Make sure to take your statins before you come: lipitor or zocor will work just fine. Youll be fighting against the tasty but heavy triumvirate of cream, butter, and eggs. You start off with a salad or soup appetizers. The three pepper soup I had was delicious. No matter your predilection get an appetizer; souffles take a long time and youll be starving if you skip the apps. Then you share a souffle and they have a bevy to choose from. The lobster souffle we had, had a carmelized cheesy crust, rich egginess, and huge chunks of lobster. We were scraping the ramekin trying to get the last bits. Lastly you split a dessert souffle and we went with the classic of chocolate. When it comes you must be careful not to inhale the powdered sugar which coats the top. It could cause a choking frenzy which would be an unwelcome scene in the small space. With little lighting and marginal decor, our powdered sugar choking fit had the whole restaurant looking at us. We sure filled up on the chocolate souffle though, and there was NOTHING left in the ramekin. It really is an amazingly delicious and large souffle. Service was lacking, but you really only come here just for the souffles. The wine list is very reasonably priced and complements the menu well with mostly French selections.

An amazing experience. Definitely on the pricey side of dining, but good food requires good ingredients and when you add the atmosphere and seriously great service it costs more. If your visiting San Francisco, plan at least one evening at Cafe Jasqueline. Reservations are not required but highly recommended. Jacqueline is the creator of some amazing souffles i can only speak to the Prosciutto Mushroom and the lemon souffle, but both were amazing! The menu is designed to feed 2. Souffle takes a bit to prepare so dont expect fast food. Expect a great dining experience from Europe - where they would never consider eating behind the wheel of a car. Dining is an experience, not just cramming in calories. The food here s 5 Star and the waiters were 5 Star as well. Dont be afraid to ask advice. They were very set on us having a wonderful evening. A truly wonderful dining experience.

Everything was amazing! The service - fun, knowledgable, and attentive to our table. The setting - felt like a little charming French restaurant that I was just at earlier this year. And the food? Yummmm - everything was delicious, with the outstanding dish being the dessert soufflé (we had the Grand Marnier choice). I wish the dessert dish was a bathtub size one that I could sit in and eat my own bathwater of Grand Marnier soufflé. Id feel fantastic afterwards - full of the most delicious thing Ive ever had in my mouth and my skin would be so soft from the cream - AND I would smell of Grand Marnier! But then Id be too happy I might explode - so Ill have to settle with normal sized soufflé dishes...yet will have this dream as often as possible until I return.

Easily one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The French onion soup is absolutely divine!!!! We have had the cilantro & tomatoe soufflé, the spinach soufflé and the fruit de mare (seafood) soufflé. I would recommend every single one! The escargot is yummy however both my husband and I would love a little more salt added to it. Weve also had the chocolate soufflé which for two was scarfed down (honestly, we cleaned every single rankin because its all so delicious)! The service is impeccable and the servers are fantastic! You can always ask them anything and they will give you their opinions and help you make decisions. Now that Im writing this review, Im going to make another reservation.

Amazing food and service. We ordered French onion soup, a bottle of wine, a dinner and desert soufflé. The French onion soup was the best weve ever had and has to be the pinnacle of what is possible with that dish. The dinner soufflé had garlic and chanterelle mushrooms. Ive never had a soufflé before, but I cant imagine others possibly being better. With that said, the desert soufflé was by far the stand out. It was made with season peaches and was one of the best deserts Ive ever had. All in all, the dinner took a little over 3 hours, which we anticipated. Next time though, we might come back to simply order french onion soup and/or a desert soufflé, since those were our favorites.

Perfect place for a birthday dinner! The soufflés were unbelievable - every bite better than the next. We went with the White Corn, Ginger and Garlic for entree (our first choice Prosciutto and Mushroom was out) and it was a delicious combination of three great flavors without overpowering each other. Finished with the classic Chocolate soufflé (came out with a birthday candle) which was like eating a chocolate cloud of heaven! After the meal we went back and thanked Jacqueline in person - shes in the kitchen making each soufflé by hand! What a wonderful place and dining experience.

The soufflé at cafe Jacqueline is something special, and usually worth putting up with the bizarre treatment that the waitstaff deals out. But, deciding to stop seating customers almost two hours before the listed closing time, as happened on our most recent visit, is too far. Theres a point when a business has clearly telegraphed that they could care less if their customers just curled up and died, and the quality of what they have to offer isnt enough to make up for that kind of treatment. I couldnt - and wont - continue to recommend this place to anyone.

This is one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. If you like places that do one thing and do it well, this is one of those places. You come here for souffle, and you will like it. The ambience is wonderful, and the location is hard to beat, so you can easily continue your evening at Churchkey or Tupelo after your meal here. Back in the day, I saw Steve Jobs eating here. I recommend coming in a group of 4 people. Two souffles are too much for two people, but 3 souffles (2 savory and 1 sweet) is perfect for 4 people. Take my word for it.

Cafe Jacqueline has it all. A warm and cozy French restaurant vibe featuring a lineup of Soufflés for two. Service comes with the typical character and requisite of patience while the magic is happening in the back by Jacqueline herself. Sneak through the kitchen to use the restroom in the back and youll be able to witness her in her element. This place is an experience, certainly warranting a visit in a special occasion or a desire to try the most authentic of soufflés in SF.

Cannot overstate how amazing this place. A genuine authentic experience with souffles that are seriously incredible. Be prepared for a long wait - all souffles are made fresh - typically about 45 minutes from order to being served. The french onion soup and chocolate souffle are also musts in my opinion.

Wow, I was invited here by a friend and it could not have been better. It is quaint, sophisticated and the food is unbelievable!! We all shared the dishes but my favorites were the Salmon & Spinach entree and the White Chocolate for dessert. Highly recommended

A must everytime I go to SF! I have known Jaqueline for many, many years and the quaint restaurant hasnt changed quality in 30+years. It is well worth the wait for one of the sumptuous soufflés! The onion soup is out of this world as well❤️ Margie Aguilar
