Worst meal I have ever had. I was sooo excited to try Munchery when they launched in New York and to my surprise it ended up being the biggest let down ever. Lets start with ordering, I ordered my first "free meal" just to find out that it wasnt in fact free, it was discounted. The sum didnt turn out to be huge however I did feel like I had been duped into ordering. I would have preferred some sort of asterisk specifying that it was discounted and not "on us" as they advertised. My food did arrive within the time window I chose, however the delivery man gave my bag to another person who also ordered munchery in my building, if the person didnt know who I was I would have gotten my food jacked! They didnt even call me to come down like I asked them to on the checkout form. The bags were damaged, and there were no forks, knives or even napkins. They did however make sure to include marketing materials so I know how much "they care." The food looked SUPER unappetizing. Even after I heated it up (which seems like the total opposite of convenience) it was so over cooked it was inedible. When I say inedible I mean inedible, biting into it made me worried about losing a tooth. I even ate the bone without noticing the difference in texture. I only write reviews when a service is really great or really bad and this was hands down the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. There has to be a better way, seriously.

Terrible experience. I ordered dinner for me and my dad on a day I had to take a 3-hour exam so that I wouldnt have to worry about cooking. Forty minutes before the start of my exam, I get a call from Munchery saying the driver spilled all 4 of our dishes (mains and sides) and no food was going to arrive. I asked if food could be delivered later or if I had any options, and I was told no. I was also not offered so much as a discount on trying their service again or anything to "make it right." So I went to a three hour exam with no dinner and it was miserable. And, since this was my first time using Munchery and I was in the "30 day trial membership" period, I already set up delivery for tomorrow, which I cant cancel. So Im stuck paying full-price for a service that ruined my day. An additional problem with this service is that menu items sell out extremely quickly, so the items that looked the best werent even available when I placed my order several days in advance. What a terrible experience for a new customer.

I use Munchery on a regular basis (approximately twice per week) and have been consistently pleased with the quality of the food and the service. We dont love everything we get, but we really like almost everything. The food is also healthier and much more flavorful than anything I would prepare on a weeknight. Portions are good too. We order 3 meals for 4 people and it is plenty. Service is great. Delivery is almost always right on time. I have had a couple of complaints (e.g., undercooked rice once; one time - only - the wrong meal was delivered) and when I report them to the company they email me quickly and always give me a discount on my next meal. Obviously not all reviewers have had great experiences, but I use Munchery more than most and am a loyal customer. It is so nice to have completely fuss-free (no shopping, preparing, cooking, and little clean up) and tasty food for dinner.

At this very moment I am rating this company 1 star. I never received a text message 10 minutes before delivery and I purposely made sure that I was home today so that I can receive my box and when I check the status of my box it says delivered. There is no option that says to track driver like stated on the web site. When I email customer service, I was told that it may be delivered tomorrow "but dont worry, everything will be fresh." I made sure to be home today so that my box wont be sitting outside for hours and now I am being told its not going to be delivered on the scheduled delivery date even though the package says it has already been delivered. It is taking way too long to even get a tracking number and I am waiting on that so that I can call the delivery company to confirm whether they delivered it to the wrong address, or if I will be getting my box tomorrow instead of today.

Im so thrilled with The Munchery that Im telling all my friends about it. I am a foodie who no longer cooks since I lost my husband, and I was eating restaurant food for 2 1/2 years and gained 10 lbs. by doing so. With this wonderful home delivery program, I am eating very fresh, delicious, inventive and healthful recipes, and I cant say there has been one thing Ive not loved or at least liked very much. I find that I can split the large portions into two meals which makes for a great way to lose weight gradually and is very cost effective besides. I love that you can order just a single meal with no minimum, and even the same day if you go online before 1:30 p.m. Thank you Munchery for taking the stress out of what to have for dinner and helping me to eat healthier, and knowing exactly what Im eating.

I received a few gift cards to use. Its convenient - you can schedule a delivery, or delivery on demand takes about 40 minutes. They now deliver on the weekend, too. My favorites are the daily specials, or late price reductions. Variety leaves a little to be desired. Theres a heavy emphasis on pastas and fish. I love fish, but the fish offerings tend to be pretty simple, and I could make them fairly easily at home. There are often good vegetarian options, but those entrees seem pricey compared to the meat offerings. I never check the nutritional value until I receive my meal - and am always surprised how much fat they contain for a service that is known for a healthy alternative to traditional takeout. That being said, the customer service is phenomenal.

One meal and Im hooked. I have relatively few delivery options where I live and not many takeout options either nearby or on the way home from work. My wife found out about Munchery and we decided to give it a try. It vastly exceeded our expectations. My wife accidentally ordered the albacore, something she usually doesnt like and wouldnt order. She liked it enough that she would get it again. I ordered the lomo saltado; it kept getting better with every bite. Everything else was excellent: the salad was simple but fantastic, the bean soup was refreshing, the focaccia was comforting and delectably salty, and the red velvet cake was stunningly moist. They should probably save our address in their GPS units, theyll be coming to our place a lot.

The food barely arrives even if I ordered online. If it happens once thats fine. But what if it happens 5+ time and I ordered 16 times in sum? The reason I didnt give it one star is the customer support apologized and re-delivered sincerely after I complained the missing food. I had to give this service up because I no longer want to mess up the mood finding the dinner missing after a whole days work. Update April 21: Finally I found I really need dinners after work. If Munchery can successfully deliver food within next several attempts, I will modify my review. Update May 3: Yes they had successfully delivered for recent attempts. So I will raise it to 4 star. The reason not 5 is the food does not looks beautiful as it shows on the pic.
