bay area. The views through the floor to ceiling windows are nothing less than spectacular, and at night they turn on flood lights to illuminate the fish swimming nearby. Service was good and there is lots of parking, with valet available. The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars is the decor. This place is in bad need of a remodel. It looks like a hotel lobby from the 1980s. From the prices they charge, youd imagine they could afford a refresh of the interior.
