I used to go there a few years back and thought it was ok. Just went back today and I dont think I will bother going back. The restaurant was full during lunch, there was even a line after we got in. Despite that, not much activity on the food side, very few things coming out of the kitchen. During the hour we were there, most of the dim sum were done long before we got there, and were warmish at best. The staff looked tired and moving aimlessly for the most. For the few fresh incoming dim sum we were able to grab, all were still pretty much average, the dough of the fried taro balls was chewy, the shu mai were unmemorable. May be it is better to arrive at 12pm sharp.

Ordered take out from here. Its surprising how lacking delivery options in SOMA are.... so take out it is. The good thing about this restaurant is that its open everyday at like 10am, earlier than other restaurants on weekends. Dim sum is okay. I only ordered two dishes: the tofu skin wrap and eggplant stuffed with shrimp. One common factor is the greasiness, but at least flavor was okay. For entree I ordered eggplant in garlic sauce. OMG it was HORRIBLE. Note to self, do not order non-cantonese dishes at a cantonese restaurant. Rookie mistake, why didnt I stop myself. Sigh.

The proportions were phenomenal!! The service was outstanding and it was worth every penny!! Of course its a quick little mom & pops Cantonese restaurant; the stigma will always be present but Id return again and again if I lived in San francisco. The other dim sum places I had in china town, San fran; seattle WA; Manhattan, NY they were just alright. They had the appeal of a modern day restaurant but this location didnt have to try hard at all. Im in Stockton once a month, and this will be my permanent stop before I head to the airport!! P.s. parking is a bxtch

Of the cheap dim sum restaurants in the city, I would say that its slightly above average. If you want to compare to Yank Sing, Crystal Jade or Koi Palace, this place doesnt come close. I come here quite often because its close-by. Food isnt bad albeit greasy. My favorites are the har gao - not bad, the pea sprout gao - delicious. Other items are about average. Bathroom is disgustingly filthy.

After hearing so many positive things about this place, I had to try it. I bought 2lbs of headless shrimp and 2lbs of Canton Seafood in maniac sauce/level 2 spicy. I got everything to go since I didnt want to wait. Level 2 was a little too hot for me so Ill probably get level 1 next time. I think I like this place better than Boiling Crab in CA but I still like Hot and Juicy in Vegas best.

Mediocre dim sum, very bad service. Slow even when the restaurant was mostly empty, the beer we ordered never brought to the table, but was charged in our bill, when we confronted the waitress about it, she gave us another bill and told us the previous one would be voided. Guess what, later we found from our credit card bill that we were billed twice from them! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Ordered food and asked if if the shrimp were deveined & we also included egg rolls, they said yes. After paying $50 & receiving the food, we found that the shrimp wasnt deveined & they sent spring rolls instead. On top of all that, the food was very bland & only one pack of soy sauce. After calling back & complaining it was very difficult to get our money back...

Spot on 1970" 80s classic SF Chinese Dim Sum. Their mix traveled back to Hong Kong. Get a spot near the kitchen set up or wave at a nice cart lady the minute she gets a fresh stack. Shrimp har gou are spot on and snappy. Daring - go for the spare ribs and the tofu rolled veggies. yum Im 35 years in sf- this is the best of sf dim sum

It seems this restaurant has open for many years by the interior. We went there for weekend Dim Sum since it is close and has its own parking place, which is rare in the city. The food is okay, we like there rice cake and stewed short rib. You can see and take the plates you want on the cart, which is nice. However, the variety is few.

Small number of different dishes circulating. Also, they didnt seem fresh. Maybe they dont make them there? They will make custom orders but kind of wrecks the fun of dim sum. 1pm on a Saturday only about 25-30 people eating in the large dining room. Lights were very dim. Plus is the staff was very friendly.

They bring plates around on carts and add to your order whatever you pull off the cart. Try the lava buns, theyre AMAZING! Going with a larger group should help reduce the price while giving you more variety, or total for 6 people was 15$ after tip

Ate there during the evening. The place was completely empty. They ran out of some of the Dim Sum items. We ordered off the main menu. Peking duck still had bone in it. This was the first time Ive seen it serve with the bone still there.

It felt like a converted dollar store, dont let the decor fool you. The food is marvelous wonderful mouthwatering treats. Try something different every time you wont be disappointed.

Great dim sum and never too busy. Dont miss out on the dofu huar (sweet soft tofu) and the egg custard tarts for dessert. Everything is fresh and not greasy, and the selection is great.

Basic Chinese-American fare. Dim sum is acceptable. Service....well, just Ok really. Prices are good! I suspect there is a secret menu...lots of chinese folks frequent the place.

Good place in SOMA to get dim sum if you dont want to go all the way out to the west side of the city or chinatown. Dim sum quality was good. Nothing spectacular though.

Really good food, amazing flavors there are many dishes. When I went a few visits ago, my mom got sick from the food. Besides this, I strongly recommend this place.

We love going to Canton for their veggie dishes - the dim sum menu has a sufficient menu of vegan dishes to satisfy. Try the noodles with bean sprouts for sure !

I think this would be OK of everything was fresh, but most of what I got had been sitting for a while and was a bit stale. For a $20 lunch I expected a lot more.

Staff were surprisingly friendly enough for a Chinese place. Roast duck was good, siew mai as well. Other dishes are hit or miss. Prices were average for sf.

Food is pretty good, dim sum is decent. I got takeout and it felt like I waited more than 30 mins for my order. Kind of pricey though, as dim sum can be
