I visited a broken yolk in pb about 12 years ago. It was pricey, but the food and service were great. I brought my roommate to the one in mision valley. What a mistake! I expected a wait, but was seated right away on a Saturday. The wait staff were friendly and always available. But thats were the good part ends and the ONLY reason for 2 stars. The food came out. Wow, what a let down. My omelet was small. Im used to I hop or chicken pot pie place. Ham and cheese. Cheap salty American processed cheese, and sandwich ham cut into tiny teeny little pieces, eggs had no flavor no seasoning and a strange texture. My roommate ordered the chireso omlet. Now THAT WAS DISGUSTING! no seasoning. The chireso was a tablespoon of cat food and a table spoon of flavorless salsa. He was dumping hot sauce and salt on it, just made it worse. The worst place for breakfast in san diego. SOO expensive!! Lousy food. Dont go there unless you like to leave food on the plate and leave hungry. We just jotted over to the grocery store nearby and bought real food right after. Chalk it up to lesson learned. There are plenty of breakfast places that dont rip you off. STAY AWAY

Bland food not worth eating. I had a 40 minute wait which was acceptable being that it was Fathers day. Pros: scrambled eggs and sausage were good, eggs florentine were okay and the service was okay. Cons: Stuffed French toast had no taste and the bananas werent fully ripe, Waffles are lame and the prices are a little high. My plate was the stuffed french toast and it looked like it would taste good. I ate less than half of it because it, well sucked. I normally eat everything on my plate and will quite often eat from my wifes or kids plates, but this time I left hungry even after sampling their leftovers. This was my second visit to a Broken Yolk (PB was the first visit several years ago). I had ordered other items the other time and the food wasnt good. Save your money and go elsewhere, maybe Dennys.

Awesome experience!!! The wait time was not that bad. We waited about 10 minutes with a packed house, I was every impressed how fast they got us seated. The food was great and came out with smooth timing. But I enjoyed the service much better. My server was EPIC!!! He was friendly and kept giving my kids fist bumps. He also commented how cute they were each time he came to the table. He made my kids laugh and also got them shark balloons. They really know how to make you feel at home. Im definitely will be stopping by again. They made my experience a memorable one. Best service I seen in San Diego by far.

My husband and I are regulars at Broken Yolk Cafe and Im pretty sure weve been to every single location in San Diego. Their menu offers something for everyone in the family from Omelettes, Benedict, to French Toast and Pancakes; they have it all! I love the fact that they have both Turkey sausage and bacon! My husband usually goes for the Make Your Own Omelette since they have all kinds of cheese, meats, vegetables you can imagine and hes never disappointed there given hes a picky eater! Their portions are huge though, so keep that in mind. Oh, and go for the home fries :)

I went in to have brunch with my friends before one of them left for Europe. The food was tasty however my stomach started hurting horribly a few hours after leaving (mind you this being my only meal for the day). I thought maybe I was just hit with a cold really quickly but alas, getting a hold of my friends I find out that we are all sick. Needles to say, my friend had to cancel his (non refundable) flight to Europe due to food poisoning and two of us had to pay a hospital visit due to uncontrollable vomiting. Will not return!!

My boyfriend and I went about 2 weeks ago to this location and it bothered me that him and I wanted to get a window seat but couldnt because they were "going to clean." Whatever. They say us down and until we were about to leave thats when they started doing their cleaning. I work at a restaurant myself and I am well aware that we are not to be using chemicals during store hours, and I dont know why it was impossible to get us a simple seat next to a window. Seriously why Im never going there again. Host was very rude

The steak and egg breakfast is all I ever order there! The steak is better than most Steakhouses, Id say an 8/10 and a 5 Star review Along with the best breakfast in San Diego County, they make the most incredibly Mouth Wattering, Best tasting, Flavorful Bloody Mary, Ive literally ever had in my entire Life, and I have had alot of Bloody Marys in my humble 52 years of life, to be able to honestly say Broken Yolk Best Bloody Marys EVER! 1#= Service ✨ 2#=Food quality✨ 3#=accuracy✨ 4#=timing✨ 5#=smiles-✨

Food was cold, way less than average quality, bus boys around us were just throwing plates and cups in bins loudly, with no regard to customers sitting around - and worst of all, the person who was picking dirty plates from tables after people had left, right after dumping the dirty plates, he picks up new silverware and napkins to set new tables.. Very UN-Sanitary.. personally will never go back again.

La comida estaba regular, el banco esta muy sucio y hedia a cucarachas, el lugar en general no muestra buena higiene, no volvería a menos que sepa que lo han remodelado todo.

Maybe it was the hype that made this pace so disappointing. We just moved here from Michigan and have been in a hotel the last 5 days, this was our first breakfast at a local restaurant and all I thought was - I should have ordered room service one more day. Not only was the food mediocre at best, but it was way overpriced. On to better breakfast meals!

Muy buenos desayunos y servicio. Entre semans está tranquilo, prro en fin de semana siempre hay que esperar. Las porciones son muy grandes, por lo que no me parece caro.

San Diego vacation: Good experience. What brought us here was the variety of the menu. If youre tired of big, heavy portions while on vacation, the menu provides variety. Parfaits, smaller portions, lighter food, etc. Its good breakfast. But their portion sizes, their recipes and ambiance does not hold a candle to Hash House or Snooze.

The crowd is very big waiting on the outside which is a good thing because it just goes to show that the food more than likely is probably good if youre going to be waiting that long Ive been there a few times the food is always good to me a little bit pricey but the food is good and the servers are courteous and professional

I have been to many Broken Yolk locations and all have had amazing Customer Service. They are open for breakfast and lunch; for both, the portions are huge, and tasty. Many times quantity outweighs quality at breakfast spots, but at Broken Yolk both are on point... Expect to wait 20 minutes or so on busy weekend mornings.

Excellent! We had some hiccups with our order being lost in the back but the server and even the manager came out to apologize to us personally at the same time they made sure we were taken care of. We were surprised at the excellent customer service and highly recommend the Broken Yolk in mission valley.
