Its a little slow but thats the laid back pace here. Gets busy around 6. Had the berry the hatchet. Dry, fruity, not too sweet, refreshing . Very surprising because I hate sweet. The Dublin brown was a little standard but a standard I could rely on. A go to. Had the California Pizza. Fresh, cooked crisp with a little flex to it. Asked for parm. Good flavor. Nothing misleading with spices or sauce. And not too heavy. Day 2... Oh yeah, I said day two! Happy hour. Started with the Bockness Monster. This may be my new favorite beer. Thick, full, flavor. Not supper hoppy. Just a great beer. To give you an idea, I ordered this first and i secretly just wanted to end this review and keep ordering this. So good. Belgian Impaler. its like a thick Hefeweizen. Not porter heavy but more than you would expect. Not listed as a Hefeweizen though. Pub ale. A little bitter but in a good way. A little hop in its step. Rich flavor. Decent beer. Food: Happy Hour!!!! Seared Ahi skewers. Almost Japanese influence with the ginger sauce. Tuna is just seared. Not evenly, but it all tastes great. No fishiness so it must be fresh. Surprisingly, the coleslaw was really good. I hate coleslaw, but this really works as a pallet cleanser. Really handy when your switching beers. The cilantro hives it a different feel from your grossers coleslaw, and so much lighter. Not mayonnaise drenched. Main Street Tacos, These guys arent messing around. Its meat, guacamole, and cheese. Beans, lettuce, etc? Get out of here. There mini so we dont have room for that. Hungry? Wont fill up a growing boy but good to share as an app. I was a little disappointed on flavor. Food is like a painting. The canvas is at your disposal as a chef. This is like, another landscape. Why cant theyre be a Ferris wheel? Or a rocket. Theyre on land too. "LANDSCAPE!" Its good but use some spices people. Cilantro or something. The only tartness is the guacamole lime. Otherwise all savory. I appreciate the corn tortillas though. Dont get me wrong, Ill order these again. Just saying.

My family have been to Coronado Brewing Co. several times before, and decided to come back to celebrate my husbands birthday. Half of our party arrived earlier and already had a table, but the rest of the party came about an hour before closing which is when he whole party ordered. When we arrived, our server seemed irritated that not everyone was there yet. She didnt even introduce herself. Usually the service is great, but last night our server was just lazy. I would rather not mention her name, because I also have been a server and understand that when it is closing time you just want to get in and out. But I have also learned that no matter what time, how busy, or who it is...you should ALWAYS take care of paying customers. Since we were over a party of 8, it makes me wonder whether the guaranteed gratuity was a contribution to her laziness. The restaurant was not busy, so I know that wasnt the case. We were barely checked up on, and a few members of our party waited about 15 minutes to order a beer because she did not come back after taking our order. Towards the end of our meal, we told her we had a birthday we were celebrating and she said "we do not do anything for birthdays." Little did she know, was that another employee had already told us there was a little complimentary dessert for the celebrant. When we told her, she seemed irritated and in a rush and said.."ok, let me go get that." LAZY! We didnt expect anyone to sing or anything. Nor did we expect anything big. Its just the principle of the matter that the server fails to offer a good dining experience for guests.

We rode out bikes out to Coronado to grab lunch, we were looking forward to cooling off with some beer and a good lunch after riding 26 miles. We were familiar with Coronado Brewing since they distribute up in our area and they looked like they would be good to stop for lunch. Ordered a flight of beer to get started and tried several beers that we cant get in our home area. Tried the 18 Boots, Four Sirens, Mean Tajin, Dublin Down, and took an Orange wit since it sounded good on the hot day. The beer was all pretty good, the mean tajin was definitely my favorite for the day. The food however is a completely different story. I ordered a burger because we had walked be a burger joint down the street and it sounded good. Ordered the Mermaids BBQ burger but substituted avocado for the bacon. When it came out I was immediately disappointed, it was such a pathetic generic looking burger. The patty looks like it was frozen as it has way too perfect of a shape, there were two tiny onion rings, a drizzle of bbq sauce, and 3 small slices of avocado. What a joke, especially for $14. Well I put it together and ate it anyway. The bun was another thing that was surprising, it tasted just like the ones you get in an 8pk for $0.99 at the store. Absolute waste of money for a burger. It seems like a good place to bring your family and hang out though, we were surrounded by people with children. So they must have something decent for the family. Its a cool stop on Coronado, but definitively stick to the beer.

First off, I love Coronado. I use it as my personal mini-escape, when I dont have time for a real escape. So theres the first plus, you get to go to Coronado. Not to mention the brewery is only steps from a gorgeous view of San Diego city and the water. The food is slightly overpriced for what you get, but it is delicious. I had the garlic fries... amazing. I also had a turkey club sandwich which was tasty as well. We got two flights of tasters which was really fun, and unlike many places the amount of beer in each taster was generous. They also give you a postcard that has the name of each type of beer youre tasting, if need be you can keep it so you remember for the next time! They also have a beer menu on the table that describes the flavors of each beer. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all of them and deciding if I could taste what was supposedly in them. I tasted so many types I couldnt tell you which were my favorite but I really liked almost all of them. I do remember an orange flavored one that was super tasty. This is a great place for a family/friends get together, or for a date. Great environment, highly recommend.

I came to this place for lunch and ending up coming back the next day for dinner. Thats how good it was. Decor: This place is no dive bar. Its a beautiful craftsman style building with two fireplaces inside. Its a very warm and inviting feel. Drink: I had the taster set on my first visit to get a general feel of their beers. None were disappointing. The next day I focused on a couple of unique brewing they were offering. They had around 30 beers on tap. The best thing was on the second time I came they were brewing. I could small the wort creating in the back - it was amazing. Food: I have the chicken quesadilla the first day and the Bratwurst burger the next. Both were very good. Service: Both days service was excellent and very friendly. Tips: Parking on the Island is challenging. Its is only about a five minute walk from the ferry terminal. The ferry comes from a couple of places and is very convenient and does not cost much.
