I may change this review later, but unfortunately we didnt have a great experience the first time here. We went for trivia night last Thursday. It was pretty busy in the joint, but as we walked in there was no hostess or anyone to greet us. There was a large crowd of people waiting for the bar, but we were looking for a table to accommodate our party of 6. After passing the bar, we saw a table open and asked the people in the table next to it if it was free. They said itd been open for a while and even offered to move over one table so we could make our table larger. The waitress then came over was ready to take our drink orders, but we had her come back. She came back, took our drink orders and brought the drinks back in a relatively short amount of time. We were about ready to order food when the waitress came over and said that we had to get up because there was a party waiting on the table we took. Really?! We had been sitting down for 20 minutes! I explained how when we got there no hostess greeted us to take our name down on a list. She just said "well I can see how you got confused, especially since youve never been here before". Okay... So we had to get up! Our entire party of 6 had to stand for 80% of the rest of the night. I dont really fault the waitress, as the management should have had more people working. Having no hostess greeting guests (especially on a crowded night) is really poor management. How were we supposed to know?! The waitresses (I think there were only 3...) were clearly overworked and running around everywhere. Not only were we displeased with being uprooted like that, only one person in our entire group ended up spending money on food. Effectively, they missed out on $75+ in business by mismanaging the situation. The one person really did enjoy their burger (I had a couple bites) and the beer was delicious, so I do want to come back on a quieter night. I just hope management takes a look at this and realizes that keeping even one more person on staff would be wise.

Been here twice and had pretty negative experiences with service both times. The bartender who was working both times (I think he may own the place, he has long braids) was rude both times and did not make me feel welcome. The most recent time he told us we should probably take a picture of the beer menu of we were going to sit down because its not available at the tables. Our waiter did not have it memorized either. It took us 15 minutes for us to get our drinks on a slow Monday night. When I asked why it was taking so long out server said we should talk to the bartender. The bartender was busy making drinks and chatting up customers who had sat down long after us and did not seem to care. When we finally did get our drinks the beers were not full. For the kind of prices this place has the service is not up to scratch. Go elsewhere if you dont wished to be spoken to rudely by the bartender or ignored by the waitstaff.

Service, service, service --all bad! When a customer asks you "how long do you think until our food comes out?" (After ordering an hour before; it taking 30 minutes to get waters and having to share forks because the server didnt place enough for the number of people at the table. But when the food did come out for half of the table, it was clear several plates had been basking under the heat lamp for a considerable time, any semblance of freshness long since gone. Food continued to trickle out over the next 20 minutes with the last two plates arriving after everyone else had finished. I would understand if the restaurant was as busy when we left as when we ordered, but our party of 8 doubled the population at sessions.

Sessions Public is a terrific Gastro Pub easily accessible to all of OB, Pt. Loma, Pacific Beach and Bay Park, Mission Hills. The food has been excellent and extremely creative. Eg. Duck confit Udon, or Bacon Lolipops. Their burger is also one of the best in the city. Somehow they manage to have one of the best selections of beer in the city, usually with several very difficult to find local craft and Belgians on tap. Lots of parking too.

These people are worthless.. I have tried calling all week on the SEVERAL different numbers that are listed around the web and noone ever picks up and Im pretty sure it leads to a fax machine anyway. Wanted to pry about their crab boil but now their pathetic excuse for customer service/interaction has prevented me from ever wanting to venture through its doors. Forget this place even exists.

Pretty awesome beer selection, especially for the area. The food is good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. They used to have an AMAZING portobello mushroom burger on the menu but I believe they removed it. Also, vegetarians beware - their delicious fries are prepared in duck fat oil.

One of our favorite places to walk to, and the food and drinks are great. The duck fat fries are my favorite fries in San Diego! Great craft beer select as well as delicious signature cocktails. Of course you can still get a "well" rum and coke, if that is what you desire.

Quaint bar spot - primarily a locals favorite - with a modern twist on comfort food (build your own grilled cheese! Whaaaat!?). Service is incredibly friendly and attentive. Great bar drinks. Overall loved it... Probably best for smaller groups.

This is my favorite watering hole and dining spot in OB. Always great craft beers to chose from, and a great gourmet menu. Its a little more indie than hippie for the OB community, which is not a bad thing. Try it, I think youll like it.

I love this place but the service is terrible. They just dont have enough service staff on busy nights. Its not the servers or bartenders fault, there just isnt enough of them. Great food and great beer but just come in on a Monday.

A little pricey, but good food overall. It seems like the wait staff is stretched thin. We love coming for the fries and weekend brunch hours...nice atmosphere and decent service.

Delicious food, always an amazing beer selection and great vibe. We lived in PL for 2 years and this was one of our most frequented bar/restaurants.

We enjoyed dinner and drinks tonight. Great menu and beer selection! Definitely not your typical bar food menu! We will return!
