I typically give 5 stars if I love a place and 1 star if I dont. To me, anything in-between is disingenuous to a reader. That being said, the only reason Rakiraki gets 2 stars is because their Kirin was great. The ramen though? Absolutely terrible. I went for dinner with my girlfriend and we ended up walking out without either one of us finishing our overpriced bowls of ramen. Two basic bowls of and a beer was $50 with tip. Insane considering it was one of the worst ramen bowls Ive ever had. The cuts of chicken were extremely poor. The vegetable ramen my girlfriend got had slices of pork in it. The place itself was disappointing, too. As we walked in, it smelled like someone had sprayed too much Lysol to cover up an even more unpleasant smell. The tables were cramped and poorly arranged. The staff was pleasant enough, so no real issue there. Bottom line? Find another place to eat - even if youre dying for ramen.

The broth in the ramen is phenomenal! I ordered the black edition with underbelly and it was so good and full of little surprises. Aside from the egg it had bamboo shoots, crisped up garlic slices, bean sprouts and seaweed. The noodles are silky bit with a nice bite to them. Rakiraki also serves yakitori/bento boxes, sushi rolls and curry as well as a few interesting starters that Im definitely coming back to try. What also intrigued me was the Frozen Beer, which as explained to me, is something of a slushy that "some people like". Well, Im going to have to check if Im one of those people ;)

Ok ramen, but they charge extra for chili paste. In fact they have ramen with chili paste on the menu as if it is a unique dish to their restaurant. No other Asian restaurant has ever charged me extra for chili paste, its like In and Out charging you for ketchup, or a Mexican restaurant charging you for the salsa. Poor seating and parking.

Hakata ramen with oxtail was excellent, enough for two. Small place, order and sit. I asked for chardonnay and was served cab, easily resolved. Someone else in my party had their order served to go when we were all eating there. This may have been due to a single person, perhaps theyre new. I prefer the sit down location up north.

I gave Rakiraki a try instead of going to my favorite ramen place down the street. I was disappointed. Nice and friendly service. Kale salad with tuna poke was way overwhelmed with dressing. Tuna itself was ok. I had original ramen with pork. It was like what you can get from Sun Noodle ramen kit. :-(

Food is good but not anywhere close to worth $15 for a bowl of ramen. Its ramen noodles for Gods sake. Wont eat here again unless Im too wasted to know the difference. At that price, their margins have to be through the roof. At least they give you a spoon so you dont have to drink the giant bowl...

Food was delicious, flavors were great, and service was fairly fast. 4 stars because I feel the ramen bowl could have been a bit bigger for the price. Maybe Im a fatty, maybe Im used to other spots where we get a bit more, I dont know, try it out because it taste great and you decide.

This has been one of the closest experiences to a ramen restaurant than you can get in Japan itself. Great Food , remember these dishes are huge!! And theres beer, which means Happy hour. Staff was polite and extremely helpful!

Attention to their broth is evident. Some places dont have a clue, but they do. You get what theyre try to do because it comes out in their food. Ive had ramen in Japan and around Asia this place can go toe to toe with them.

Admittedly this was my first ramen experience, but the chicken broth was flavorful and tasty, the chicken was good, and the egg interesting yet pleasant. Almost $18 for a bowl and a drink is a bit overpriced though.

Lovely ramen. I had the curry chicken ramen. Maybe a little too much skin/fat on the chicken for me, but that was easy enough to eat around. Great staff.

I love Raki Raki. Best ramen in San Diego IMO. The wait on Convoy is obscene and makes me never want to go there, but Little Italy is still manageable.

Had the the Red Ramen delivered, everything was cooked perfectly especially the pork. No skimping on the amount either. Will be eating here again

They handled a steady crowd and had enough seating even though it didnt look like it while in line. The kale noodles in my ramen were great!

The menu here has a lot of variety. I tried two different styles of ramen and both were great. I did think it was a little pricey, though.

I loved the Japanese curry. The most Japanese restaurant with a variety of Japanese food from Ramen to curry, to sushi to chicken karaage.
